Abstract: A method of communicating devices using virtual buttons comprises receiving, by a user device, a store code and transmitting, by the user device, the store code to a server; searching, by the server, for virtual buttons corresponding to the store code, and transmitting, by the server, to the user device the virtual buttons corresponding to the store code; providing, by the user device, an interface configured to receive a location identifier and button selection input among the virtual buttons received from the server, and transmitting, by the user device, the location identifier and the button selection input to the server; transmitting, by the server, to a staff device the location identifier and the button selection input; and receiving, by the staff device, the location identifier and the button selection input and displaying information associated with the location identifier and requested service corresponding to the button selection input.

Abstract: A transmit receive switch (TRSW) system is disclosed. The system has a transmission line, a transformer based matching network, a shunt switch, an amplifier and circuitry. The transmission line is connected to an antenna port. The transformer based matching network is connected to the transmission line and has a first coil and a second coil, wherein the second coil is connected to the transmission line. The amplifier can be configured as a shunt switch when inactive. The shunt switch, including the amplifier configured as the shunt switch, can be connected to the first coil of the transformer based matching network. The circuitry is configured to cause the shunt switch to be ON during an inactive mode and create a short across the first coil. Combined, the length of transmission line needed to complete the impedance transformation is reduced, thereby lowering the overall insertion loss of the transmit/receive switch.

Abstract: An interactive casino system and method of redeeming casino vouchers is provided. The interactive casino system has an application on a computing device which is in communication with a database. The application is configured to deposit a currency represented by at least one casino voucher directly into a paired bank account via the database. The application also includes an identification process in the form of scanning a barcode or the like on the voucher. The application further includes a credit building system which can be used to build and store refundable credits on the database after a pre-determined amount of money is spent in a casino. The application similarly comprises a travel point system which can be used to build and store a redeemable travel credit on the database which can be redeemed for a transportation ticket on a paired carrier.

Abstract: A payment device comprising of a housing, a slot for insertion of a user instrument located on a front surface of the housing, and wherein the housing includes a smart card interface integrated circuit that is configured to read an EMV chip located on the user instrument, and a universal serial bus (USB) type C male connector configured to be inserted into a female connector on a computing device, wherein the USB type C male connector is located on a back surface of the housing, and wherein a size of the USB type C male connector is configured so that when the USB type C male connector is inserted into the female connector on the computing device, the back surface of the housing is within a distance of three centimeters of a surface of the computing device.

Abstract: A management terminal manages a plurality of Self-Service Terminals (SSTs) for customer-assistance, transaction overrides, theft determinations, and transaction security audits. One or more overhead cameras stream real-time video of the transactions being processed at the SSTs to a server. Transaction data produced in real time at the SSTs are also provided to the server. The video is correlated with the transaction data and evaluated for security events. The video is also cached on the server. An operator of the management terminal can access a video review interface based on events and/or information visually gleaned by the operator during the transactions. The interface permits the operator to view a configured cached portion of the video captured for any given transaction to provide context to the operator for determining whether to perform or whether not to perform a transaction audit.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may provide detection of a physical characteristic of a credential, thereby allowing for authentication of the credential. According to some aspects, these and other benefits may be achieved by detecting the physical characteristic with the credential in two or more orientations. A first image of a credential in a first orientation and a second image of the credential in a second orientation may be received. An optical characteristic of a secure feature of the credential may be determined based on light reflected from the secure feature in both the first image and the second image. An expected optical characteristic of the secure feature may be determined based on known properties of the secure feature. A determination as to whether the credential is authentic may be based how a comparison of the determined optical characteristic of the secure feature to the expected optical characteristic of the secure feature.

Abstract: Systems, methods, articles of manufacture, and computer-readable media for determining specific terms to activate a contactless card. An application executing on a server may receive a request from a device specifying a uniform resource locator comprising encrypted data, the encrypted data based at least in part on a private key assigned to a contactless card. The application may decrypt the encrypted data and determine a type of the contactless card. The application may determine a plurality of terms associated with the type of the contactless card and transmit the terms to a web browser on the device. The application may receive, from the web browser, an indication specifying acceptance of the plurality of terms. The application may store, based on the decryption of the encrypted data and the received indication specifying acceptance of the terms, an indication in a database specifying the contactless card is activated for use.

