Abstract: A D-ring for a shoulder strap assembly and brassiere can have a catch which enables the D-ring to be locked in use or opened for lateral insertion of the loop of the shoulder strap. The catch can be formed by a pin on the bow of the D-ring laterally engageable in an eye of a limb.

Abstract: An adjuster for a cord includes a first end and a second end and the adjuster can be translated between a first and a second position. The first end can be attached to a looped member such as a belt and the looped member can be attached to a support surface. The adjuster includes a tortuous path configured to accept the cord. When the cord is inserted, the tortuous path divides the cord into a first portion and a second portion. When tension is applied to the second portion of the cord, the resultant friction forces exceed the tension force such that the position of the cord in the adjuster is maintained while the adjuster is in the first position. A force exerted on the second end of the adjuster can translate the adjuster to the second position where the friction force exerted by the tortuous path is substantially reduced such that the cord can be repositioned be exerting tension on either the first or the second portion of the cord.

Abstract: A lingerie strap and slide assembly has the central bar of the slide of set or recessed and formed with spikes to which the strap end is welded. The slide has its thickest portions at the centers of the transverse bars at which the central bar merges with the remainder of the slide. The strap passes around the central bar or directly through one of the slots to a ring and returns through that slot across the central bar and through the other slot in the slide to the shoulder of the wearer.

Abstract: A loop hanger for a seat belt (10) which slidably hangs a seat belt webbing (S) is provided with a base member (20) made of a metal plate and having a slot (21) through which the seat belt webbing (S) is moved, wherein the slot (21) is constituted with a long side portion (21a) extending in a generally horizontal direction and a pair of left and right short side portions (21b) communicating with left and right end portions of the long side portion (21a) and extending downwardly, a portion of the base member (20) surrounded by the long side portion (21a) and the pair of short side portions (21b) is curved smoothly from a side of the long side portion (21a) in a generally C-shaped sectional configuration, and a curved face (21f) formed by curving the portion of the base member (20) serves as a portion (20a) through which the seat belt webbing (S) is turned back. Accordingly, anti-gum up property can be improved largely.

The ajuster mates with the adjustment teeth to extend or retract the seat back relative to the seat shell when the adjuster is rotated.

Abstract: A slide and slide assembly for lingerie and brassieres have the end of a strap bonded to the central bar of the slide at the same side as that at which the strap is threaded around the central bar of the slide to limit slippage of the slide relative to the strap.

Abstract: A shoulder strap repositioner for use in combination with a vehicle seat belt assembly having a lap belt and a diagonally-extending shoulder strap. The repositioner is generally “S” shaped in cross section and includes a generally flat panel-like intermediate portion, a generally flat panel-like upwardly extending rear tongue attached at the bottom by a lower connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the lap belt, and a generally flat panel-like downwardly extending front tongue attached at the top by an upper connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the shoulder strap.

Abstract: A unitary shoulder strap neck reliever for a seatbelt having two straps comprising a base with a front side and a back side, said base including an H-shaped slit having a left opening and a right opening, and a clip connected to said base defining a strap holding area therebetween, wherein the first strap is threaded into said left opening and along the back side of the base and threaded out through said right opening, and the second strap is clipped into said strap holding area.

Thereby, the boundary between the molded part and the resin piece is disposed inside the groove without conspicuousness. Moreover, a projection part of a mold for forming the groove is disposed between the synthetic resin materials comprising the resin piece and the molded part when molding the molded part. Accordingly, the heat of the molten synthetic resin material comprising the molded part is not transmitted directly to the resin piece on the surface of the through anchor.

Abstract: A structure of an adjusting buckle for a shoulder strap includes an integrally formed adjusting buckle body and a press-release button, wherein the adjusting buckle body has two inner slots and two outer slots, the press-release button has a bottom formed with two protuberances configured and positioned to engaged the two outer slots, and the shoulder strap is made of silicone and passes through the two inner slots, whereby when the press-release button is engaged with the adjusting buckle body, the shoulder strap will be kept in a firm position.

Abstract: This invention relates to a device to be used for tending straps and also to be used as a whistle. More particularly, this invention relates to a device for tending straps with a whistle integrated within the device where both the whistling and strap-tending functions are independently operable. While whistles may be included as individual pieces of gear they are often not available when desired. This invention facilitates the inclusion of a whistle by combining it with items designed to tend the straps on gear that is more commonly carried.

Abstract: To improve the grasp on the tongue of a seat belt, a handle extends from the seat belt tongue in the forward direction of the seat belt and is attached in a rotating manner to the central or rear portion of the tongue to perform rotation of the tongue in relation to the handle when the handle is grasped and pulled forward to fasten the seat belt.

