Integral Locking-means Patents (Class 24/543)
  • Patent number: 5452500
Abstract: The basic clip enclosed is a one-piece plastic clip formed by an upper and lower jaw element having gripping jaws. The jaw elements are pivoted together by a pedestal-type mount, that interconnects the upper and lower jaw elements together. The pedestal mount has a locking tip which fits into a receptacle formed in the upper jaw element. A U-shaped biasing member biases the jaw elements into their closed, clamping position, which biasing member has a base lying in close proximity to the pedestal mount. A camming finger causes the pedestal mount to bend every time that the rear sections of the jaw elements are squeezed to open the clamping jaws, which bending increases the clamping force of the clip.

  • Patent number: 5440791
Abstract: A clip preferably monolithically formed of a single piece of resilient and pliable material (e.g., plastic), provides for the securing together of individual units of stocking, socks, and hose and the like, into their proper pairs for ease of sorting for laundry and storage. The clip provides a gripping force biasing the jaws shut, by means of a spring action in the handle portion or by alternative latching means between the two handle portions, while the jaws are relatively wide to distribute the clamping or gripping forces so as to preclude crushing of the fabric or other pliable material gripped therein. The clip may be provided in a variety of colors, in order that they and any articles gripped therein may be recognized readily, and a storage container which is easily attachable in the laundry area (e.g., to the side of a laundry hamper) may be provided for the storage of the clips when they are not in use.

  • Patent number: 5414911
Abstract: The present invention provides a clip that is one piece and is therefore relatively easy to fabricate. A resilient plastic such as polycarbonate is preferred so that fabrication is inexpensive and yet effective repetitive clamping of the clip is achieved. Furthermore, the closure ends of the clip are designed to overlap somewhat so that any semi-permanent deformation of the material or thermal contraction of the clip that would cause the closure ends of the clip to move away from one another will not act to diminish the effectiveness of the present clip.

  • Patent number: 5377939
Abstract: Elongated components such as electrical wiring, electrical cables, piping, rods, ropes, and steel cables are mounted in place, for example, in an aircraft body, by a mounting device that has at least two mounting sections. At least one, preferably both mounting sections are provided with component holding channels. When the two mounting sections are held together they form a block in which the components are held in the respective through-going channels. The mounting block is locked to a support, such as a wall member. The closing and thus the connection of the two mounting sections to each other and the clamping of the elongated components in the channels as well as the locking of the device to the support is accomplished by a mechanism that performs all three functions. In one embodiment the mechanism includes a connecting bolt holding at one end an expander dowel and on its threaded other end a clamping nut, whereby the expander dowel is expanded by a pulling action.

  • Patent number: 5361463
Abstract: The basic clip enclosed is a one piece plastic clip formed by an upper and lower face beam having gripping jaws. The face beams are joined together by a shared biasing traverse support member that operates in conjunction with a pivotal locking tip and locking receptacle. Final assembly of the clip is performed by pressing the face beams together which engages the pivotal locking tip with the latching body allowing the jaw elements to lock in a closed position. Continued squeezing of the proximal end portions allows the traverse support member to arc beyond the design angle forcing the jaws into a larger spaced apart position. To prevent stressing and allow shaft mountings, the traverse support member utilizes fingers to provide interference with complete compression. Variations of the transverse support member and clip closure beams are also enclosed.

Abstract: A rope clamp has a base and a pair of caps hingedly connected to opposite sides of the base. A longitudinally extending, rope-receiving groove is formed in each side of the base, and a similar groove is formed in each cap so that a pair of longitudinally extending, rope-receiving cylindrical bores are formed between the base and caps when the caps are closed. Upstanding spikes are positioned in each groove so that a rope in a bore is engaged by the spikes in the groove formed in the base when the caps are opened, and is further engaged by the spikes in the caps when the caps are closed. Each cap is independently hingedly mounted to the base so that one cap may be open when the other cap is closed. A catch member is secured to the base, and has teeth formed in free ends that extend in opposite directions relative to the base. Complementally formed teeth are formed in an outer surface of each cap, and these teeth engage one another when the caps are closed.

Abstract: A wire retention clip for holding a wire or bundle of sires. The wire clip includes a retaining arm member and locking means attached to a base plate in a spaced relationship to each other. The retaining arm member includes a substantially tangentially extending press pad that extends in a direction towards the free end of the retaining arm, to ease the pressing of the free end of the retaining arm into the locked position and to cover the release lever of the locking mechanism to prevent inadvertent release of the retaining arm. The retaining arm member is further defined by its ends both tapering into a narrower middle section.

  • Patent number: 5210913
Abstract: An invasive line separator comprises first and second plates of translucent plastic, which are hinged together so that they fold against one another in a face-to-face configuration. The first plate has a plurality of spaced apart, parallel channels that are sized and configured to receive and engage respective sections of invasive line, so that when the lines are placed within the channels they lie beneath the planar surface of the plate. This allows the hinged second plate to be folded into abutment with and provide a cover for channels of the first plate, without constricting invasive lines placed in the channels. The first plate also contains one or more slots alongside an edge, to accommodate straps for securing the separator to an adjacent structure, such as a bed rail. With the hinged plates folded together, any sections of invasive line that have been arranged within the grooves are securely retained in the first plate by second plate.

Abstract: A conduit holder is a one-piece stamped and formed member (10) which includes an outer section having outer walls (14,16) extending from a base section (12) mountable to a wall (92) to form a conduit-receiving region (18) therein, outer sections (20,22) of said outer walls (14,16) being crimpable toward each other into a vertical orientation when applied around a conduit (90). An inner or clamping section (30) extends integrally from the end of one outer wall section (20) and is latchable to the end of the other (22) and includes a pair of inner wall sections (36,40) joined by a central arcuate portion (38) crossing the top of the region (18).
