The passcodes of an individual electronic device is reset to a value that is generated using a predefined function of a randomly generated support code. The support code is displayed to the user, and the user is instructed to contact a support service in order to obtain the new passcode. The support service independently authenticates the user, calculates the new device passcode using the same predefined function used by the electronic device, and provides the new passcode to the user.

Abstract: Electronic content, including that obtained via software applications executing on client devices, pertaining to golfers' handicap indices and scoring is automatically obtained by golf clubs and other courses. Such player data can be electronically monitored and analyzed in real-time in accordance with expected score qualities and guidelines in the sport. In particular, one or more algorithms may be routinely executed to look for various data point indicators which may mean a player is manipulating his or her handicap index. The systems and methods can objectively generate an overall score for every participating player, based at least in part on deduction of points for data determined abnormal based on expected qualities. Should a player's overall score reach a predetermined flagging level, the systems and methods automatically adjust the player's handicap to promote fair play. Machine learning schema can assist in tasks such as scoring analyses and automated handicap adjustments.

Abstract: Methods and systems for provisioning a secure element of a digital device with financial credentials of a consumer are disclosed. In an embodiment, an external entity computer receives from one of a merchant computer or a manufacturer computer, a consumer order for a digital device that includes a secure element (SE). The external entity computer then obtains, based on the digital device information setup data of a digital device which fulfills the order, and transmits a financial account provisioning request including the setup data and the consumer account information to a token service provider (TSP) computer. The process also includes the external entity computer receiving provisioning data including a personalization script which includes financial account token credentials of the consumer from the TSP computer, and then personalizes the ordered digital device with the financial account token credentials.

The microcontroller can activate, responsive to the instruction, the slot to establish an electrical connection between an integrated circuit card in the slot and a proxy card in a terminal device. The microcontroller can receive, subsequent to initiation of a synthetic transaction, an indication that the synthetic transaction is complete. The microcontroller can deactivate, subsequent to receipt of the indication that the synthetic transaction is complete, the slot to terminate the electrical connection between the integrated circuit card in the slot and the proxy card to cause the terminal device to detect a card removal event without physical removal of the proxy card.

Abstract: An intelligent alert system triggers potential cases based on a set of scenarios and sends the potential cases to investigators. After the investigation, the intelligent alert system records in a database the investigation results for each potential case, the associated set of scenarios that triggered the potential case, and the date and the time of such investigation. As a result, the intelligent alert system can gradually learn from the investigators and will automatically make decisions for some future potential cases with little human involvement.

Electric current may be induced in the first NFC component when the first NFC component is within an electromagnetic field generated by a second NFC component of a transaction terminal. The transaction card may dynamically activate one or more output components associated with the transaction card based on the amount of electric current induced in the first NFC component. The one or more output components may indicate whether the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal. The transaction card may perform an action related to completing a transaction after determining that the amount of electric current induced in the NFC component satisfies a first threshold. The first threshold may indicate that the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal.

Abstract: A card with an embedded location tracker that can assist with locating a misplaced, lost, or stolen card is described. The location tracking device is embedded into the material forming the card. Other devices can form a crowdsourced network covering a wide geographic area that may be used to detect signals from the location tracking device of the card using a short-range wireless communication technology. When the card becomes misplaced, lost, or stolen, the card holder or the card issuer may use the embedded location tracking device to determine the current location of the card. In one embodiment, a tamper mechanism may also be provided to disable a chip of the card in response to an attempt to deactivate, destroy, or remove the embedded location tracking device from the card.

Various aspects may include receiving a selection of a stored financial card or financial account at a vehicle head unit. The selected financial card or financial account may be transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal for making a payment by transmitting a tokenized card number to the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted over a very short-range communication link to ensure that the transmission is secure. For example, electronic circuitry may be attached to the exterior of the vehicle, where the electronic circuitry may be within a threshold distance (e.g. one inch, three inches, six inches, one foot, three feet, etc.) of the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted from the vehicle head unit to the electronic circuitry and then to the POS terminal.
