  • Patent number: 11725754
Abstract: A method for manufacturing composite tubing, conduit, pipes, and piping. The method includes providing an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve, and a reinforcement sleeve; inserting the inner sleeve into the reinforcement sleeve; placing the outer sleeve around the reinforcement sleeve; inserting a first piston into an inlet end of the inner sleeve; introducing resin between the inner and outer sleeves; inserting a second piston into the inlet end of the inner sleeve; applying motive fluid pressure, such as air pressure, at the inlet end of the inner sleeve, causing the second piston to translate along the inner sleeve, further causing the first piston to translate along the inner sleeve; whereby translation of the first and second pistons along the inner sleeve causes the resin to be impregnated into and around the reinforcement sleeve, resulting a composite final product. The impregnated reinforcement sleeve is then cured.

Abstract: A manhole liner and a method of using the same are provided. The manhole liner is sized substantially equally to the largest diameter of the manhole, so that the liner does not have to stretch to be pressed against the manhole wall. Additionally, the liner is impregnated with a resinous material capable of curing and hardening. The bladder is expanded to press the liner against the wall of the manhole to dispense resinous material from the liner, while the liner is able to fold over itself in areas having a diameter less than the original diameter of the liner. Because the bladder stretches to produce a smooth outside surface, the resinous material will migrate to areas in the folds and will cure with a smooth interior surface.

Material is then injected into an interior volume enclosed by the outer cover to form an inner core that permanently bonds with the outer cover. The outer cover of the game ball has a stitch pattern that mimics the stitching and seam of a conventional stitched game ball.

Abstract: A hollow golf club head with a concave portion is disclosed and claimed. The club head includes a metallic portion and a light-weight portion, which may be formed of plastic, composite, or the like. The concave portion allows the club designer to make a club head having very thin portions while still maintaining the requisite structural integrity. Convex bulges may optionally be provided to house weight inserts to enhance the playing characteristics of the golf club. The metallic portion of the club head may take on the appearance of a frame, into which several light-weight inserts are positioned. These light-weight inserts may be positioned in the crown, skirt, and sole of the club head. The club head may be formed by co-molding, eliminating the need for welding or adhesives, freeing mass to be used in more beneficial ways. The club head may be large to increase playability and forgiveness.

Abstract: The present application discloses a progressive cavity motor or pump component, either stator or rotor, which provides a high glass transition temperature polymeric surface on the component which becomes resilient at or below the expected operating temperature of the motor or pump, but which remains solid at ambient temperatures, along with a method of fabricating either a stator or a rotor with such surface characteristics. Since the surface becomes resilient, the progressive cavity pump operates efficiently at temperatures above the glass transition temperature of the selected polymeric surface.

Abstract: An existing-pipe rehabilitation method for constructing a rehabilitation pipe inside an existing pipe to rehabilitate the existing pipe. A rehabilitation pipe is constructed inside an existing pipe by coupling segments in the circumferential direction and the lengthwise direction of the existing pipe so that the rehabilitation pipe has a constant outer diameter. A lining material impregnated with a liquid curable resin is inserted into the rehabilitation pipe thus constructed. The liquid curable resin is cured to line the internal circumferential surface of the rehabilitation pipe with the lining material so that an inner diameter of the rehabilitation pipe lined with the lining material is smaller than an inner diameter of the existing pipe.

Abstract: A method for curing a resin contained in a liner of an underground pipe or passageway by use of a mobile magnetron module. The module navigates the length of the passageway of pipe via air pressure which also keeps the liner inflated. A winch attached to the module regulates the rate at which the module traverses the passageway or pipe. As the module makes its way through the passageway or pipe, the magnetron emits microwaves which cures the resin. Additionally, a thermal imaging camera can be utilized in the module or trailing the module to monitor the status of the curing of the resin in its entirety.

  • Patent number: 8286348
Abstract: A method of forming integrally bladed rotors for gas turbines is described. The method includes drilling in a workpiece material recesses defining flow passages and rotor blades, performing a coarse milling step to refine surfaces of the rotor blades, and filling the recesses between the rotor blades with a damping material, thus encasing the rotor blades in the damping material. The method further includes performing a finishing milling step to remove the damping material and the workpiece material on surfaces of the rotor blades, while maximizing a damping effect of the damping material on the rotor blades. To maximize the damping effect, the finishing milling tool moves along a path that preferentially mills one surface of a blade while the other surface is in contact with the damping material.
