Abstract: An integral recyclable dental floss package/container/dispenser, and a blank therefor, having an integral structure of one-piece, biodegradable material, preferably paperboard, there being a hang tab integral with extending upwardly from, and separable from, the back panel. The top closure has an inner panel extending rearwardly from the fornt panel, having a floss dispensing orifice and cutter, and an outer top cover panel extending forwardly from the rear wall.

Abstract: A cap for a bottle of mouth wash or the like is disclosed having a floss dispenser on the top thereof. The floss dispenser includes spool of floss and a knife on the outer surface of the dispenser. The dispenser has a lower half and an upper half hingedly connected to the lower half so that the dispenser may be opened to removably receive the spool of floss. A shield which surrounds the knife also serve as a fingerhold which may be pushed upwardly to open the dispenser.

Abstract: A cord dispensing apparatus having a body member provided with a first portion for holding a mass, ball, spool and the like of cord, a second portion for mounting the body member on a wall, panel or frame to position the cord dispensing apparatus for use thereof, and a tab portion for cutting a selected length of the cord off from the mass, ball, spool and the like. The tab portion has a free edge and a transversely extending slot adjacent to the tab portion edge and extending parallel to the tab portion edge, with an opening extending through the tab portion edge into the slot. A cutting blade extends across the slot for cutting the selected length of cord when a portion of the cord is passed through the opening into the slot and forced against the cutting blade. Preferably, the walls of the slot are tapered downwardly from the opening to the opposite ends of the slot to facilitate the cutting of the cord when the cord is pulled towards either of the slot ends.

Abstract: The dispenser has a housing (42) which comprises a roll holder for the dispenser roll (39) and an outlet opening (55). A stationary knife (12) projects out of the outlet opening (55). An apportioning roller (1) is supported in the housing (42) in the path of the web of material (39) from the dispenser roll (38) to the outlet opening (55); it is adapted for stepwise rotation and to be arrested in a certain angular position by a control lever (15) so as to define a section length of the web of material (39). The knife (12) normally is covered by a cover strip (10) adapted to be moved away from the knife (12) by pulling at the web of material (39). The cover strip (10) is connected to the control lever (15) in such manner that the latter releases the apportioning roller (1) whenever the web of material (39) has been severed.

Abstract: A dental floss dispenser comprising a molded unitary plastic housing composed of three main sections connected by two hinges which permits the dispenser to be easily opened and dental floss contained therein to be replaced by the user. A front section of the molded unitary plastic housing contains an opening and a molded post adjacent to the opening. A window assembly, molded of a transparent plastic, is engaged with the molded unitary plastic housing through placement of a hollow shaft having an axial bore capable of receiving the molded post over the molded post.

Abstract: A refillable dispenser for housing and dispensing one or more sheet materials packaged in boxed or roll form. Dispenser (10) is permanently attached to the underside of an existing cabinet or shelf and is preferably made substantially from wood to match the style and decor of kitchen cabinets. The dispenser is characterized by horizontally spaced vertical side panels (14) supportably attached to a pair of support beams (12), which are also are used to secure the dispenser to the cabinet. One of the side panels supports a cantilevered bottom shelf (16) extending toward an adjacent side panel such that a dispensing slot is formed. The bottom shelf is inclined from the adjoining panel such that a roll (32) of sheet material is held in place by the inclined bottom shelf and the side panel. The lower end of the adjacent panel supports a vertical serrated cutting edge (18). A door (20) attached with hinges from the support beam serves as an end panel and permits replacement of spent materials.

Abstract: A dispenser is provided for facilitating the dispensing of individual bags of a roll of plastic bags. The individual bags on the roll are separated by a tear line which includes a line of perforations and a central gap. The dispenser comprises a cylindrical container which has an elongated slot in its peripheral surface substantially parallel to the axis of the container. The container slot is wide enough to permit the bags to be pulled through it and it includes a tongue in its central area adapted to engage the gap in the tear line so that it can temporarily hold each bag as it is pulled through the slot thereby enabling the user to rupture the tear line.

Abstract: A paper cutting apparatus for use in combination with a facsimile telecommunications machine to neatly and efficiently sever paper dispensed from a facsimile machine. The apparatus of the present invention is usually of a unitary construction and includes two (2) main elements: a base plate, which is generally elongated and flat, and an end plate formed integrally therewith. The end plate is bent at an angle of approximately one hundred and five (105) to one hundred and twenty (120) degrees relative to the base. The end plate incorporates a slotted opening in which the cutting edge is formed.

