Abstract: The present invention is convertible boom stands useful for supporting lights, microphones and the like in a range of angles from the vertical. The stand can convert from a vertical stand which can support objects above the floor between a range of heights, to a boom stand which can also support the objects between a range of angles from the vertical.

Abstract: A flag holder is disclosed which permits display of a flag on a post. There is a sleeve having a central vertical bore and an outer peripheral wall extending around the bore. A pocket is attached to the wall for retaining a flag pole. The holder frictionally engages the post on an inner sleeve wall surface. This is preferably achieved by providing a vertical slot in a side of the sleeve and causing the sleeve to act as flexible jaw.

Abstract: A rod rest supporting device includes an tripod having a tripod socket, a rotary member mounted in the tripod socket and locked by a lock screw, a cradle fastened to the rotary member by a fastening screw to hold a rod rest, on which a fishing rod rests, wherein the rotary member can be turned on the socket of horizontally when the lock screw is loosened; the cradle can be turned on the rotary member vertically when the fastening screw is loosened.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder adapted to support a fishing rod comprising a member formed of a rigid material, the member being shaped to form two parallel long extents spaced a distance from each other sufficient to receive the handle of a fishing rod, the long parallel extents having a forward end whereat the member is down-turned to form two short parallel extents terminating in a closed end for receiving thereabove a forward portion of a fishing rod handle, the long parallel extents having a rearward end whereat the rod is up-turned to form two short parallel extents terminating in a closed end for receiving therebeneath a rearward portion of a fishing rod handle; and attachment means secured to the long parallel extents of the member for releasably coupling to a bucket.

Abstract: A fishing pole support for securement to a chair leg member is arranged such that the support includes an elongate body, having a body leg oriented at an acute angle relative to the body to support a fishing pole thereon. The body is arranged to include an arcuate flange arranged for reception within a receiving cup cavity permitting ease of assemblage of the shaft body and leg relative to the receiving cup. The receiving cup is integral with a split cylindrical sleeve secured to the chair member.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder assembly consisting of a holder and a mounting bracket to receive the holder. The holder includes a hollow, rectangular member to receive the fishing pole, legs extending at an angle from one side of the hollow member, and locking inserts formed at the end of these legs. The locking inserts form an acute angle with the hollow member. The bracket which receives the holder may be mounted on any planar surface. The width of the bracket is sufficient to receive the combined width of the locking inserts. A vertical slot is formed in the bracket to receive the legs of the holder. Insertion of the legs and inserts into the bracket results in an interference fit between the holder and the bracket. A detent tip may be formed in the holder and a receiving aperture formed in the bracket to provide even greater locking engagement.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder for casting and spinning reels including a holster portion for receiving a rod and a flexible clamp rotatably mounted in a recess on one end of the holster for retaining a reel within the holster. The flexible clamp is discontinuous with an opening less than the diameter of the circumferential slot whereby the opening must be widened by flexing the clamp when assembling the clamp in the recess. The holster includes support flanges extending therefrom and straddling the recess for supporting the clamp in the recess and for providing stops to the rotation of the clamp when locking a rod in the holster or when releasing the rod from the holster.

Abstract: A rotatable mechanism for reversibly attaching an extension onto a long member is described; examples include an ergonomically correct extension, which fits and supports the entire natural shape of the arm, from the heel of the hand, along the inner wrist and up the forearm, thus combining the principle of leverage with the body's natural muscular dynamics, to transfer the load and strain away from the wrist to the more powerful muscles of the upper arm and shoulder. In a first embodiment, splines run on the outside of a shaft affixed previously to a handle, and co-operate with splines on the inside surface of a cylindrical hole in the extension. A screw inserted through the extension and threaded into a hole in the end of the handle prevents longitudinal separation between the handle and extension, and the splines prevent rotational movement.

Abstract: A supporting bracket for hanging decor such as decorative flags, banners, windsocks and planters, which is designed for attachment to a flat surface. The bracket includes a base portion and several elongated receptors for receiving a cylindrical pole to which the decor is attached. The bracket design is such that it is capable of accommodating different sized poles and displaying the decor at different angles. The bracket also includes screw holes for mounting to a planar surface and a set screw for securing the support shaft within the bracket.

