  • Patent number: 5249763
Abstract: An adjustable mounting system for mounting an article such as a low profile water distiller in kitchen cabinets or similar spaces of widely varying dimensions. The system includes support arms received in telescoping relationship in channels located on the article, which are affixed at their ends, that may be angled downwardly, to a horizontal cross member that is mountable on a rear mounting bracket. The mounting bracket has a plurality of vertically displaced notches for receiving and supporting the horizontal member. Alternatively, the bracket may be provided with an indentation at the top of each flange of the bracket. In this embodiment vertical adjustment is by means of holes in the arms at different vertical displacements. The distiller is provided with a horizontal channel adapted to telescopingly receive the arms. A forward bracket is provided to adjustably support the forward end.

  • Patent number: 5240208
Abstract: Structural formations for mounting an electrical terminal block in an aperture of a panel. A groove is formed on a longitudinal side of a rectangular terminal block. A shoulder with a surface facing toward the panel is formed on the opposite longitudinal side of the terminal block. Coplanar shoulders facing the same direction as the longitudinal shoulder are formed on the ends of the terminal block. The groove has greater width than the thickness of the panel, allowing for the panel to be angled with respect to the groove during insertion. The panel has an aperture with edges that contact the terminal block at all three coplanar shoulders, and the fourth edge contacts the oppositely facing surface of the groove.

  • Patent number: 5228652
Abstract: A rectangular frame has two pairs of opposing runners formed along the inner edges of the longitudinal sides thereof which are normally oriented horizontally. The pairs of runners are separated from each other by a space large enough to accomodate the installation of a panel member in each such pair of runners. The panel members have a slider arrangement means formed along the top and bottom edges thereof, the slider arrangement matingly engages an associated pair of the runners for slidable positioning therealong. The panel members have apertures formed therein through which radio control shafts can be fitted. Such panel members can be selectively positioned along their associated runners to accomodate shafts located in various positions. Various such panel members having different mounting structures are provided to suit a variety of different mounting installations.

  • Patent number: 5225970
Abstract: Twist-in mounting structure centered on a component surface mounts a component to a single panel aperture. Each of a pair of capture tabs has a free end away from the structure's center; an interference surface slopes from the tab free end downwardly toward a raised capture plateau and inwardly toward the center. Each of a pair of spring locking arms lies between two capture tabs, providing a free bearing end adjacent the center, and is pivotable at an end spaced away from the center responsive to force on the bearing end, between unstressed, depressed, and locking positions. In assembly, the tabs pass through the aperture, while the arms are depressed by the panel; with panel against plateaus, the component is twisted to cause aperture edges and tabs to interfere; thereafter the locking arm free ends spring through the aperture into locking position.

Abstract: An electrical wiring system for use in construction of buildings consisting of fittings moulded of a dielectric material with internal circuitry and wire attachments that can be quickly and easily installed in round holes in panel materials of varying thicknesses by means of a metal clip. These fittings connected to each other with BX cable provide a foolproof installation that is impossible to short out and can be accomplished by labor not skilled in electrical wiring. Not only is the labor cost involved in installing this system reduced, but the material costs are also greatly reduced compared with the costs of conventional wiring.

  • Patent number: 5045984
Abstract: A device arranged to be releasably mounting within a hole in a panel, e.g., a ceiling, to hold a lamp bulb and associated reflector or any other member therein. The device comprises a tubular body, a flange for engaging one side of the panel, and plural, equidistantly, peripherally-spaced, flexible arms for engaging the other side of the panel. Each arm extends outward from the body and is moveable from an extended position to a retracted position and vice versa. The arms are moved from the extended position to the retracted position when the body is pushed into the hole while being twisted about its longitudinal central axis in one rotational direction. The arms automatically move back to the extended position when the device is in place to hold the device securely within the hole. The device can be removed by pulling it out of the hole while twisting it about its longitudinal axis in the same rotational direction as used to insert it, whereupon the arms flex to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5018397
Abstract: A detent capture (26) is connected to the input shaft (16) of a position indicating transducer (10). A pair of leaf spring detents (24) are carried by a mounting base portion (14) of transducer (10). The leaf spring transducers (24) have at-rest positions in which they are received in, and interlock with, recesses (64, 66) formed in the detent capture (26). The leaf spring detents (24) serve to couple the detent capture (26), and hence the input shaft (16), to the transducer housing (12). This coupling occurs at a predetermined position in which the input shaft (16) is properly indexed to the electrical output of the transducer (10). The leaf spring detents (24) have outer end portions which contact a mounting member (22) as the transducer (10) is being installed onto the mounting member (22).

Abstract: A mounting frame facilitates the installation of ganged electrical devices into a single switchbox. The frame is a rectangular plate with a rectangular opening and provides a rigid support for the devices. Support is needed when the wall on which devices are to be mounted is not planar or when the switchbox is not properly mounted into the wall. The frame can also include markings that help to align the devices to permit a multigang faceplate to snap onto the devices. An alignment frame provides markings to help align the devices, without also providing a rigid support.
