  • Patent number: 8616101
Abstract: A device for manufacturing a product from strip tape includes a roll that draws off and separates a web of material. The web of material is severed into individual strips in cooperation with a multiple circular knife roll. A vacuum conveyor channel is associated with each strip. The vacuum conveyor channel is designed such that each strip is turned on its way to the channel or through the channel by about 90°. The end of the vacuum conveyor channel brings the strips together at one site to form a unit and at that site there are provided a guide and a transport device for the further transport to conversion equipment.

Abstract: Fiber webs are wound into partial web rolls (15) in a winding device having at least two winding stations (20) and rider roll units (30) that load a pair of rider rolls (31,32) against the partial web roll (15) being wound. The partial webs (W1, W2) are guided to be wound to partial web rolls (15) around cores (14) via a nip between a winding roll (10) and the partial web rolls (15). The winding position of the partial web rolls (15) is on the upper circumferential half of the winding roll (10). The rider rolls (31, 32) are moved substantially linearly in the direction of the radius of the partial web rolls (15) and co-linear with a movement path of winding chucks (25) on which the partial web rolls are supported at the two ends of a core (14).

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a slitter. The slitter according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes an unwinding part from which an insulating film is consecutively taken out; a plurality of transfer rollers that transfer the insulating film supplied from the unwinding part in one direction; a wheel knife that senses an air pocket formed on the insulating film taken out from the unwinding part to form fine holes on the insulating film; a cutter that is disposed between the transfer rollers and cuts, at a predetermined interval, the insulating film transferred in one direction through the transfer roller; and a winding part individually winding the insulating film divided at a predetermined interval by the cutter.

  • Patent number: 7905443
Abstract: A vertical accumulator for use in a sheet metal unwinding, slitting and rewinding operation accumulates the slack created in the plurality of strips cut from an initial wide coil so that the proper tension can be maintained on the individual strips being rewound. The accumulator includes an elongated mandrel mounted for rotation about a horizontal axis parallel to the axis of the original sheet metal coil and is arranged such that all of the plurality of cut strips pass over the top of the mandrel. The mandrel is located above the height of the coil and above the height of the slitter and the rewound individual strips. A plurality of disks mounted on the mandrel separate the cut strips from each other. Upwardly extending threaded rotatable rods located on either side of the sheet metal strips carry holders that releasably support the mandrel. Rotation of the rods causes the holders to move up or down to thereby adjust the height of the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 7878442
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for the production of a coreless roll (110?) including a sheet (110) of flexible, not moist, material such as a fibrous absorbent material, produced by winding of the sheet in one direction and rolling this sheet about a winding axis perpendicular to such direction, and including a central dispensing leader forming a projection along such axis relative to at least one part of the plane of one of the sides of the roll. The method is characterized in that the leader is produced by displacing a portion of the end of the sheet (110) before winding so that one of the longitudinal edges of the sheet forms an angle (?) other than zero relative to such direction of winding, after which winding of the sheet about the axis is initiated. By preference several sheets are produced by longitudinal cutting of a wide sheet. The solution may be applied for production in particular of general wipe rolls, hand towel rolls, or toilet paper rolls.