Abstract: A shoulder strap repositioner for use in combination with a vehicle seat belt assembly having a lap belt and a diagonally-extending shoulder strap. The repositioner is generally “S” shaped in cross section and includes a generally flat panel-like intermediate portion, a generally flat panel-like upwardly extending rear tongue attached at the bottom by a lower connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the lap belt, and a generally flat panel-like downwardly extending front tongue attached at the top by an upper connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the shoulder strap.

Abstract: A disposable surgical gown of back-closable type includes a basic body composed of a front body, first and second rear bodies separated from each other and a pair of sleeves. The first and second rear bodies are in advance developed in a circumferential direction and folded back onto the front body so that free side edge regions of the rear bodies lie on the outer surface of the front body. The free side edge regions are connected to each other by a tape member which has its transversely opposite side regions bonded to the respective free side edge regions at longitudinally middle zones thereof so as to extend in the circumferential direction and a perforation extending in a longitudinal direction between the opposite side regions along which perforation 16 the tape member may be cut off in two in the circumferential direction.

Abstract: A latch plate for use with a seat belt and seat belt buckle, the latch plate comprising: a metal load-bearing plate including a generally flat tongue engageable with a locking feature of the seat belt buckle, a first portion of the bearing plate, rearward of the tongue, having a first surface, the first surface including a lateral extending rearward edge; the bearing plate, in a second portion thereof, including an integrally formed tab having a laterally extending forward edge, the forward edge of the tab overlaying the rearward edge of the first surface, the tab being spaced a determinable distance from the first surface defining a thin channel or opening therebetween through which the seat belt is received, the distance being sufficiently narrow to lessen the likelihood of the seat belt becoming twisted in the channel.

Abstract: A seatbelt buckle tongue has a buckling part and an aperture through which seatbelt webbing passes. The extent of sliding of the tongue on the webbing is limited by at least one protrusion provided on the inside of the aperture in the tongue. A protrusion may be round, square or formed of a line of a plurality of buttons dimensioned and arranged to apply pressure to the webbing passing through the tongue and resist sliding of the tongue on the webbing.

Abstract: A device for enlarging the opening of the loop of a ski strap including a base being in bended contact with the ski strap while possessing rigidity for enlarging the opening. A plurality or retention strips are pivotally mounted on the base. The base includes openings for receiving male projections affixed to the retention strips such that the retention strips overlap the base in a locked relationship on the ski strap.

Abstract: The buckle includes a web adjustment member which further includes a first lacing bar, a second lacing bar and a third lacing bar about which webbing is laced. The first and second lacing bars are positioned relatively proximate to each other so that a pinch point is formed in the webbing proximate to the first and second lacing bars. This pinch point resists loosening of the webbing with respect to the buckle. A third lacing bar, which is relatively distant from the first and second lacing bars, maintains the pinch point during rotation of the buckle.

Abstract: A dielectric D-ring of the type having a hook receiving opening at one end and a strap or cable receiving opening at the other. The dielectric D-ring comprises a D-ring blank encased within a dielectric injection molded plastic shell. The blank has a plurality of plastic receiving holes therethrough that receive plastic when the dielectric plastic shell is injection molded about the blank. The plastic filled holes assist in holding together the portions of the plastic shell situated on opposite sides of the blank.

Abstract: A lockable strap divider comprising a strap receiving portion having side walls and a transverse bar mounted at a central point between the side walls, and a clamping portion pivotally connected to the rear end of the strap receiving portion. There is a clamping device on the two portions for releasably locking the clamping portion over the strap receiving portion. Unlocking the clamping device from the strap receiving portion allows straps threaded through the transverse bar on the strap receiving portion to be adjusted. Locking the clamping portion over the strap receiving portion locks the straps in place. The locking and unlocking of the clamping portion can easily be done while the helmet is still on the wearer's head, so that adjustments can be made without removing the helmet. The adjustments can also usually be done with one hand.

Abstract: A buckle, for example a seat belt buckle, is disclosed for guiding two belt runs. The buckle 40 comprises a first passage for a first belt and a second passage for a second belt, the two passages meeting at a meeting region. The second passage has its width from side to side greater than its thickness from top to bottom and is provided with an opening 41 through which the second belt may be easily inserted into or removed from the second passage.

Abstract: A brassiere slider has its crossbar recessed below the planes of edges of the longitudinal limits which limits sliding of the frame on a strap. The recessed configuration of the crossbar makes the assembly flatter and also increases the security against slide movement of the slider on the strap.

