Plural Patents (Class 242/422.1)
  • Patent number: 11365077
Abstract: An arm for an unwinder for unwinding rolls is disclosed. The arm includes an axial engaging member for engaging the rolls. The axial engaging member has a shaft supported by at least two support bearings mounted on the arm, so as to rotate around a rotation axis. A brake is also provided, adapted to act on the shaft. The brake is at least partially arranged between the two support bearings.

  • Patent number: 10780603
Abstract: A sheet interleaver is provided for a slicing machine that includes a slicing plane for slicing an elongated food product and a sheet of web material beneath the elongated product. The interleaver includes a supply of web material, a drawing station, and a feed station. A tensioning station is disposed between the supply of web material and the drawing station to maintain the tension of the web material at a pre-determined tension. A web accumulation station is between the drawing station and the feed station to provide a slackened length of web material within an acceptable range of slack between the drawing station and the feed station. The supply of web material is disposed on a spool which rotates about a cylindrical shaft. The cylindrical shaft has a braking mechanism which protrudes from the shaft to generate a frictional force against the spool.

  • Patent number: 10350842
Abstract: A system for applying a web around a cylindrical object with even tension containing a core having a generally cylindrical shape and a pair of handles. Each handle has an insertion area, a collar area, and a gripping area. The collar area is sandwiched between the insertion area and the gripping area and the insertion diameter is less than the inner diameter of the core at the first end and second end. The handles and core have a means for coupling meaning that the core and the insertion area of the handles do not move independently from one another.

  • Patent number: 8453957
Abstract: A yarn package halter comprises a frame for supporting a series of contact members that are used to maintain slight contact with the base or back portion of a yarn package during an unwinding operation as part of a textile manufacturing process. In a preferred embodiment, the contact members are elastic cords, which serve to hold the yarn package together in order to prevent the yarn package from unraveling, which can lead to entanglements and other processing problems. The frame member is structured so that the contact members form a cone shape or a partial cone shape, and this arrangement allows the contact members to maintain slight contact throughout the manufacturing process, even as the size of the yarn package is reduced during the unwinding operation.

  • Publication number: 20120205480
Abstract: A fishing line spool holder capable of holding multiple spools of differing sizes, the spool holder having braking members to retard rotation of a spool when line is being unwound from the spool. The spool holder has removable rods such that differing groupings of spools with different sizes may be accommodated.

  • Publication number: 20120181368
Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing brake squeal in a web tension brake. The apparatus comprising an anti-squeal friction pad assembly having a friction pad mounted on a back plate and a rubber isolation layer sandwiched between the back plate and a second back plate. The rubber isolation layer to dampen vibrations and break up the symmetry of the brake assembly minimizing acoustic resonances that cause the objectionable squeal.

  • Patent number: 6199788
Abstract: A dispenser is disclosed for dispensing and separating plastic bags from a roll of bags rolled on an axle which projects beyond the ends of the roll. The dispenser comprises a container which includes a surface which frictionally engages the roll to apply a braking force thereto. The braking surface includes an upper section and a lower sloped section which engages the roll when its diameter has decreased to a value which is such that the roll does not engage the upper section. The container includes opposing tracks extending from the upper portion of the container to a lower portion for supporting the projecting ends of the axle so that the roll will fall gradually in the tracks to the lower portion of the container as the articles are dispensed. The container also includes spring biased surfaces for applying an additional braking force to the ends of said roll.