Abstract: A technique for managing a right of access to a service for a communicating device. A security element of the device authenticates a security element of an electrical power supply module subsequent to a detection of a start of distribution of electrical energy to the device so as to power it electrically. These security elements are then associated. The security element of the power supply module then configures the security element of the device, the latter having, once configured, a right of access to a valid service allowing it to access the service and this right of access remaining valid as long as the device is powered by this electrical power supply module.

Abstract: The present specification provides an identity recognition method and device. The method comprises: collecting data of address books, each address book comprising multiple identity information pairs of multiple users, and each identity information pair comprising a name and a mobile phone number; searching for an identity information pair to be recognized in the data of address books, the identity information pair to be recognized comprising a name and a mobile phone number of a user to be recognized; and in response to that the searching result satisfies a risk condition, determining that the user to be recognized has a risk.

Abstract: A computing system implements a network transaction service. Users of the network transaction service can launch a service application to indicate a transaction at a location of a merchant. A transaction data set is then received from a point-of-sale terminal of the merchant, which enables the computing system to fund the transaction from a shared funding source of the network transaction service. Subsequently, the computing system can access a customer account of the user to reimburse the shard funding account for an amount corresponding to the transaction.

Abstract: A peripheral PINpad is connected to a host terminal. The PINpad includes an integrated camera/scanner, a secure processor, secure storage, and a network interface. The PINpad is configured to process in an independent mode of operation and a host-dependent mode of operation. Images captured by the integrated camera/scanner are decoded on the PINpad. The decoded image information, depending on a processing context, is not provided to and is not available to the host terminal. The PINpad is further configured to perform network interactions with external servers independent of the host terminal.

An example barcode reader is configured to operate in a pre-determined repetitive pattern of capturing a first frame and capturing a second frame over a reading cycle having a fixed duration after a triggering event, wherein the first frame is captured over a first exposure period having a first duration, and the second frame is captured over a second exposure period having a second duration, and wherein the first frame is associated with a first brightness parameter, and the second frame is associated with a second brightness parameter.

Abstract: Systems and methods are configured for maintaining identifying data of a first user in association with a personal device of the first user; maintaining a rolling recording of medical data generated at the personal device of the first user, wherein the rolling recording encompasses data generated during a defined duration of time; receiving a request to access the medical data from a second device, wherein the request comprises authorization credentials associated with the second device; and upon verification that the authorization credentials are associated with an authorized user, providing, to the second device, access to the rolling recording of medical data generated at the personal device of the first user.

Abstract: In certain aspects, the disclosed implementations include methods and systems for providing transaction affinity merchant recommendation information performed by transaction affinity platform computing components that execute software stored in a memory. In certain aspects, the disclosed implementations may determine transaction affinity relationship data for transactions associated with a set of account records. Each account record in the set of account records may be associated with a set of users. The disclosed implementations may also determine transaction affinity relationship profiles based on transaction affinity profile parameters that are associated with the transaction affinity relationship data and first transaction data. Further, the disclosed implementations may determine one or more transaction affinity patterns based on the transaction affinity relationship data and the transaction affinity relationship profiles.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing a fuel dispensing account associated with fuel dispensing transactions. A fuel dispensing apparatus includes a receiver configured for wireless communication with a user device. The fuel dispensing apparatus receives a request to dispense fuel from the user device via the receiver and associates the fuel request with a primary user account stored in a user database. A notification is sent to one or more users of the primary account requesting instructions regarding the fuel request. Fuel is dispensed from the fuel dispensing apparatus if instructions are received from a user of the primary account authorizing the request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for student accountability systems. School buses can be equipped with a bus system that executes a driver application. Students carry student identification (ID) systems that identify the students to the bus system, which in turn reports a geographic location to a student accountability system. The bus system is configured to permit rapid boarding and easy usage by drivers. The student accountability system provides a parent portal and an administrator portal to monitor the students and provide other useful functions.

