Abstract: A collection valve for use in a water reclamation system is provided. The collection valve comprises (i) a drain pipe connectable to a drain line in which gray water flows, the drain pipe comprising an inlet pipe, a medial pipe, and an outlet pipe; the medial pipe having a first opening rotatable from a first position to a second position; (ii) a valve plug pipe, surrounding the medial pipe, having an second opening; and (iii) an actuator assembly for rotating the medial pipe between the first and second positions. Rotating the medial pipe to the first position causes the first opening to be in alignment with the second opening causing gray water to drain into a tank. Rotating the medial pipe to the second position misaligns the first and second opening causing fluid passing through the medial pipe or drain to a sewer or septic tank.

Abstract: A quiescent zone fluid filter. A reservoir communicates via upstream and downstream communication ports with a fluid flow tube. At the upstream communication port, liquid flowing in the fluid flow tube enters a quiescent zone of the reservoir, whereupon particles therein descend. The liquid then rejoins the fluid flow tube at the downstream communication port free of particles therein. The quiescent zone fluid filter is advantageously implemented within a fluid flow control valve, as for example at the valve barrel of a barrel valve.

Abstract: A valve is used with a carburetor, and the carburetor therefor. The valve has a throttle valve and an air valve. The air valve defines an air bore and has a baffle disposed within the air bore. The baffle separates one section of the air bore from another section, and impedes airflow through the air bore during at least some positions of the air valve.

Abstract: A two-part back cap for a plug valve includes a back cap seal body and a back cap retainer nut. The back cap retainer nut secures the back cap seal body within the plug valve and securely supports the back cap seal body. A gap between an outer periphery of the back cap retainer nut and the back cap seal body permits the back cap seal body to flex and expand with a plug valve body of the plug valve. This ensures that the back cap seals are not stressed and a longer service life results.

Abstract: A double check valve (10) with two separate elements (20, 25) individually movable to close the valve and collectively movable to open the valve. The separate elements are independently closing the valve, and collectively controllable to open the valve, to allow pressure release or to allow injection of fluid (e.g. lubricant). In an example, the double check valve includes two separate check valves with a stinger element (30) between them which is operable to internally sting the one check valve when (e.g. by action of) the other check valve is stung by a user (e.g. using a stinger means) thereby to open both check valves individually and the double check valve as a whole.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flow adjustment valve (1) comprising a valve housing (2) having a flow channel (3) in which a throttle unit (4, 11) having an adjustable throttle element (11) and a shut-off unit having a shut-off element (4) which blocks the flow channel (3) in a closed position are arranged, the shut-off element (4) being actuatable from the outside by means of a handle (16). The aim of the invention is to simplify the handling of a flow adjustment valve of the aforementioned type. For this purpose, the throttle element (11) can also be actuated by means of the handle (16).

  • Patent number: 7703205
Abstract: A high-pressure plug valve is refurbished by replacing a valve plug, a valve plug cage, and flow path inserts that line a flow path through the plug valve. The valve plug cage has first and second opposed flat side surfaces, each side surface has a port for receiving one of the replaceable flow-path inserts in a fluid-tight seal. In one embodiment, refurbishing the plug valve includes replacing at least one inset seal for sealing at least one of the ports when the plug is in a closed position to inhibit leakage through the valve at low fluid pressures.

  • Patent number: 7644904
Abstract: A pressure relief valve integrally formed with a section of conduit in a closed system for pumping cementitious material eliminates any dead space in the system within which the cementitious material may flow and set, and thus avoids system disassembly for cleaning following use and the possible replacement of clogged system components. The pressure relief valve includes a hollow cylindrical housing disposed on a conduit. First and second elongated linear slots are aligned with the cylindrical housing's longitudinal axis and are disposed in opposed portions of housing, with one slot in flow communication with the conduit. A cylindrical drum having a third elongated linear slot disposed within the cylindrical housing is freely rotatable therein. A handle attached to one end of the drum allows for manual rotation of the drum for aligning the three slots permitting the discharge of cementitious material and release of pressure in the system.

  • Publication number: 20090314278
Abstract: Various embodiments of a gas valve and a sear-zone gas burner are described and claimed herein. One embodiment described herein relates to a control valve for regulating the flow of gas to a burner tube for a barbecue grill, wherein the control valve includes multiple flow settings, including a sear setting. At the sear setting, the valve is capable of providing additional gas flow to the gas burner to provide the intense heat needed to sear food. At the remaining settings, the valve is capable of providing an appropriate amount of gas flow for conventional cooking of food. Another embodiment of the gas valve is adapted to reduce the rotational offset between the off position and the maximum flow position as compared to the valves of the prior art. In that embodiment, the angular offset between the off position and the maximum flow position is approximately 45°.