Abstract: A tubular part, into which the handle of an umbrella or a part of some other device can be inserted downwardly, is fixed to or removably connected to, a clamping part including upper and lower cup-shaped portions held together to form a hollow body resembling a golf ball but larger. A recess in the lower cup-shaped portion receives a bar, for example a bar forming part of a golf caddy car. A U-shaped clamping member has a base which presses on the bar and two limbs which pass on opposite sides of the bar into the lower cup-shaped portion where nuts are screwed on to them to clamp the lower cup-shaped portion to the bar. The upper cup-shaped portion includes a clock.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a flag pole assembly having a bracket, a pole, a stopping member at one end of the pole, and a removable sleeve substantially the length of the pole which attaches to the flag. The sleeve is formed to slide onto and off the pole over its mounted end when removed from the bracket. In use, the sleeve is prevented from sliding off the outer end of the pole by the stopping member and, because of the length of the sleeve, the bracket retains the sleeve in place at its lower end. Thus, the flag and sleeve are easily removable as a unit from the pole once the pole is removed from the mounting bracket.

Abstract: A balance device arranged to reduce false movement of bait to a fishing line for indication of a fish strike includes a flexible cover wrap configured in a mandrel configuration surrounding a fishing rod of a fishing rod assembly. The cover wrap includes a cover wrap axis intersecting a center of gravity of the fishing rod assembly, with a cover wrap support having a cover wrap support axis orthogonally oriented relative to the cover wrap axis for positioning upon a support surface to provide for balancing of the organization for indication of fish strike. The cover wrap support may be configured of a tubular configuration having a securement strap directed therethrough for securement about an underlying support surface.

Abstract: The invention provides an umbrella support bracket for holding an umbrella over the head of a user who is loading or unloading the trunk of an automobile. The device comprises a central telescoping adjustable post having an angularly adjustable arm on which to mount the umbrella. The adjustable telescoping post is clampable in its adjusted length. The post has upper and lower pads to prevent physical damage to the parts contacted and to prevent sliding. The angularly adjustable arm has a resilient clip to hold the shaft of the umbrella, a sling to hold the handle of the umbrella, and two straps to secure the grip on the umbrella. After initial adjustments are accomplished, mounting and removal may be done with one hand while holding an umbrella in the other hand.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder for a fishing rod with an open face reel is provided which comprises a tubular rod holder defining a first slot along the longitudinal axis of the tubular rod holder and a second slot communicating transversely from a bottom portion of the first slot in a position transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubular rod holder.

Abstract: The invention is a clamp and fishing rod holder assembly which can be attached to the gunwale of a boat. The clamp has two parts with a pin in hole assembly and can be used independently of the rod holder. The rod holder has a base and a hollow tube and can be mounted onto the clamp.

Abstract: Apparatus for protecting a plurality of fishing rods to be selectively used while fishing from a boat in different locations, as in tournament fishing. The apparatus has a rod holding plate, a support arm pivotally interconnected with the rod holding plate and the rod holding plate having a series of longitudinally spaced slots extending transversely of the rod holding plate. A tongue extends from the support arm and penetrates a selected slot to support the rod holding plate at a selected angle, and a keeper engages the tongue to keep the tongue in the selected slot. The fishing rods are releasably held on said rod holding plate.

Abstract: A floor section assembly having a post anchor built into one of the floor panels for use with portable sectionalized flooring suitable for a volleyball court or the like is disclosed. The post anchor includes a base assembly attached to the undersurface of one of the panels and is coupled to a plurality of adjacent panels by tubes attached to the undersurface of the panels and coupled together by a rigid member extending through aligned tubes. This structure provides a broad base of support for the post carrying a volleyball net which can absorb moments placed on the post without the need for connecting the post to the base on which the flooring is assembled.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder is pivotally mounted on the upper end portion of an upright tubular housing to rock upwardly and downwardly about a horizontal axis. A battery-operated motor is contained in the housing and is operable to rotate a cam having a plurality of angularly spaced lobes which act against a cam follower on the holder to rock the latter upwardly and downwardly. With this arrangement, a fishing pole supported in the holder may be automatically moved upwardly and downwardly in order to jig a lure in the water.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new structure of fishing rod stand for fishing on the sea which is designed by taking the distance between fisherman's seat and fishing rod stand and the need of control into consideration. It has a link of considerable length with an adjustable rack assembly connected to the front end so that it can be fixed to the hull rapidly without any tool and the link can be adjusted to an appropriate position in order to place a rod adjuster assembly connecting to another end of the link to the most convenient position for control, eliminate the need of changing fisherman's seat or leaning of fisherman's body to control the fishing rod.