Abstract: A multi-function transaction card may determine whether to submit a first payment as a passive payment device or to receive a second payment from another transaction card. The multi-function transaction card may have a length and a width that are in accordance with a standard for transaction cards. The multi-function transaction card may selectively perform a payment transaction based on determining whether to submit the first payment or to receive the second payment. The payment transaction may be performed by providing first card data to a transaction terminal for processing when the multi-function transaction card is to submit the first payment. The payment transaction may be performed by receiving second card data from the other transaction card, and processing the second card data via online data authentication, or via offline data authentication, when the multi-function transaction card is to receive the second payment.

Abstract: A method of operating a payment-enabled mobile device includes detecting, by the mobile device, that the mobile device is in proximity to a non-retail contactless transaction terminal. The method further includes permitting operation of an application program in the mobile device. The permitting of operation of the application program is in response to the detected proximity of the non-retail contactless transaction terminal. The operation of the application program is to engage in a transaction with the non-retail contactless transaction terminal while bypassing a user verification feature of the application program.

Abstract: A combination magnetic-stripe card reader with integrated contact-less chip card read/write functions, a direct replacement for a standard player tracking magnetic-stripe card reader installed in slot machines. It is a form, fit and function for existing player tracking readers, having the same front panel appearance, the same physical envelope, using the same mounting method, using the same cable connections and operating in the identical manner. The combined functions requires two command sets and a method to distinguish between them, the legacy command set of the existing reader to be replaced which is typically strings of American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) eight bit characters with a line terminator character and the contact-less chip card requiring the ability to send and receive all possible eight bit values with varying length commands and not having a dedicated character value to indicate the end of a command.

Abstract: A method may include obtaining unpaired transactions each including a transaction ID, an entity ID, and attributes that each correspond to an attribute type, deriving transaction groups by grouping the unpaired transactions using their entity IDs, and dividing a transaction group into a first transaction subgroup and a second transaction subgroup. The method may further include constructing a tree for the first transaction subgroup based on an attribute type, and matching a first transaction of the first transaction subgroup with a second transaction of the second transaction subgroup by searching the tree while applying a matching criterion to the transactions of the second transaction subgroup. The matching criterion may correspond to the attribute type. The method may further include: forming a matched transfer pair including the entity ID of the transaction group, the transaction ID of the first transaction, and the transaction ID of the second transaction.

Abstract: Radio-Frequency identification (RFID) locationing systems and methods for locating one or more items positioned within a defined space are disclosed herein. An example embodiment includes energizing, by an RFID reader having an RFID antenna, an RFID tag corresponding to an item positioned within a defined space. Each of a first signal strength and a second signal strength of the RFID tag is detected, respectively, by a first RFID receiver node of a first node channel and a second RFID receiver node of a second node channel. A controller alternates a multiplexor to receive at the multiplexor each of first signal strength data from the first RFID receiver node and second signal strength data from the second RFID receiver node. The first signal strength data and the second signal strength data is provided to the RFID reader and combined to determine a location of the item positioned within the defined space.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to initiating or triggering a cardswap action for a customer based on a determination that one or more third-party cards associated with the customer have likely been reissued. The determination may be based on the analysis performed by an analytics model on customer transaction data corresponding to the customer. The analytics model may be trained using various patterns, trends, or characteristics observed in the customer transaction data around a timeframe of an actual reissue event. When a likely reissue event has been determined, one or more customer cards may be presented to the customer for swapping out the reissued third-party cards with a customer card.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that improves usage of an application. During operation, the system identifies, in a set of social media posts, a question related to use of the application. Next, the system responds to the set of social media posts with a set of answers to the question on one or more social media platforms and tracks social media responses to the set of answers. The system then calculates a set of relevance scores for the answers based on the tracked social media responses, wherein each relevance score represents a relevance of one of the answers to the question. Upon identifying the question in a subsequent social media post, the system selects an answer from the set of answers based on a relevance score of the answer and posts the answer in response to the subsequent social media post.