Abstract: A dental floss dispenser system including a dental floss dispenser for retention on or attachment to a surface. The dental floss dispenser includes a self-contained disposable dental floss container or cassette, the container enclosing dental floss gathered for storage therein prior to being dispensed, and a support member. The support member includes a support mechanism for supporting and receiving the container. The container preferably includes a housing including a cap and a receptacle or upper and lower portions which can be joined together to form a single self-contained housing enclosing a spool of dental floss within an enclosure created thereby. A method of dispensing dental floss is also provided.

Abstract: Apparatus including a U-shaped bracket supporting an axle mounting a roll of tissue thereon. A triangular cross-sectional elongate abutment member that includes an elongate projecting edge oriented parallel to and below the axis of the roll of tissue mounted rearwardly thereof against a support surface mounting the tissue dispenser. Modification of the instant invention include an elongate serrated edge associated with a manual grasp bar the displacement of the serrated edge prior to removal of a preselected length of tissue from the roll. The serrated edge may optionally include a resilient deformable engagement strip preventing access of a leading edge of the tissue roll to the serrated edge until downward pressure displaces the strip to expose the underlying serrated edge.

Abstract: A guard for teeth on a cutting blade comprising a guard portion having a side part adapted to lay along one side of the teeth and a projecting part adapted to project past the points of the teeth, an anchor portion adapted to be fixed to the blade at a position spaced from the teeth, and a hinge portion of resiliently flexible polymeric material joining the guard and anchor portions. The hinge portion affords movement of the guard portion relative to the anchor portion from a normal protecting position along and projecting past the teeth, to a cut position spaced from the teeth so that the teeth can be used to cut material, while biasing the guard portion to its normal protecting position.

Abstract: A wrap dispenser comprises a generally rectangular box structure having a base, front and back walls, left and right side walls, and a hinged top or lid. A roll containment wall is mounted parallel to but displaced a short distance inwardly from said front wall, and serves to define the forward side of a central cavity to hold a roll of commercially-available plastic wrap within the dispenser. The front wall holds a cutting blade, and the top edge of the front wall includes a blade recess portion narrower than the width of the blade. The lid includes a recessed front edge that is wider than the blade recess portion, but narrower than the front wall itself. The side walls include recessed upper corners to enable a user to reach into the separation area between the containment wall and the front wall.

Abstract: A dental floss dispenser system including a dental floss dispenser for attachment to a surface is provided. The dental floss dispenser includes a self-contained disposable dental floss container or cassette, the container enclosing a spool of dental floss gathered for storage therein prior to being dispensed, and a support member for attachment to the surface, the support member including a support mechanism for supporting and receiving the container. The container includes a housing including a cap and a receptacle which can be joined together to form a single self-contained housing enclosing a spool of dental floss within an enclosure created thereby.

Abstract: A dental floss holder is in the form of a box with a drawer in it. The bottom of the drawer includes a hub which is spring biased to push a bobbin mounted thereon toward an opposite side of the box. The bias is such that the bobbin drags with a predetermined force on an opposite side of the box to maintain tension in the floss. A result is that the bobbin does not unwind while in the holder, thereby precluding a snarled floss line. Also, the tension gives a smooth "pull" which adds a "feel" of quality to the floss. The "feel" does not change as the diameter of the bobbin changes with either an exhaustion of floss or changes in the diameter of a full bobbin. The hub is mounted on a dome having sides with a shape which guides and directs any floss falling off the bobbin back onto it.

Abstract: A pin extending along an axis which is mutually parallel to the axis of rotation of a roll of tape and the axis of rotation of a roll of masking sheet in a masking machine deflects tape inboard from the normal tangential path between rolls whereby the tape is coursed into overlapping engagement while the edge of the roll of masking sheet material. An auxiliary roll of tape is rotatably carried by a subframe which is slidably engagable with a slot formed in the frame of a masking machine. The subframe, which is removable, is automatically retained by a manually releasable detent.

Abstract: A portable holder and dispenser for adhesive or pressure sensitive tape comprising a receptacle for containing a roll of tape, an opening being provided in the top panel of the receptacle for dispensing the tape, and a tape holder adapted for insertion into the bottom portion of the receptacle, the top panel being provided with serrations for engaging the adhesive surface of the tape.