Abstract: A holder for a fishing rod that has a rearward rod handle support, a forward rod handle support, and a frame upon which the supports are mounted. The forward rod handle support having a first and second finger mounted for pivotal movement of their tips toward each other when a downward force is applied to a cable connecting the bottom end portions of the fingers. Also, a holder having a frame with a pair of rails, a rearward cable with each of its ends secured to one of the rails, and a forward cable with each of its ends secured to one of the rails. Additionally a holder with a frame having a rearward rod handle support loop, a forward upwardly extending pair of rails with a cable connecting them, and a central double rail portion. The holders can include a curved strip member, a circular cylindrical mounting block with an annular recess, or grooved mounting block with a positioning bar and tightening means.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder is disclosed, the primary members of which are a wedge shaped base and a holding tube including a flange. When utilizing two rod holders, one wedge shaped base can be inverted. This allows two rod holders to be used on one side of a boat without the lines interfering with each other. An arcuate slot is provided on the wedge shaped base which allows the rod holder to assume the same positions whether mounted with the wedge shape angled up or down.

Abstract: Disclosed is a striking rod holder for mounting to a boat, fishing chair or rocket launcher. The striking rod holder includes a first plate, a rod holding tube attached to the first plate, and a second plate for attaching to a surface, where the first plate pivotally attaches to the second plate. A cushion material may be positioned between the first plate and the second plate. A locking device can further be included with the striking rod holder to maintain the tube in a fixed position. Also disclosed is a method to convert a non-tilting rod holder or a flush-mounted fixed striking rod holder into a tilting rod holder.

The device (10) is of compact, integral metallic construction and includes a pair of fishing rod-receiving bodies (12) each equipped with a beverage container-engaging segment (28) rigidly secured thereto. The bodies (12) are in turn supported for releasable connection to a rail (44) or the like by means of an elongated channel (32) of inverted, U-shaped configuration.

Abstract: A flagpole holder for attaching a flagpole to a surface portion or axle of vehicle that allows the user to remove the flagpole without removing the apparatus from the vehicle. Various embodiments are disclosed to permit attachment of the flagpole holder to a bicycle axle and to various (vertical, horizontal and slanted) surface portions of a vehicle.

A bracket engages the bumper of the vehicle and the frame rests against the bumper to provide support. A fishing rod is received in the tube. The frame also may be disposed on a substantially horizontal surface, independent of the vehicle, with the tube in a position to receive a fishing rod.

One of the legs is downwardly telescopically receivable in an upwardly opening and rearwardly and outwardly inclined fishing rod holder on a boat gunnel and the handle end of a fishing rod is removably and downwardly telescopically receivable in the other leg, the arm of the tubular member projecting outwardly of the associated boat gunnel and the tubular member functioning to laterally outwardly offset the mounting location of the associated fishing rod relative to the boat gunnel.

Abstract: This invention discloses a fishing pole holder apparatus including a rod stake member, a slide hammer member and a fishing pole support bracket. The stake member is provided with an impact end member and an attachment portion for pivotally mounting the fishing pole support bracket. The impacting slide hammer is mechanically attached to the stake member and is used for imparting a force to the stake member. The fishing pole support bracket is attachable to the stake member for holding a fishing pole in a casted position and includes a bent rod piece integrally shaped having a pivotal attachment, a first pole support integral to the pivotal attachment and a second pole support integral to said first pole support. The first and second pole supports cradle the reel end of a fishing pole while the attachment portion provides horizontal angle flexibility for holding the pole.

Abstract: A fishing pole support apparatus having an operative position and a storage position is attached to a fishing pole. The fishing pole is frictionally clamped in a channel between the body and a cover plate. Two legs are detachably attached to the body and, in the operative position, form a tripod with the fishing pole so as to retain the fishing pole in an inclined position. In the storage position, the legs are selectively clamped and supported parallel to the fishing pole by two clamps attached to the body. The legs can be made up of a plurality of leg sections detachably attachable to one another.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder which mounts on the hinged lid of a tackle box and allows the lid to be opened and closed without disturbing the rod holder. A mounting base is bolted on top of the tackle box lid and receives one or more rod holding brackets which are latched to the base in a manner permitting them to turn to track a fish. Each bracket is a C-shaped device having a wire gate which closes its open side after the rod has been passed through it and into the bracket. The brackets can be removed from the base and stored in the tackle box when not in use.

