Patent number: 11779344Abstract: A closure device includes a first ring structure having a first distal portion and a first medial portion and a second ring structure having a second distal portion and a second medial portion. The first and second distal portions are movable between an open position, where the first and second distal portions form an angle relative to one another for receiving target tissue therebetween, and a closed position, where the first and second distal portions are drawn toward one another for gripping the target tissue. The device also includes an anvil about which the first and second medial portions are formed. Either one of proximal motion of the anvil relative to the first and second rings or proximal motion of the medial portions relative to the anvil causes the first and second distal portions to move into either one of the open position or the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: BOSTON SCIENTIFIC SCIMED, INC.Inventors: Paul Smith, Kevin L. Patent number: 8051541Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a bead securement device comprising a tension spring, a first cover and a second cover. The first cover and the second cover are removably secured to the tension spring. In use, a force is exerted on the spring through the covers causing the spring to deform and the gaps between the plurality of coils on the spring expand. Once expanded, the filament may be passed in between one of these gaps so that when the force exerted on the end members of the spring is released, the filament is squeezed between the coils of the spring and held in place. The filament can be easily removed by using the covers to manipulate the end members of the spring.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2009Date of Patent: November 8, 2011Inventor: Nikhil Gupta

Patent number: 7350756Abstract: A fastener for the suspension of a birdcage toy or the like has a first end terminating in a first loop, and a second end terminating in a second loop, each of the first and second loops terminating in a free end that allows for easy attachment of objects to the loops. An additional section is defined between the loop free ends to assist in preventing the free ends from deflecting outward, resulting in possible inadvertent detachment from the cage or retained object.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2005Date of Patent: April 1, 2008Assignee: JW Pet Company, Inc.Inventors: Klaus Woltmann, Jonathan Willinger

Patent number: 4759103Abstract: A manually operable quick action fastener, intended for both sporting and industrial use, consists essentially of a single length of wire which is formed into a closed triangular torsion spring having its torsion coils within the triangular shape and whose ends are formed, at the base of the triangle, into a closing hook and a locking arm. Other embodiments allow the closing hook to be strengthened by double winding or resin cladding, or both, and for higher load bearing models the wire winding of the basic triangular shape is modified to produce deflection limiting ends which allow the complete fastener to interlock and bear loads approaching the elastic limit of the material without slip of the parts.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1986Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Inventor: Roy W. Patent number: 4597139Abstract: The paper clips of the present invention are more gradually curved to have a substantial lateral extent, so that they will hold a much thicker stack of papers without deformation or buckling, as compared with the standard narrow sharply curved paper clips. More specifically, when a predetermined length of wire is employed, the clips have a ratio of the predetermined length to the width, and to the height of the clip, of between about 4 and 6. In addition, where one end of the wire is arranged to engage a stack of papers on one side and the other end of the wire is arranged to engage the stack of papers on the other side, at a point between the two ends there is a gradually curved portion corresponding generally to one-half the circumference of a circle having a diameter in the order of the transverse dimension of the clip.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1984Date of Patent: July 1, 1986Inventor: Po C.