Abstract: A child restraining apparatus for mounting in a passenger seat of a vehicle is provided. In one embodiment, the child restraining apparatus has an improved vehicle seat belt pathway to accommodate vehicles having particularly forward or high seat belt anchor positions. The child restraining apparatus can also include easily identifiable seat belt pathways corresponding to the seat's forward seat-facing and rear seat-facing orientations and an adjustable harness with easily identifiable harness placements corresponding to the seat's forward facing and rearward facing orientations. In the forward facing orientation, the improved vehicle seat belt pathway generally provides an entry point for a vehicle seat that is disposed forward of, and above, the seating surface of the child car seat.

Abstract: A musical cymbal and handstrap assembly includes a musical cymbal, a cymbal handstrap clip, and a handstrap. The handstrap has a hand portion extending through an aperture in the cymbal at a first convex side of the cymbal and a securement portion extending at the second concave side of the cymbal. The handstrap clip includes a body, a pair of free arms extending from and generally along respective opposite sides of the body, and an aperture which holds a base portion of the hand portion of the handstrap. The arms and sides of the body together define slots through which the securement portion of the handstrap extends to be releasably and adjustably secured.

Abstract: A connecting device for a pair of swimming goggles includes a first end securely attached to a frame of the swimming goggles and a second end including a first part and a second part releasably engaged with the first part. The strap is movable between the first part and the second part to adjust a length of a strap when the first part and the second part are disengaged from each other. The strap is retained in position between the first part and the second part when the first part and the second part are engaged with each other.

Abstract: A harness clip, for use on a child restraint system, which is easily slidable along the harness straps to facilitate positioning of the harness over a child's head, but which can be effectively secured into place relative to the straps when properly positioned near the child's chest. The clip generally comprises a base member for maintaining the two shoulder straps in lateral positioning relative to each other. In addition, the base member is movable relative to at least one of the shoulder straps. The clip further includes a securing device for releasably securing the base member to at least one of the two shoulder straps, to thereby inhibit relative sliding movement between the base member and at least one of the two straps. A method for securing a child in a child restraint system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hook closure for lingerie has an arcuate base from which a hook bar and an eye bar extend, the eye bar being provided with a slot defined between a thin and thick limb. A thick sewing flange projects away from the slot and enables the closure to be stitched to the fabric of a strapping passing to the eye and thereby limits shifting of the closure relative to the strap.

Abstract: A truck strap fastener is adapted to enable a strap to be attached to either a downwardly directed hook or to a flat iron carried by standoffs attached to a trailer's frame. Flatbed trailers typically provide either a flat iron bar or a downwardly directed hook as the point of attachment for load securing tie-down straps. A fastener is disclosed that is adapted to attach to either point of attachment, and also to the tie-down strap. The fastener provides a body carrying left and right prongs which jointly fasten in place about a flat iron. Alternatively, a hook opening in the body allows a hook to pass between the left and right prongs and through the hook opening in the body.

Abstract: An arrangement for covering upholstered furniture includes a semi-fitted cover which is partially fitted to a piece of upholstered furniture and a mechanism for positioning a holding band in a closed loop around the cover. The holding band is positioned to form a loop around the cover and pull the semi-fitted cover close to the upholstered furniture. The present invention also includes details concerning skirt clips, belt adjusting plates and pleating plates which are unique as part of the present invention.

Abstract: A strapping system and buckle therefor comprising a planar frame with a pair of parallel end legs connected by a pair of parallel side legs to define an opening therebetween, and a bridging legl connecting the side legs with an opening between the bridging leg and the two end legs, respectively, of suitable dimensios to thread a strap therethrough with the bridging leg disposed between the threaded strap, and wherein one end leg is extended to hold permanently one end of the strap, the other end being threaded through the buckle. Advantageously, the buckle is of a unitary structure which can be easily and inexpensively manufactured, and utilizes only a single bridging leg having at least a part thereof above the planar frame together with suitable dimensions of the openings between the bridging leg and end legs to lock the strap threaded therethrough.

Abstract: A multi-purpose seat belt retaining device which provides a means for lowering the path of a seat belt for use by a child by removably inserting the lap and shoulder portion of a seat belt into slots on the device thereby lowering the intersection points of the lap and shoulder portion of the seat belt. In addition, the device also provides a means for allowing a person to enter and exit the driver side of a car without unbuckling the seat belt by removably placing a hook portion around the steering wheel and inserting both the lap and shoulder portion of the seat belt in a common slot. To allow the seat belt to engage around the driver, the device is simply unhooked from the steering wheel but is left secured onto the seat belt.