Abstract: A rig for removably mounting a plurality of fishing rods on the deck of a fishing boat centrally of the aft end thereof, such rig comprising a plurality of rod holders mounted on the outboard end of an upright shaft that is received in a mounting bracket on the deck, each rod holder receiving the butt end of a rod such that the rod extends upwardly and outwardly with respect to the upright shaft, at least one rod being disposed on the starboard side of the boat and one rod being disposed on the port side of the boat. Optionally a third rod holder is provided for positioning a rod above and in alignment with the centerline of the boat and extending upwardly and outwardly above the boat motor.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder for use with tubular framed portable chairs comprising an open ended cylindrical attachment clamp having one longitudinal open side with two outwardly curved flanged edges. The flanged edges form attachment guides allowing the resilient clamp to be easily snapped-on to a framing member of the portable chair. Positioned oppositely of the longitudinal open side is a support ridge the full length of the attachment clamp. Permanently attached at an approximate forty-five degree angle to the longitudinal support ridge is an elongated open ended tube forming a fishing pole handle receiver for supporting a fishing pole.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder for use on a dock of a type having a plurality of spaced apart planks for providing a horizontal surface for people to walk upon and dock their boat against. The fishing rod holder has a base member which is substantially wider than the distance between adjacent planks on an average dock. The bottom of the base member is substantially flat and fits on top of the planks. A tubular member is rigidly secured to the top of the base member for allowing a fishing rod handle to be inserted therein. A hole extends through the base member and has an anchor bolt extending therethrough. The anchor bolt has longitudinal axis having threads formed therearound at the top of the anchor bolt. The anchor bolt has a loop on the lower end thereof. The horizontal width of the loop is narrow enough to permit the loop to pass between a space between adjacent planks on a dock in one orientation of the anchor bolt about the longitudinal axis.

The socket includes a long upper end portion and a relatively short lower end portion and the upper and lower end portions include corresponding transverse long X axes and short Y axes. Side walls of the socket defining the limits of the X axis of the upper end portion are downwardly divergent defining an included angle of approximately 20.degree. and the side walls of the socket defining the X axis of the lower end portion of the socket are downwardly divergent and define an included angle of approximately 20.degree., the socket including a generally circular cross-section in an interlineation zone between the upper and lower end portions of the socket. Further, the lower end portions of the socket include structure effectively blocking movement of a fishing rod handle downwardly therethrough.

The angle of the holding means can be adjusted to a variety of positions and the device can be easily installed or removed by means of its base which includes a vertical adjustment capability.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder mount comprising a C clamp to which a holder tube is swivelly mounted so that it can be fastened to the gunwale of a boat such as a johnboat, regardless of whether that gunwale be cylindrical or square or otherwise, and so that the fishing pole holder can be put at whatever angle the fisherman desires it to have.

Abstract: A horizontally elongated housing has upright end plates at the opposite ends of the housing with aligned upward-opening slots into which a section of a fishing rod may be inserted. Rotors having undercut hook portions extend between and are rotatably mounted on the housing end plate for swinging about parallel axes extending longitudinally of the housing. The rotor hook portions are automatically moved by insertion of the rod from positions out of registration with the end plate slots to positions registered with the slots and hooked over the top of the rod.

Abstract: The fishing rod holder includes an elongated, open ended tubular member for receiving the end of a fishing rod and a support bracket having a rear end, a front end including a support portion engaged by the tubular member and located above the rear end, and an elongated base portion located between and below the rear end front ends. The upper portion of the tubular member rear end is connected to the upper edge of the support bracket rear end for pivotal movement of the tubular member through a generally vertical plane and about a pivot axis located rearwardly and above the longitudinal axis of the tubular member between a forwardly inclined resting position engaging the support portion of the bracket and a raised position. The base portion of the bracket is removably mounted on a support, such as boat oarlock, a troll board, pier, or the like, by a pin which is mounted on and depends from the base portion and fits into a hole in the support.

Abstract: A fishing rod support for positioning and retaining a fishing pole or rod at a optimum inclined angle for fishing. The fishing rod support provides an enclosed loop member which freely receives a fishing rod handle therein and a spaced forked member to cradle the handle when it is lowered to the optimum inclined angle. As the handle is lowered it makes initial contact with axial spaced gripping areas on the loop and displaces the loop as it is lowered into the forked member to produce a biasing gripping hold on the fishing pole handle. A resilient connection between the loop member and the forked member allows for this displacement. A mounting post enables the fishing rod support to be seated in an oarlock of a boat.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder comprises an articulated support and three adjustable elongate pole pins pivotally mounted in upright angularly spaced positions on the support each for receipt in an elongate blind bore formed in a fishing pole from its butt end, so as to support the poles in angularly displaced positions. The pins can be pivoted to adjust the vertical orientation of the poles, and the holder can be attached on any suitable support surface such as the rail or transom of a fishing boat.