Abstract: A small, lightweight ornamental tape dispenser is adapted for hand held, desk top, or wall mounted use, and accomodates both right and left handed withdrawal of tape while remaining in a wall mounted position. A wall mounting means, a tape roll holding means, and a free standing base means are disposed at the rear side of an ornamental planar front wall member.

Abstract: A two roll sheet material dispenser cabinet for paper towelling and the like has an automatic transfer system from one roll to the other when one roll is exhausted. The dispenser feeds sheet material sequentially and comprises a cabinet with first and second roll stations and a feed mechanism to feed sheet material from the rolls to a dispensing opening. The feed mechanism has a gripping roller, and a pressure plate pressed against the roller to provide a feed passage between the roller and plate, a feed mechanism rotates the gripping roller, the sheet material from one roll station is retained in the feed passage while sheet material from the other roll station is dispensed. When the sheet material from one roll station is exhausted, the feed mechanism automatically dispenses sheet material from the other station.

Abstract: A toilet paper case comprises a U-shaped housing, a curved cover plate hinged to the housing and a shaft for carrying a reel of toilet paper. The curved cover plate is provided with a forked end which has an inner toothed edge and an outer toothed edge. The inner toothed edge may be an edge with a series of sharp teeth, needles, or bumps or a rough edge face to engage with the paper so as to limit the unreeling of the paper, and the outer toothed edge includes sharp teeth to cut the paper. The cover plate is normally biased to an open position and a tongue-and-hole engagement means is provided to lock the cover plate in a closed position.

Abstract: A jumbo roll of toilet tissue wherein the initial section of the roll is perforated and the remainder is unperforated is dispensed from a dispenser having, in addition to a first spindle for supporting the jumbo roll, a second spindle for receiving the preceding roll of tissue after most of the tissue has been consumed. The spindles are secured by means that discourage pilferage of the rolls but permit access to them by an attendant when the rolls are changed. The second spindle is readily detachable and can be mounted on either side of the dispenser.

Abstract: Disclosed is a combined tape dispenser and hand-held tape applicator formed of a minimum of molded components designed for interlocking assembly without fasteners. The housing includes a handgrip lockable either in an extended position when employed to apply tape to a surface or in a retracted position when not in use or when used to dispense tape from a desk top support. The tape is mounted on a tape carrier normally biased to an extended tape-applicating position and manually retractable to expose a normally guarded cutting blade for severing the tape. While the carrier is moving between retracted and extended positions, a tape catcher clutches the tape reawardly from its free end and holds it captive with the free end thereof extending outwardly beyond the dispensing port in visible readiness for precise visible attachment to a surface to be taped.

Abstract: A collapsible spool holder. A pair of vertically spaced apart horizontally extending walls are telescopically inner-connected and mounted to a base and are arranged to move outwardly from the base to an erect position or to collapse into the base. Each horizontally extending wall along with the base include a plurality of upright rods each of which holds a spool of thread. A plurality of knife blades are mounted adjacent each rod to allow the thread to be severed from each spool without removal of the spool. A lid is removably mounted to and encloses the upright rods with spools.

Opposed roll supports are carried by opposed ones of the leg members. A tape support is carried by another of the leg members. Tape from the roll of tape on the tape support passes over an edge portion of the roll paper sheet to attach a portion of the tape to the edge portion of the roll paper sheet with the adhesive coating of another portion of the tape being exposed.

Abstract: A tape dispenser to allow multiple rolls of tape, some which are different widths, to be dispensed from a single dispenser without becoming entangled and sticking to the adjacent tape is disclosed. The dispenser contains two sets of blades spaced apart and attached to the dispenser housing. A guide bar is used adjacent to the lower blade to ensure the tape will approach the blade at an angle that will provide a clean cut. The tapes are placed on a tape core which is slid in an internal groove in the sides of the tape housing. The tapes are then fed to the cutting blades in an alternate manner which minimizes the risk of entanglement when being used.

A stationary knife (18) is provided downstream of said deflector (16), the edge of said knife (18) being arranged so as to face away from said feed-out location (17) and toward said deflector (16) and the edge of said knife forming an acute angle with said deflector means (16). Said deflector is a sheet shaped to be bendable toward the base of said knife, the edge of said knife (18) not contacting and cutting said paper web until the free end (4') of the web is pulled, e.g. by hand (19), in a direction forming an angle with said deflector (16) and, thus, bending it.

