Abstract: A novel paint can holder or hanger comprising a bar having a vertical body portion with a furcated lower end defining an inverted V-shaped paint can lip-receiving slot and having an inner leg adapted to extend into the open end of the can and an outer leg overlapping the outer side of the can. The inner and outer legs have opposing notches on their inner edges for receiving the inner and outer edges of the lip. The vertical body portion has on its outer side a bail-entrapping notch arrangement which serves as a fulcrum for the holder when the holder is lifted by handle at the upper end of the body portion, the handle extending to the axial center line of the can. A flexible tether is secured to the handle and is adapted to be looped over a rung of a ladder or the like.
Abstract: A support device for use in forming scaffolding or for supporting a paint bucket on the rail of a ladder or the like, consists of a pair of opposed bracket members having substantially identical configurations adapted to receive the ladder support rail or post therebetween. These bracket members each include flange elements extending outwardly therefrom and located in parallel relation to each other in the operative position of the device on the support rail. A generally L-shaped support bar having first and second angularly related legs is pivotally secured to the bracket members between their respective flanges adjacent the junction between the angularly related legs by a pivot pin which extends through the flange elements and support bar, with the flange elements being generally slidable along the pivot pin. A spring member is operatively engaged between the flange elements to bias these elements apart to extreme positions along the pivot pin.
Abstract: A ladder-supported device for the suspension of a paint can or pail in which the body of the device is formed by two members which cooperate to form a hinge at their confronting edges, and wherein the support rod-like element for the pail includes a depending length portion which effectively completes the hinge by serving as the hinge pin, and also connects the support element to the body. The pivotal traverse of the hinge readily facilitates the attachment of the device to, and its detachment from the ladder.
Abstract: An accessories attachment device is provided for use when working on a ladder, having an adjustable frame portion for attachment to a ladder in hooked securing relation thereto, with accessory attachment means to receive a workman's accessory such as a paint can holding device, a pail or a pulley wheel, and rapid release means to detachably secure the accessory attachment means to the frame means in readily released relation therewith.
