  • Publication number: 20130306767
Abstract: A pre-grinder or pre-shredder apparatus, essentially made up of at least one drive unit (1) including a hydraulically or electrically driven motor (2), a reduction gear (3) and at least one shredding element (4) connected thereto and mounted on a frame (5), a wall, a feeder chute or any other mounting. The reduction gear (3) of the drive unit (1) of the pre-grinder or pre-shredder forms an element for attaching and supporting at least one shredder element (4) and is made up of a stationary portion (3?), attached directly to the frame (5) of the pre-grinder or pre-shredder or on a mounting or a wall of the latter, and by a mobile portion (3?), the shredder element (4) being inserted on the mobile portion of the reduction gear. The apparatus is useful in treating materials from any source, in particular by shredding using grinders, hammer mills or similar devices.

  • Publication number: 20110233315
Abstract: A three roll mill having a feed roll, a center roll, and an apron roll with that are driven so that their cylindrical surfaces move in the same direction but different speeds in each nip. One end of each roll is engaged by a drive shaft at a first side of the mill, whereas the other end of each roll rotates freely at a second side of the mill. Each roll can be removed individually and without tools by moving the roll away from the first side against a spring force in the second side. This disengages the roll from its drive shaft, whereupon it can be lifted out of the mill.

  • Patent number: 5673863
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting cuttable pieces, especially of animal or vegetal origin, into prismatic, preferably cubical shape, includes two concentric knife rotors, inner and outer knife rotors. The inner knife rotor carries a first cutting tool for cutting the cuttable pieces into slices and strips. The first cutting tool includes a plurality of plate-shaped knives and a plurality of sets of gate forming knives positioned in passage channels formed in the inner knife rotor. Each set of gate forming knives is positioned adjacent to and upstream of one of the plate-shaped knives. The gate forming knives first simultaneously cut the cuttable pieces into a plurality of strip sections. The associated plate-shaped knife then slices the strip sections to form individual strips, which are led out of the passage channel. The outer knife rotor carries a second tool, a plurality of plate-shaped knives, that cross cuts the strips coming out of the passage channels according to the desired length.

  • Patent number: 5509612
Abstract: The device for continuous mechanical shaping of a particulate material includes a housing; a pressing roll pair forming a pressing space and enclosed in the housing; a rotating element which can be a size reduction roll or a rotor with screen insert arranged below the pressing roll pair; a mechanism for displacing the pressing roll pair together with the rotating element relative to the housing and perpendicular to a rotation axis of the rolls and a mechanism for adjustably spacing the pressing roll pair and the rotating element relative to each other and perpendicular to the rotation axis. The pressing roll pair is advantageously tiltable between 0 and 90 degrees to the horizontal. The rolls are advantageously provided with milled grooves arranged so as to be parallel and extend at an angle of from 0 to 90 degrees to an axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5373999
Abstract: A rotary tank supported by a bearing stand on a horizontal shaft in a freely rotatable manner to form a grinding/mixing chamber having an inner wall of modified cross-section such as oval one at the horizontal center axis position is driven by a rotary drive motor for driving said rotary tank to rotate it adjustably at any relatively low speed in a certain direction. A grinding/mixing blade is inserted into said grinding/mixing chamber over its whole length and mounted at the coaxial position on the rotary shaft other than that for the rotary tank.

  • Patent number: 4235382
Abstract: A wood chip rechipping method and apparatus are provided wherein a slotted, cylindrical drum rotates about a concentrically mounted rotatable anvil rotor having a plurality of arms, each of which has a blade at its outer extremity. The drum and anvil rotor arms rotate in the same direction, but at different speeds. The rotating apparatus induces centrifugal force on the wood chips to position them against the inner periphery of the drum where the blades on the relatively faster rotating anvil arms shear off a chip slice having a predetermined thickness. This shearing action continues until each chip has been rechipped into slices capable of passing through one of the drum knife slots and into the discharge outlet.