Abstract: An edge blending masking tape dispenser has an upright support plate and a base with a tear off edge above the base. A roll of adhesive coated masking tape is journaled and yieldably retained upon the support plate and passes over a tape edge folding and forming die which has a cam surface so as to constrict and upwardly deflect and form the leading one edge portion of the tape. The tape further passes over and around the tape support in tension with the upwardly deflected one edge of the tape folded down upon the adhesive side thereof. This provides a non-stick free floating edge along the tape to permit feathering and blending of new paint with an existing tape finish, when the masking tape is adhered thereto.

Abstract: A dispensing holder for adhesive tape comprises a body molded in one piece and an extruded closure member of elastomeric material impregnated with magnetic material. The closure member has a flat outer surface for magnetic adherence to an upright wall of a metal desk or filing cabinet and has ledges at its rear, extending along its top and bottom edges, that define grooves which open toward one another. The body has a flat wall at one side, is open at its other side, has top and bottom walls projecting from its side wall to its open side, and has a cylindrical protuberance projecting from its side wall to its open side on which a tape roll is rotatably receivable. At the open side of the body its top and bottom walls have edgewise oppositely projecting flanges that are received in the grooves in the closure member to slidably connect the body and closure member.

Abstract: The invention relates to a holder for paper rolls with central dispensing of the paper from the interior of the roll. There is a pull-out opening for the paper web in one end wall of the holder, where it is surrounded by a projecting, substantially tubular, tearing device with tearing teeth for tearing off the paper web. According to the invention, the holder is firstly made so that it can be mounted in any position, and secondly its tearing device is provided with protective projections, which extend beyond the tearing teeth.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided for controllably dispensing paper tissue from a spirally wound roll on a hollow core. The apparatus is comprised of holding means having a vertically oriented front panel, a floor and two side retaining members. The paper roll is supported on the floor such that the core is disposed horizontally and perpendicularly to the side members. A paper engaging means, supported by the holding means, and adapted for reciprocal motion in a linear path, advances the paper through an opening when moved in one direction, and does not move the paper when moved in the reverse direction.

Abstract: The disclosure teaches a dispensing package for elongated strands, such as cord, thread, yarn or the like, wound on a spool. The package is made of a rigid but flexible material, and preferably, an oleofin plastic material. The package includes a floor member and a parallel ceiling member spaced from the floor member by a wall structure. The wall structure includes a two-walled arrangement consisting of two walls at an angle to each other and connected to each other at a common edge thereof. A third wall is opposite to the two-wall arrangement and consists of tab members extending from both the floor and ceiling members. Attachment means are included on the tab so that the third wall can be either fastened or unfastened. An opening in the two-walled arrangement includes a blade holder which extends into the opening. Side notches in the side edges of the two-walled arrangement comprise retaining means for retaining the free end of the strands.

Abstract: A dispensing container formed of molded plastic and paperboard includes a pair of integral, molded plastic cylindrical supporting members bonded by the insert injection molding process to opposing surfaces of end walls of housing structure and is adapted for cooperation with each other to support a roll containing material to be dispensed from the roll. At the same time the supporting members are formed, an integral, molded plastic cutting member is also bonded by the insert injection molding process to the housing and extends between the end walls thereof for cutting material dispensed from the roll.

Abstract: An apparatus for transporting, cutting and dispensing heavy web sheet material such as cardboard, plastic film and the like, while in roll form. The apparatus includes a manually wheelable frame that can be selectively raised and lowered by a retractable handle at its rearward end to support the frame on a pair of front wheels for transporting the roll to the jobsite. Lowering the apparatus onto fixed rear legs supports the frame in a rest position for cutting and dispensing the sheet material. The frame has upright front and rear standards mounted in asymmetrical opposed relation on one side of the longitudinal center line of the frame. Thus, the roll is readily mounted in a stabilizing manner substantially along the frame center line by means of its roll axle shaft being supported on the inboard side of the standards.

