  • Patent number: 11833726
Abstract: A system and method are presented in which a flow of plastic is extruded to obtain nano-sized features by forming multiple laminated flow streams, flowing in parallel through the non-rotating extrusion system. Each of the parallel laminated flow streams are subjected to repeated steps in which the flows are compressed, divided, and overlapped to amplify the number of laminations. The parallel amplified laminated flows are rejoined to form a combined laminated output with nano-sized features. The die exit is formed to provide a tubular shape.

Abstract: A method of vacuum forming an object includes heating a plastic sheet. After heating the plastic sheet, a vacuum is applied to pull the sheet against an outer surface of a flexible mold so that the plastic sheet has a formed shape that conforms to a contoured shape of the outer surface of the flexible mold. A rigid core is withdrawn from a cavity in the flexible mold. The flexible mold is then withdrawn from the plastic sheet by applying force to the flexible mold in a single direction, thereby causing flexing of the flexible mold past the undercut. The jaws (10) have outer jaw surfaces which are intended for engagement with the inner surface of the pipe end and which lie adjacent to one another in the retracted position of the jaws (10) and have an at least generally circular arcuate shape in cross-section. The expander tool (1) further comprises a piston (2) or cone with a tapered end for moving the jaws (10) between the retracted and the outer expanded positions and the piston (2) is moved in a reciprocating manner in the axial direction before expanding the pipe end gradually in the stages. The axial reciprocating movement of the piston (2) is guided to rotate the jaws (10) to a certain extent in a circumferential direction after each expansion stage.

Abstract: A drawing apparatus is capable of releasing a material, the inner surface of which has been formed into a concavo-convex shape with drawing, from a mold with excellent release performance, even in the case where the concavo-convex part formed in the inner surface of the product is of a shape causing it to get caught in the direction of pulling out of the product against the mold. The mold is formed in a split structure having a concavo-convex surface shape and is contractible in diameter after the forming of the material.

  • Patent number: 7754133
Abstract: A product and method where a multi-colored product is rotationally molded with no or essentially no blending of the colors. A separation sheet is positioned in the mold to separate relatively adjacent portions of the mold cavity that contain differently colored resins. The separation sheet acts as a barrier to prevent the differently colored resins from blending during the molding process. During the molding process, the molten resins may fuse to opposite sides of the separation sheet, or the separation sheet may melt and disperse, all or in part, within the mold while maintaining a distinct color difference between the differently colored portions of the molded product.

Abstract: The disclosed method for fabricating low cost laryngeal mask devices includes providing a mold, the mold including interior walls that define a hollow interior volume. The interior volume includes a first portion and a second portion. A liquid plastic material is introduced into the mold, and then the mold is moved so as to coat the mold's interior walls. The liquid plastic material and then allowed to cure. The cured plastic material is then removed from the mold and the cured plastic material includes a generally elliptically shaped plate and a cuff. The cuff is formed from plastic material that coated the portion of the interior walls that defined the first portion. The plate defines a laryngeal side, a pharyngeal side, and a central aperture. An interior perimeter of the cuff is attached to the laryngeal side of the plate proximal to a perimeter of the central aperture. An outer perimeter of the cuff is attached to the laryngeal side of the plate proximal to an outer perimeter of the plate.
