    Abstract: A method for securing a securing clamp to a cord or a freeline. The securing clamp is automatically secured to the cord using a maniplulator, the manipulator has an assembly mechanism that is used to secure the securing clamp to the cord. The securing clamp has two brackets which can be adjusted relative to each other and which can be converted from an open position into a closed position, i.e. the cord-clamping position. The two brackets can be clamped against each other without screws for a simple assembly, and the securing clamp further has an actuating mechanism via which the two brackets can be converted from the open position into the closed position. To convert the position of the brackets, an actuating arm simply needs to be folded over or a blocking element simply needs to be removed. This is carried out automatically using the assembly mechanism of the manipulator.

    Abstract: A surgical clip includes a U-shaped configuration with first and second arms, and a bridge portion therebetween. The first arm is provided with a tip preferably having a catch, and the second arm extends into a deformable retainer having a tissue-piercing end and preferably also a hook. During application, tissue is clamped, and the clip is forced over the clamped tissue and the retainer of the second arm is bent and may be pierced through the tissue. The retainer is toward and around or adjacent the tip of the first arm preferably until the hook is engaged about the catch to secure the clip to the tissue and prevent the clip and tissue from separating. The clip is provided with structure that facilitates the stacking of a plurality of clips in a clip chamber of a clip applier.

    Abstract: A tag clip is disclosed having a first and second section, the second section having a channel therein for securing a tube or wire. The channel includes resilient support arms extending inward from the channel sides which flex inward upon the forced entry of a tube or wire into the channel. The clip first section folds over and is secured onto the clip second section, pushing the tube or wire into the channel, further flexing the resilient support arms inward with minimal deformation of the tube or cable therein. The equal and opposite forces provided by the first section contact with the tube and the resiliency of the flexible arms allow the tag to be secured to the tube or wire while at the same time allow for the tag to be moved into different positions along the length of the wire or tube. The tag has a rigid molded plastic member that provides the medical personnel or health care providers a substantially stiff or hard surface so that they can write legibly thereon.

    Abstract: A surgical clip has a base portion and two generally parallel, spaced arms extending from the base portion and defining an opening therebetween. The arms terminate distally in fingers which are of reduced width and thickness relative to the arms and which are adapted to be bent towards and past each other. A transition section from each arm to the finger provides curved structures which extending away from each other and providing a wider mouth for the opening between the arms. The arms also have a proximal section with an undercut which helps in flexure of the arms. The base is an extended structure having a rounded proximal end with outwardly extending shoulders which are arranged to be engaged by the curved structures of the mouth of another clip.

The deformable limb containment structure deforms to accommodate limited lateral deflection or growth in the vine or plant limb. Embodiments of the disclosed apparatus may be used instead of currently known devices, such as wire ties, for supporting vines and branches.

In order to provide structural rigidity to retained documents, and notwithstanding the absence of a writing surface or clipboard, the clip mechanism is configured to crease documents. The shopping aid also includes feet for standing the aid upright, on a flat surface, and means for mounting the aid magnetically on a refrigerator wall, in all cases such that retained documents are presented in a convenient reading orientation.
