Patent number: 8651449Abstract: Concrete forming panels according to the present invention are formed using a series of interlocking panel sections mechanically connected at a forward face of the panel. The mechanical connection uses a hook portion of one section received in a slot portion of an adjacent section with a pivot and stop relation defining the planar forming face. A series of brace members extend across the panel sections on a rear surface and maintain engagement of the panel sections and reinforce the panel sections against deformation of the forming face during use of the panel. The arrangement is economical to manufacture in many different sizes as may be required by a customer. Some welding is used, however the mechanical connection greatly reduces the amount of welding required. Replacement sections can easily be used to repair damaged panels.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2010Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Brand Services, LLCInventor: Clarence Pang Au

Patent number: 8485494Abstract: The concepts disclosed herein provide for a concrete mold that improves upon existing concrete molds known in the art. The hinged side-panel members that are locked to a hold-down frame allow for the mold to cure a concrete member, and then allow the concrete member to be removed without the need to break-down the frame surrounding the concrete member. During the pouring and ensuing curing process of the concrete member, the hinged side-panel members are secured to the hold-down frame and to each other in order to hold the concrete in the mold. Once the concrete is cured, the hinged side-panel members may be unlocked and opened quickly, allowing for expedient removal of the concrete member. After closing and re-locking the hinged side-panel members, the mold may be reused to cure another concrete member without the need to rebuild the frame around the mold.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2011Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Inventor: Mark E. Patent number: 7957830Abstract: A customer transmits their 3D CAD file for a part to be total profile machined. Computer analysis of the transmitted CAD file produces CNC machining instructions, which are transmitted back to an address defined by the customer. The customer can then use the transmitted CNC machining instructions to total profile machine their own part using their own CNC mill at the location where the part is likely needed. The transmitted instructions include not only the tool paths for CNC machining of the total profile of the part, but also for additional features formed into the encircling portion of a material block from which the part is to be total profile machined. For instance, the CNC machining instructions transmitted back to the customer can define a registration recess and/or channels or undercuts for fluid support material on an A-side of a material block. After the A-side of the block is machined, the customer adds and solidifies fluid support material into the machined recess.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2008Date of Patent: June 7, 2011Assignee: Proto Labs, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence J. Patent number: 4520990Abstract: A device which serves to temporarily and releasably connect two neighboring panels of a concrete form has two sections which are coupled to each other by a pivot pin, and two parallel projections each of which is carried by a discrete section. One of the projections is rigidly attached to the respective section, and the other projection is rotatable relative to its section and can be locked to the flange of one of the panels after passing through a keyhole-shaped opening of such flange. The other projection then extends into the opening of the flange which forms part of the other panel. The section for the non-rotatable projection is L-shaped and the other section is a link which can turn about the axis of the pivot pin. The non-rotatable projection is secured to the free end portion of one leg of the L-shaped section and the pivot pin connects the link to the free end portion of the other leg.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1983Date of Patent: June 4, 1985Inventor: Josef Maier

Patent number: 4450120Abstract: A form for supporting from below a layer of concrete during pouring and hardening has several square or rectangular panels having neighboring marginal portions with downwardly extending reinforcing skirts which are separably connected to each other by bolts. The panels rest on props which must be removed prior to separation of the panels from each other. In order to dismantle the form in the space below the hardened concrete layer, the props for one of the panels are removed and a dismantling device is separably coupled to a panel which is adjacent to the one panel. The dismantling device has a socket below the skirt of the one panel and the one panel is thereupon detached from the panel which carries the dismantling device so that the skirt of the one panel descends into the socket. The one panel is then pivoted with reference to the socketed part of the dismantling device so that its upper side moves away from the underside of the concrete layer.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1981Date of Patent: May 22, 1984Inventor: Josef Maier
