Abstract: Packaging may include a base box and a lid having a tamper-evident seal. The tamper-evident seal may include a paper substrate having a first adhesive portion configured to attach to a side panel of the base box, a second adhesive portion configured to attach to a second side panel of the lid. The first and second adhesive portions may be disposed on opposing sides of the paper substrate, and a tab configured to be accessible on an exterior of a package when the tamper-evident seal is applied may be a part of the paper substrate. When the tab is pulled with sufficient force, the paper substrate tears such that the first adhesive portion and the second adhesive portion remain fixed to the first and second side panels, respectively, while the remainder of the paper substrate tears free so that the packaging may be opened.

Abstract: Devices and methods for blast/fire containment are disclosed herein. Devices include containers designed to contain and/or mitigate high energy events such as blasts from explosions or thermal runaways. The containers include a body that is built to define an interior chamber shaped to receive an explosive device or a device susceptible to thermal runaway. The container comprises a plurality of substructures that are arranged in a layered sequence to provide the desired effect. The substructures act in concert to decouple the shock load to the main containment structure using shock decoupling with energy dissipation and attenuation technology, having a highly deformable polymer structure, and managed venting. In thermally dominated events, such as a runaway LI battery fire, a crushable medium present in one or more layers of the container presents a significant thermal barrier and contains the fire.

Abstract: The present invention is a scalable, lockable container designed to prevent children from accessing the contents in the container. It includes an inner tray that is slidably mounted within an outer sleeve in releasable locking engagement. The lock mechanism includes a lock tab carried at one end of the inner tray that engages an engagement edge formed inside the outer sleeve. When so engaged, the inner tray is locked within the outer sleeve and cannot be removed from the outer sleeve. The lock tab is released by applying pressure to the outer sleeve, adjacent the lock tab, to disengage the lock tab from the engagement edge in the outer sleeve. This allows the lock tab to move past the outer sleeve engagement edge so the inner tray can be withdrawn from the outer sleeve, providing access to the contents of the box.

The container presents a base, a front wall, a rear wall, and sidewalls. The apparatus further includes a sleeve. The sleeve includes a top portion, a bottom portion, and sidewalls. The top portion, bottom portion, and sidewalls form an interior. The container stores a food product such as a sandwich and an article such as tissue paper. The sleeve slidably receives the container. A user slides open the container from the sleeve and removes the food product. Subsequently, the user places the food product through the interior with support from the front wall. The user slides the container in the interior from one end to another end of the sleeve while consuming the food product. The apparatus allows the user to consume the food product without contacting the food product.

The internal cartridge is slidable within the outer shell between an inserted position and a withdrawn position. A first cover is hingedly attached to the internal cartridge by a first hinge. The first cover pivots about the first hinge between a closed position for covering the first storage cavity and an open position for providing access to the first storage cavity. The first cover is attached to the internal cartridge such that the first cover cannot pivot to the open position until the internal cartridge is in the withdrawn position.

The first and second sides of the outer sleeve have at least a double thickness adjacent to first and second outer sleeve apertures formed therein. The slide-out tray includes a first side with a minor first side flap folded thereon and a second side with a minor second side flap folded thereon. The slide-out tray is received in the outer sleeve. The pop-up carton is attached to the slide-out tray and located within the slide-out tray in a first position. The slide-out tray initially moves with respect to the outer sleeve by contacting the first and second side flaps via respective first and second outer sleeve apertures and the slide-out tray via a third outer sleeve aperture. The pop-up carton is moved within the slide-out tray to a position extending from the slide-out tray.

A cardboard package has a container formed from a first cardboard sheet, a first wall extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a second wall opposing the first wall and extending between the proximal and distal ends, a first recess in one of the first wall or the second wall, and a first protrusion extending inwardly from the one of the first wall or the second wall, the first protrusion positioned proximal of the first recess. The cardboard package has a tray formed from a second cardboard sheet, the tray having a first resilient member in one of a first wall or a second wall, the first resilient member shaped and positioned to removably engage the first protrusion in the container, whereby the tray is maintained in a closed position.

The product container has a body portion for receiving the product and a rigid end cap which sealingly engages with the body portion so as to house the product. The end cap is dimensioned to fit closely within the opening of the sleeve and includes a peripheral rim that, when the end cap is inserted into the sleeve opening, engages the sleeve end and prevents the end cap from being inserted further into the opening.

A biasing member on the insert is configured to be in contact with the top and bottom walls of the sleeve, urging the first latch element into engagement with the second latch element. The sleeve includes an internal locking restriction secured to a wall thereof, and the card includes a tail end having an integral latch. The sleeve includes visually defined squeeze locations on opposite side edges thereof that correspond to a location of the internal locking restriction.

The false end wall extends between a top wall and a bottom wall to enhance the structural integrity of the outer sleeve. The false end wall also prevents a user from accessing the slide card through an opening that is created by removing an end wall.
