    Abstract: A one-piece plastics moulding includes a pair of flaps 12a, 12b connected by a hinge 14. Both of the flaps 12a, 12b are slotted so that, when they are folded about the hinge 14 to their closed position, a pair of parallel bars 22, 24 is presented for use in adjustably securing a strap 20. Both of the flaps 12a, 12b have spikes 54, 56 for use in trapping a web-like workpiece 48. Any parts of the buckle 10 which touch, such as free ends of the spikes 56 located in complementary apertures 52, can be fixed together by ultrasonic welding, heat sealing or adhesive.

    Abstract: This device for locking and adjusting a strap comprises a case fixed to a suspension member such as a hook, ring, clevis or shackle, the sides of said case having therethrough two and preferably three series of facing holes and whose face projecting from the plane of the suspension member is folded back at its base towards its other face so as to form a slit having a length equal to the width of the strap whose active strand penetrates into the case through said slit in the plane of the suspension element before being wound around two parallel removable shafts engaged in the case through the lower lateral holes, possibly after passing over a removable pin housed parallel above said shafts and engaged in the case through the upper lateral holes, so as to be able to adjust the length of the strap by pulling on the return strand or on both strands if the pin to be withdrawn for locking is present.

    Abstract: A buckle for securing plastic strapping around an object. A pair of independently movable fingers are hingedly mounted by flexible plastic strips in spaced relationship on a rectangular base. The base has spaced pairs of integral side and end members which form a rectangular aperature therebetween. The fingers are adapted to be folded into superimposed, overlapped position along the side frame members. A post is formed on each of the end members at the midpoints thereof. The posts lie between the spaced ends of the fingers and in close proximity thereto when the fingers are in folded position. The fingers extend through loops formed in the ends of the strapping material with the finger ends being drawn inwardly against the posts upon tensioning of the strap. The posts absorb much of the tensioning force exerted on the fingers and distribute the remaining force equally on the fingers, thereby reducing twisting and breaking of the fingers during installation.
