  • Patent number: 5690335
Abstract: A method of apportioning wagers between a plurality of game players includes each player receiving two cards, and having the option of drawing one additional card. The playing cards have numerical values of, ace equals one, picture cards equal zero, and all other cards equaling their face value. The cards in each player's hand are summed to form a numerical total. The least significant digit of the numerical total determines the winner, wherein a least significant digit of nine or closest thereto is the best hand. Additional game features include (1) a provision which eliminates ties (pushes), (2) a set of special dice (300/400) which are used to determine an action player, (3) a secondary player-banker who takes over for the player-banker if the bank does not reach all the players, and (4) a fast-action-bank feature in which the role of the player-banker may change during a round of play.

  • Patent number: 5688126
Abstract: An arithmetic game for teaching students basic mathematical skills includes a playing board, four dice, and a complement of playing pieces, or markers. Indicia disposed on the boards and dice determine whether and where a player may place a marker on the board. Board indicia includes numerals two-dimensionally arranged to form a mathematical table. Indicia disposed on the dice includes numerals and mathematical functions. Results are mathematically calculated by a player from the various two numeral combinations presented by the dice. The player evaluates the results to assess the strategic significance of each, and a marker is placed at a position on the mathematical table corresponding to the chosen result. The first player to connect his or her markers from one side of the mathematical table to the other side wins.

  • Patent number: 5605331
Abstract: A dice game and board are disclosed and a lead player is determined. The lead player and all succeeding players each have a turn in each round of play. The lead player rolls eight dice in an attempt to get the greatest number of either 6's, 5's, 4's, 3's, 2's, or 1's. In any turn the lead player may roll up to five of the dice twice after the initial roll in an effort to add to the number of 6's, 5's, 4's, 3's, 2's, or 1's rolled in the first roll. A predetermined value is assigned to the result of the lead player's turn. This value may be indicated upon the game board by placing a colored marker peg at the appropriate value on the game board. Subsequent players attempt to achieve a result of a higher predetermined value than that achieved by the lead player in the same number of rolls used by the lead player. If one or more subsequent players achieve a result higher than that of the lead player, the subsequent player with the highest result becomes the lead player and begins a new round of play.

  • Patent number: 5364101
Abstract: A method is disclosed for playing a CASINO dice game with a set of six identical dice in which each die has a different symbol on each face. The symbol may be one of the letters of the same six lettered word CASINO or one of six different colors. A scoring system assigns a predetermined point value to individual symbols or combined symbols. A player must reach a threshold level of 1000 points and surrender his turn before rolling nothing of value for that player's points to count, failing which he loses his turn and all points accumulated during that turn. The players then continue to play until one player ends the game by reaching 10,000 points. That player may choose to surrender his turn and establish his final score as the winning high score or continue his turn to establish an even higher score, at the risk of losing his turn, his points for that turn, and the established winning score if he rolls nothing of value.

  • Patent number: 5224708
Abstract: 12-sided and 20-sided dice are disclosed which have a suit symbol and a value symbol on each surface representing one of the various playing cards in a standard 52 card playing deck. The 12-sided die will carry 3 different value symbols for each of the 4 suits and, accordingly, will depict 12 different cards, one on each of its surfaces which are identically shaped pentagons. A game is disclosed which employ three or more of such dice, all identical. In another embodiment a 20-sided die is provided which carries 5 values of each of the four suits. In all embodiments, parallel, opposing surfaces will bear the same value symbol and no two surfaces adjoined together along a common edge will bear the same suit symbol. This symmetrical arrangement provides for integrity of chance in re-rolling the dice and complete randomness of chance.

  • Patent number: 5199709
Abstract: An apparatus and method of selecting a set of integers from a larger, predetermined sequence of integers, whereby a multiplicity of dice equal in number to the number of integers in said predetermined sequence of integers is provided, with each die having a plurality of exterior faces with an integer of the predetermined sequence on only one face of each die. Moreover, at least a portion of the integer bearing face has one of a predetermined set of colors, such that each color is associated with a subset of integers from the predetermined sequence of integers, such that each subset is generated by reviewing the number of times each integer was chosen in a previous years lottery with those integers appearing most often having a first color, those integers appearing next most often having a second color, until finally the integer appearing least often is assigned a last color. The color appearing on the face of the die being the color associated with the subset of which the facing integer is a member.

  • Patent number: 5167503
Abstract: An educational game has a playing board on which is imprinted a pathway. The pathway contains a plurality of segments, each segment being separated, one from the other by an object image portion. Each segment is sub-divided into spaces bearing alpha-numeric indicia with each segment being a different selected color. There is a die associated with each of the segments and which bears the color of an associated segment. Each such die bears the alpha-numeric indicia associated with that given colored segment. On one face of each die is an object image as depicted in the object image portions between the primary segments of the pathway on the playing board. A child learns the colors of the segments, the colors of each of the dice employed, and the names of the objects which appear in the object spaces and on the object face of each die. Play is easily learned by the preschool children.
