  • Patent number: 4480589
Abstract: A safety collar device prevents choking of an animal when the animal catches the collar on a stationary object while running loose. The device includes a safety enclosure which envelopes the connecting mechanism of the collar (such as the "live" and "dead" rings at the ends of the chain of a choke collar) thus preventing the rings from being caught on the stationary object. The enclosure includes first and second enclosure halves which preferably are hinged to each other and operable between an open and a closed position. When in the closed position, the first and second halves completely conceal the rings of the choke collar. The enclosure has openings for the chain of the collar to pass through but which are sufficiently small to retain the rings within the enclosure. The safety enclosure includes a mechanism for keeping the first and second halves in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4428098
Abstract: A closure device adapted for clamping a flexible bag has a pair of hinged jaws including slideably mounted extension pieces adjustably retained in pre-selected positions of extension. The jaws are movable between a closed position to grip a bag and an open position to release the bag. A clasp mechanism releasably retains the jaws in the closed position. Mating sets of longitudinal teeth may be provided to grip the bag more positively.

  • Patent number: 4424611
Abstract: A buckle for watch bands comprising three folding members. The members are a clasping member connected to an end of one of the watch bands, a middle plate rotatably connected to the clasping member at one end thereof, and a bottom plate rotatably connected to the other end of the middle plate and connected to one end of the other band. The clasping member and the bottom plate are engaged with each other by an engaging means. A lock member is rotatably supported on the clasping member. A primary hook portion is provided on the lock member, and a secondary hook portion is provided on the bottom plate. The primary hook portion is adapted so as to engage with the secondary hook portion by rotating the lock member when the buckle is in folded state.

  • Patent number: 4312488
Abstract: A clamp for grasping elongated articles of generally round cross section, comprising an abutment body having a substantially planar clamping surface and having front and rear portions with respect to the direction of insertion of an article into the clamp, at least one J-shaped clamping jaw pivotally mounted to the rear portion of the abutment body by a resilient pivot integral with the jaw and the abutment body, with the jaw having a curved clamping surface formed substantially as an arc of a circle, wherein the rotational axis of the pivot is parallel to the axis of an article caught between the clamping surfaces, the clamping jaw being biased into clamping relationship by the resilient pivot, and wherein the rotational axis does not lie inside the projection of the planar clamping surface, with respect to the curved clamping surface.

  • Patent number: 4277864
Abstract: Integral synthetic plastic spring clip used for attaching identification badges and the like to garments. The clip comprises a pair of lever arms interconnected at their outer ends by a spring-forming web. The other ends of the arms terminate in mating jaw portions. The lever arms include interengageable detent portions adapted to form a fulcrum for pivotal movement of said lever arms for the opening and closing of the jaw portions of the clip. The interengagement of said detents also biases said web so that it acts as a spring in compression to urge the jaw portions of the clip together for clamping engagement with a material disposed between said jaws.