Abstract: A flag pole bracket is disclosed for attachment to a flat surface or a cylindrical pole. The bracket includes a body with a plurality of openings therein to support flag poles at different angles relative to each other. The bracket also includes screw holes for mounting to a flat surface, and transverse strap receiving openings to receive straps mounted around a cylindrical pole.

Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a fishing rod, includes receptacle and cover members pivotably connected to each other and movable about a pivot axis between open and closed positions, the two members when in an open relation being adapted to receive a portion of a fishing rod therebetween, and the two members when in a closed relation cooperating to define a housing circumscribing at least part of the contained portion of a fishing rod while supporting the fishing rod in a rest position with the axis thereof generally parallel to such pivot axis, and the two members being cooperative to engage with a part of the fishing rod to resist pivoting movement toward an open position in response to forces in the fishing rod tending to tilt the same on an angle with respect to such pivot axis, and an opening device or portion responsive to force applied by such fishing rod to the cover member in a direction generally perpendicular to such pivot axis to open the members to permit removing such fishing rod.

Abstract: A portable implement releasable holder is provided which has a base for securing to a rigid support therefore, and a first implement support member attached to the base and projecting upwardly therefrom. That first member has an enlarged uppermost portion which is sufficient in size to receive the stock of a sporting firearm, along with a downwardly disposed recess capable of receiving a portion of the handle of a fishing rod. A second implement support member is attached to the base and projects upwardly therefrom to a distance less than the distance of the first member. The second support member has an upwardly curved configuration such that a portion of the second member can receive and retain the butt portion of the stock of the sporting firearm. A clamping means is provided to secure the base to the support therefore.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder comprising a mounting bracket for attachment to a structural member of a boat, a tubular body member having open ends for receiving a rod handle inserted through one end and having a slot longitudinally disposed in the side thereof, mounting means for mounting the tubular body member on the mounting bracket to provide limited pivotal vertical movement with respect to the mounting bracket, a lever block mounted for limited pivotal movement with respect to the tubular member and carrying therethrough a threaded rod having a handle and a camming head with the camming head and the end of the rod projecting into the body member slot, and a tongue member having a generally semicircular cross-section disposed inside the body member and meeting and fastened at one end to the interior of the body member and covering the slot.

Abstract: Multi-rod holder and alignment device which is removably-securable in non-rotating position within a conventional rod holder mounted on a boat. The device has a support stem having two or more lower alignment slots, and two or more upper rod-holder tubes which extend substantially vertically, relative to the support stem, each tube being designed to receive a fishing rod handle and having alignment pins for securing the fishing rod against rotation therewithin.

Abstract: An outrigger fishing rod holder for mounting in or on the hull of a fishing vessel for holding a fishing rod in a fixed position until a catch is made. The device comprises a tubular member for fixedly holding the fishing rod and the tubular member in turn is pivotedly mounted in a generally U shaped holding bracket. The U shaped member in turn has a tapered mounting bracket attached to it for securing same to a mounting plate on or in the hull of the fishing vessel. The U shaped supporting bracket has a semicircular cut out portion which allows the tubular member to pivot after a catch has been made.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for hanging lanterns from vehicles comprising an elongated bracket arm having a securing means disposed at a first end for cooperation with the first end to rigidly attach the bracket arm to the vehicle, a rod having a first end with means thereon disposed for resiliently contacting a side of the vehicle and having a portion of the rod engaging a second end of the bracket arm remote from the first end and a support means disposed between the bracket arm and rod for supporting at least the first end of the rod.

Abstract: This invention is a removable and buoyant sail cradle for use on small sailboats having detachable masts and booms such as the commercially available AMF All-Court Sunfish such that the sail cradle has a stem having a hollow first end which inserts within the mast hole of a sailboat after the mast has been removed where the first end has an upper and lower portion such that the lower portion is watertightly sealed by an inserted cap and the upper portion is sealed by a second end of the sail cradle where the second end extends above the deck and has a cradle portion has a C-type ring having the open portion facing away from the stem and upward for captivating receipt of the detached mast, boom and furled sail above the deck of a sailboat while in transit. The device also doubles in utility as a sealed flotation device in the event that the boat is capsized while in use.