Abstract: The apparatus is a strap retainer with a straight post element and a generally arcuate retainer element molded as a single integral piece thereby forming a D-shaped outline. First ends of said post and arcuate retainer elements are affixed to each other while second ends of the post and arcuate retainer elements include complementary elements of a detent locking element. A first detent locking element includes a stem with a D-shaped cross section supporting a bulbous portion of increased cross section. The second detent locking element includes an aperture assembly with a first generally round aperture sized to receive the bulbous portion and a second aperture of D-shaped cross section sized to receive the stem of similar cross section and dimensions. The first and second apertures communicate by tapered walls which form detent edges on the second aperture. The stem can be slid from the first aperture to the second aperture to be detently locked in place therein.

Abstract: A strapping system using a novel buckle werein one end portion of the buckle is attached to one end of a strap, and the other end of the strap is threaded through the buckle in such a manner that the strap is held securely in place. The buckle is of a unitary structure comprising the end portion and threading portion in which are located two outer parallel legs and a center leg with gaps therebetween, and wherein the center leg has roughened surfaces and edges which are 90.degree. and one outer leg having a 90.degree. edge and roughened surfaces so that the threaded strap contacts the 90.degree. edges of the center leg and the 90.degree. edge of the one outer leg so that the strap is securely held by the buckle.

Abstract: An assemblage for shaping and maintaining the position of skirts and covers on seating and upholstered furniture comprises an elongated band having a band adjusting member to form the band into a closed loop and to adjust the length of the closed loop; a pleating member capable of being affixed to the band and including a plurality of clips for gathering material of a furniture cover; and a skirt clip capable of being affixed to the band and including a pair of fingers to permit a skirt to be affixed to the elongated band. The above elements can each be used alone or in combination with other elements for securing fabric to furniture.

Abstract: A movable rear strap stabilizer clip for use with a helmet's strapping system. The stabilizer clip provides a bridge between the rear straps at a location distal from the back portion of the helmet. The stabilizer clip provides an additional support point in the helmet's strapping system for greater conformability with the user's head.

Abstract: A seat belt adjuster is provided for holding the shoulder belt to the lap belt of an automotive seat belt at a fixed distance to create a compound angle of assent of the shoulder belt to prevent it from crossing the occupant's face or neck. The adjuster is an assembly of three components; a shoulder belt clip, lap belt locking buckle, and a tether. The shoulder belt clip is tethered to the lap belt locking buckle pulling the shoulder belt closer to the lap. The lap belt locking buckle can slide along the lap belt for adjustment and then be locked into position by closing the locking arm of the buckle.

Abstract: A respirator 15 has a harness 10 that allows the respirator body 20 to be conveniently disposed beneath a wearer's chin when not in use. The harness 10 includes a substantially flat, flexible strap 14 and an element 12 that contains a curved elongated slot 16. The substantially flat, flexible strap 14 is threaded through the curved elongated slot 16. The curved configuration of the slot 16 causes the flat flexible strap 14 to be deformed to assume the curved configuration of the slot. This deformation of the strap 14 allows the strap 14 to frictionally engage element 12, and the frictional engagement allows the respirator body 20 to be incrementally withdrawn from the wearer's face so that it can be temporarily stored beneath the wearer's chin, and allows the respirator body 20 to be conveniently repositioned over the nose and mouth of the wearer by simply pulling on free ends 34 of each strap 14 and joining a buckle 32 behind the wearer's neck.

Abstract: A cover retainer assembly for a support member having a cavity and an air bag disposed within the cavity includes a cover member closing the cavity and having at least first and second edges, a structure for fixedly securing the first edge of the cover member to the support member and a structure for releasably retaining the second edge of the cover member to the support member to allow the cover member to swing open toward the first edge upon deployment of the air bag.

Abstract: A vehicle safety apparatus for restraining movement of a vehicle occupant or a child seat includes a tongue assembly and belt webbing which is selectively extensible through the tongue assembly along either a first path or a second path. The first path includes first and second webbing openings in the tongue assembly through which the belt webbing is extensible and slidable when the safety apparatus is used to restrain movement of a vehicle occupant. The second path includes the first and second webbing openings and further includes a third webbing opening in the tongue assembly. The belt webbing may selectively be extended through the third webbing opening to block movement of the belt webbing through the tongue assembly when the safety apparatus is used to restrain movement of a child seat.

Abstract: A seat belt adjuster is provided for holding the lap seat belt to the shoulder belt of an automobile seat belt and prevent the shoulder belt rubbing against the neck of a wearer. The adjuster is made of a single unitary piece and therefore cannot be separated. A frame member formed of resilient material has a front portion, rear portion, top edge, bottom edge and space between the front and back portions for containing the lap seat belt. There is a hinge at the top edge joining the rear and front portions together and a retaining snap at the bottom edge to hold the two portions together. A clip forms part of the front portion extending down from the top edge retains the shoulder belt.