Abstract: A dispenser for tinfoil and other sheet materials, wound on a roll, comprises a cylindrical roll-supporting mandrel fixedly secured to one of two flat cheeks and provided at its free end with a threaded extension of reduced diameter passing through a hole in the other cheek. The other cheek is held by a milled knob, threaded onto the outwardly projecting end of the mandrel extension, in contact with a tubular spacer of the same diameter as the mandrel, traversed by that extension, or with a disk-shaped counternut threaded onto that extension between the two cheeks whereby the effective length of the mandrel is adjustable to accommodate rolls of different sizes. A serrated blade paralleling the mandrel has one end fixed to the first sheet and traverses with its opposite end a slot in the other cheek.

Abstract: A rolled material guide and cutter attachable to a pre-existing rolled material holder is provided. The rolled material guide and cutter comprises a pair of attachment members that attach to the brackets of the pre-existing roll holder, an interconnecting member between the pair of attachment members and a cover member pivotally connected to the attachment members. The cover member and interconnecting member form a channel through which the paper is guided. A tearing edge is provided to tear the material at the exit of the channel.

Abstract: This adhesive tape dispenser is of one-piece construction with a flat horizontal rectangular base portion adapted to rest on the table. A flat rectangular tape-roll-holding portion rises at an acute angle to the base portion and has an inclined tape-roll-receiving slot of rectangular outline, the width of which corresponds to the width of the tape and the length of which is slightly smaller than the minimum diameter of the tape on the core upon which the tape is unwound. Rising from the opposite end of the base portion is a tape severing portion at the top of which is a horizontal edge provided with cutoff saw teeth.A modification has stepped upper and lower edges of the slot adapted to receive tape rolls of either of two standard tape widths.

Abstract: A paper towel dispenser includes a T-shaped base with the center leg defining a handle permitting the dispenser to be hand held for portability. The base further includes structure for demountably attaching the dispenser to a wall or other object. A pair of support arms extend from the opposite ends of the cross bar of the base to support a roll of towels therebetween and a retainer and cutter bar extends between the support arms at the end remote from the base for preventing the roll of towels from inadvertently unwinding and for providing a cutter against which the towels can be individually torn from the roll.

Abstract: A toilet paper unrolling fixture adapted for simple attachment to a conventional toilet paper holder includes a frame, a paper guide over which the free end of a roll of toilet paper passes, and a tear bar for enabling the user to quickly tear a length of paper from the roll.

Also provided on the base member, in addition to the spool arrangement, is a double-edge cutting arrangement disposed for severing tape wound in either tangential direction from a roll journaled on the spindle of the spool arrangement.

Abstract: A ticket dispensing assembly for dispensing tickets from a flexible strip is described having a container made up of a casing and a cover containing a roll comprising a strip of flexible material the end of which protrudes from the container. The strip has a series of penetrated lines spaced longitudinally along the strip with each line forming an individual tongue shaped flap extending from adjacent one marginal edge portion of the strip to adjacent the other marginal edge portion of the strip and projecting forwardly in the feeding direction of the strip.

Abstract: A dispenser for a toilet tissue roll for use with a toilet tissue roll holder wherein the roll is rotatably mounted on a bar forming a part of the holder, including a frame secured to the holder, a roller mounted to the frame over which the toilet tissue roll end is drawn, and a toilet tissue tear structure mounted to the frame and arranged below the top of the roller and formed by a body having an aperture therein for passing the toilet tissue end therethrough and further havng a blade-like edge adjacent the aperture through which the tissue exits, whereby when the roller means is manually rotated downwardly the end is urged over the roller means and through the aperture until the desired length of toilet tissue is passed through the body and thereafterwards the toilet tissue is manually gripped and urged upwardly to bring the toilet tissue into intimate abuttment with the blade-like edge to stress the tissue until separation thereof occurs.

Abstract: A novel tape dispenser especially useful in dispensing pressure-sensitive adhesive tape of the type having a plurality of longitudinally spaced zones which appreciably increase the force required to strip the tape from the roll compared to areas intermediate these zones. Features of the invention include: an adjustable blade on the dispenser frame, in one embodiment, which may set at desired distances from the roll to accommodate various dimensional characteristics of different tapes; a limiting structure for preventing the roll of tape from being pulled bodily out of the dispenser; and a unique arrangement for mounting and maintaining the tape such that the line of departure of tape from the roll is maintained in fixed position on the dispenser frame.In one embodiment the support means for the tape roll defines a path inclining downwardly toward a lip on the frame across which tape is drawn as it is stripped from the roll.
