With Moving Cooperating Surface Patents (Class 241/250)
  • Patent number: 9505009
Abstract: A storage, grinder and dosage dispensing device having a top cap body, a middle section body and a bottom cup. The middle section body rotatably engages the top cap body beneath the plurality of downwardly protruding top grinding knives. The bottom cup removably attaches to the top cap body or the middle section body forming an airtight storage chamber. The storage, grinder and dosage dispensing device is configured to simultaneously grind and tear material inserted into the top cap body by the plurality of downwardly protruding top grinding knives and a plurality of grinding teeth in an upper section of the middle section body as the top cap body is rotated on the middle section body creating ground material, which is then passed through a plurality of holes to a middle section chamber.

Abstract: In a method for grinding coffee beans (5), the beans (5) are ground off bit by bit by applying a device (1) comprising two tools (20; 40, 42), wherein one of the tools (20; 40, 42) is a grinding tool (20) having an abrasive surface (21), wherein the beans (5) and the abrasive surface (21) are made to contact each other and to perform a relative movement with respect to each other, and wherein another of the tools (20; 40, 42) is a bean delimiting tool (40, 42) having a surface (44) against which the beans (5) are retained during the time that they are in contact with the abrasive surface (21). By grinding off coffee beans (5) instead of crushing coffee beans (5) in a conventional manner, it is achieved that the grinding process can be performed at a relatively high speed and a relatively low torque.

  • Publication number: 20140209722
Abstract: The present application relates to an apparatus for processing a food stuff. The apparatus has a housing (2), and a cutting tool (5) rotatably mounted in the housing (2) having a cutting edge (35) and a trailing edge(31). The cutting tool (5) is arranged to pass once per revolution through a processing region (43) in the housing in which a food stuff is receivable, and to pass through a recovery region (45). The recovery region is defined in the housing between the trailing edge passing from the processing region and the cutting edge passing into the processing region as 25 the cutting tool rotates, and the cutting tool is free to rotate in the processing region without contacting the food stuff. Therefore, the cutting tool (5) acts on a food stuff as the cutting tool rotates through the processing region, and recovers the rotational speed lost due to acting on a food stuff in the processing region as the cutting tool (5) rotates through the recovery region.

  • Publication number: 20090140084
Abstract: A nondenatured ground matter with high quality is produced through efficient grinding while preventing overheating by, even in the case of grinding a material to be ground having a flexible thin film, such as cereal grain, efficiently crushing the thin film of low grindability to thereby obtain a ground matter of fine grains with uniform size by the use of simple apparatus and operation. A raw material is fed through raw material supply channel (55,56) into raw material introduction part (11) between fixed grinding disc (4) and moving grinding disc (5). The moving grinding disc (5) is hung down by means of drive shaft (21), and the gap between the same and the fixed grinding disc (4) is adjusted by means of gap adjusting means (7). While preventing any heat transfer from drive unit (8), power is transmitted to the drive shaft (21) so as to rotate the moving grinding disc (5).

Abstract: A vertical crusher having a housing defined chamber, enclosing a vertical axis rotor. The chamber has material(s) feed inlet(s) into the chamber. There is a drop-through outlet, which may be closable, from the chamber from which material(s) of at least a maximum size can drop in use. There are air inlet(s) into said chamber and air classifier outlet(s) from the chamber, for air or fine particles. Within the chamber also is a mass of discrete media, agitatable under the direct and/or indirect action of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5065948
Abstract: Compositions in accordance with the invention comprise a polymer and flake reinforcing material distributed throughout the polymer in an effective amount to structurally reinforce the polymer. Individual flakes of the flake material a) are less than or equal to 1,000 Angstroms in thickness, b) have an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 100, and c) are preferably significantly randomly oriented throughout the polymer. A novel apparatus for shear grinding a platy solid material into such individual flakes comprises a cylindrical shearing drum and a shear grinder received therein. The shearing drum has a longitudinal axis and an internal surface formed about a first predetermined radius of curvature. The cylindrical drum is supported for rotation about its longitudinal axis. The shear grinder has an external surface formed about a second predetermined radius of curvature. The second radius of curvature is slightly less than the first radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 4930708
Abstract: A grinding apparatus includes a frame, a driving device mounted in the frame, and an upper and a lower grinding member mounted coaxially on a vertical axis on the frame. One of the upper and lower grinding members is rotated by the driving device. The upper grinding member is movable in an upward and a downward direction. Each of the upper and lower grinding members has a grinding disc with a central opening, a disc seat holding the grinding disc, and a shaft carrying the disc seat. The grinding surface of the grinding disc of the uper grinding member is concave and the grinding surface of the grinding disc of the lower grinding member is convex so that both of the grinding surfaces of the grinding discs can come into snug contact with each other. A guiding device is provided for guiding the shaft of the upper grinding member which permits the upper grinding member to move vertically but prevents the same from lateral movement.

  • Patent number: 4632323
Abstract: An improved food crusher is described in which a grinder housing is formed with a food chamber and a food transport in the form of a screw. Inner and outer grinder disks are employed wherein the inner disk is removably mounted to the housing in a stationary position and the outer disk is removably affixed to the screw with coupling means that provide positive drive connection to the screw with axial retention, yet enables convenient removal from the screw. The coupling means includes a hammer shaped tip that is an integral part of the screw and which fits through a correspondingly preferentially shaped hole in the outer disk to enable the tip to be turned after passage to lock the outer disk to the screw. Disassembly of the food grinder involves a reverse motion of the screw to disengage the outer disk from the screw followed by simple removal of the inner disk from the housing.

  • Patent number: 3942729
Abstract: Meterial to be ground, such as ligno-cellulose containing material, is fed-in centrally between a pair of juxtaposed relatively rotatable discs. The material being ground moves outwardly towards a discharge point adjacent the periphery of the discs, and a fluidized treatment agent is supplied to the material as it is discharged from between the discs, the treatment agent issuing from an array of circumferentially spaced nozzles which surround the periphery of the discs.
