Abstract: The invention relates to an aerosol can comprising a body containing a propellant and an aerosol product, a valve whose actuation enables said aerosol product to be sprayed, and a spray head (1) which serves to discharge the aerosol product to the environment when the valve is actuated. The spray product discharge rate of the inventive aerosol can is adjustable by means of an adjusting device provided in the spray head (1). Said invention can primarily be used for aerosol paint cans in view of the fact that for such applications a controlled and uniform discharge rate is of particular importance in order to avoid painting defects.

Abstract: A trigger sprayer has a housing, a piston bore within the housing, and a piston reciprocally mounted with the piston bore. The housing further includes a flow passage through which liquid passes from a passage inlet to a passage outlet. An actuator is operable to reciprocate the piston within the piston bore between a vacuum stroke creating reduced pressure in the piston bore and a compression stroke creating increased pressure in the piston bore. A valve unit within the flow passage controls the flow of liquid through the flow passage upon operation of the actuator. The valve unit further comprises a check valve and priming valve. The check valve is shaped in a frusto-conical manner and is assembled into the check valve seat which is not part of the housing but is a separate component. The sprayer has a free spinning threaded type closure for mounting the sprayer to a container, the closure formed separately from and secured to said housing.

The spray pump assembly comprises a pump housing operatively connected to the bottle, a dip tube extending from the pump housing to the texture material within the bottle, and an actuator member. The resilient member is supported by the pump housing to define an outlet opening. The collar member is supported by the pump housing such that the collar member is movable relative to the resilient member. Moving the collar member relative to the resilient member deforms the resilient member to alter a cross-sectional area of the outlet opening. The actuator member is displaced to force the texture material through the dip tube, out of the bottle member, through the outlet opening, and onto the target surface.