Abstract: Introduced here is a technology that enables a merchant to create customer-targeted, customized communications by use of a merchant platform executing on a financial service system. The merchant platform generates content for communications that is based on a particular customer segment. The customer segment includes one or more groups of customers segmented based on one or more attributes associated with each group of customers. An attribute is determined based on data collected by the financial service system, where the data is related to transaction data of a plurality of merchants.

The face processing method comprising: extracting a plurality of features from a primary two-dimensional face image to generate a first feature vector; decomposing a three-dimensional face image into a plurality of base face images and a plurality of weighting factors corresponding to the base face images; generating a first two-dimensional code according to the first feature vector; and generating a second two-dimensional code according to the weighting factors.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for a smart card which enables users to initiate a transaction or money transfer using voice commands. The apparatus and methods may include a smart card. The smart card may be responsive to voice commands and support electronic communication with a payment network. The smart card may include a housing, a network interface controller including a wireless communication interface, a voice controller, an active near-field communication chip, a microprocessor, a battery and/or an activation button. The smart card may also include executable instructions stored in a non-transitory memory, that when run by the microprocessor, detect and capture a first audio message via the voice controller and perform speaker-dependent speech recognition on the captured audio message to identify whether or not an authorized user of the smart card generated the audio message.

Abstract: Techniques for automated transactions are provided. A customer uses a mobile device to interact with an enterprise automation terminal to perform a transaction. At the start of the transaction, a unique barcode for the transaction is generated and displayed to the customer. The mobile device scans the barcode (can be a QR code); this causes the mobile device to communicate with a remote server that identifies the customer. Preferences for the customer are retrieved and the transaction and features of the terminal are configured based on the preferences. The transaction proceeds with the configured preferences.

Abstract: A method of automating a fraud classification process includes generating or updating fraud classification rules, at least by training a machine learning program using fraud classifications of a plurality of financial accounts and financial transaction data associated with those accounts. The method also includes retrieving first financial transaction data associated with a first financial account, and selecting, by applying the fraud classification rules to the first financial transaction data, a first fraud classification. The first fraud classification may be selected from among a plurality of predetermined fraud classifications. Abstract: A system and method provide efficient, secure, and highly reliable authentication for transaction processing and/or access control applications. A Personal Digital Key stores one or more profiles (e.g., a biometric profile) in a tamper-proof memory that is acquired in a secure trusted process. Biometric profiles comprise a representation of physical or behavioral characteristics that are uniquely associated with an individual that owns and carries the PDK. The PDK wirelessly transmits the biometric profile over a secure wireless transaction to a Reader for use in a biometric authentication process. The Reader compares the received biometric profile to a biometric input acquired at the point of transaction in order to determine if the transaction should be authorized.

Upon subsequent use of the web resource, a visit identifier may be generated and utilized to perform an inverse transformation of the transformed image and display the result, where the resulting image will be the same as the secure image if the visit identifier matches the unique identifier.

Abstract: A method including receiving a request from a provider to perform a provisioning of an account to a mobile wallet operating on a mobile device. The method also can include sending an inquiry to a risk determination system to authenticate the provisioning of the account to the mobile wallet. The risk determination system can generate a fraud risk level by applying business rules and one or more statistical modeling techniques. The method additionally can include receiving from the risk determination system a response based on the fraud risk level. The method further can include determining whether to proceed with the provisioning of the account to the mobile wallet based at least in part on the response received from the risk determination system. The method additionally can include providing a token to the provider in response to the request to perform the provisioning of the account to the mobile wallet when the fraud risk level is below a predetermined threshold. In some embodiments, the user can complete the transaction without having or creating an account with the payment service.

Abstract: A customer uses a mobile device to acquire a mobile app thereon. The mobile device is configured by a cloud-based service to escrow one or more card numbers mapped by a financial facility to the customer's primary account's number. Further security limitations can be configured into the mobile app by the cloud-based service. Subsequently, the customers uses the mobile app at a point-of-sale location to access one or more of the escrowed card numbers to make purchases; these purchases can be made while the mobile device lacks any connectivity to a network.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for establishing personal connections in a network following secure verification of interested parties. The disclosed embodiments may involve a system comprising a memory and a processor.
