Abstract: Disclosed is a non-transitive casino game which utilizes a group of non-transitive gaming devices, One embodiment uses dice. Accordingly, each pair of dice has advantage over one other pair of non-transitive dice in the group. Each pair of dice has a different color to allow a banker or dealer to identify the hierarchy of the dice. In a table game version, a player first selects one pair of non-transitive dice from a group of non-transitive dice. A dealer then selects one of the remaining pair of the non-transitive dice. The dealer's selection ensures the dealer dice have a better than fifty percent advantage over the player-selected dice, neglecting any ties. A game comprises the player rolling the player-selected dice and the dealer rolling the dealer selected dice three successive times. • Patent number: 8028993
Abstract: A roulette wheel (1) has a ball detector (9a, 9b, 9c) to detect the ball as the ball travels round the rim (3) of the roulette wheel and a drop determiner (21) to determine, for each of a number of games of roulette, the region of the rim from which the ball fell from the rim. Data representing, for a number of games, the region of the rim from which the ball fell from the rim may then be stored for later analysis or may be directly analysed to determine any drop zone bias. The ball detector may be a number of ball detecting elements (9a, 9b, 9c) spaced apart around the rim (3) of the roulette wheel for each providing a ball detection signal as the ball travels through a corresponding region (R1, R2 and R3) of the rim and the drop detector (21) may determine the region of the rim from which the ball fell from the rim by determining the detecting element passed last by the ball.

  • Patent number: 7874903
Abstract: A system and method for adding a bonus round to any poker-style card game on a Nevada-style gaming machine. The bonus round is characterized by the existence of a match card. The match card is not part of the traditional poker hand (the “in-hand” cards) of the player, and only comes into play during a bonus round. The suit and value of the match card may be generated by the game machine or a remote game controller or backend server. The match card is then displayed in a manner visually associating the match card with one of the player's “in-hand” cards. A bonus is determined by evaluating the associated pair. Alternatively a bonus may be determined first, in which case the game machine determines a match card and associated card from the player's in-hand cards that is the equivalent of the predetermined bonus.

Abstract: A casino style card game, played in accordance with the standard rules of Blackjack, also known as “21,” and including an auxiliary component allowing additional wagering on the outcome of the dealer's hand for each participating player. Participating players are able to wager on the dealer having a non-breaking hand (i.e., a hand having a value less than 21 in accordance with the rules of Blackjack) containing two, three, four, five, six, or seven cards. Wagers may also be made on the dealer having an even or odd count, or an all read or all black hand. A return is paid on wagers in the auxiliary game only if the dealer hand does not “bust” (i.e, exceed a value of 21). The game is also playable in electronic or other automated versions using, for example, terminals and networks, or slot machines.

  • Patent number: 7857310
Abstract: A gaming machine includes a dice releasing unit, a game section, a player terminal, and a controller. The dice releasing unit sequentially releases a plurality of dice. The game section has a stopping plate that causes the dice released from the dice releasing unit to rest. The player terminal has a display through which a player can place a bet on predicted dots to appear on tops of the plurality of dice. The controller is configured with logic to (i) control the dice releasing unit to release the plurality of dice, (ii) control the player terminal so as to perform a bet operation, and (iii) control a payout of game media in accordance with an award. The controller receives, from the player terminal, a signal indicative of placing the bet on the predicted dots in combination with an order of release of the plurality of dice.

Abstract: A method of hosting a press-your-luck challenge includes receiving a stake from a player and iteratively beginning phases of the press-your-luck challenge. Each phase of the press-your-luck challenge comprises dealing an active subset of game items from a set of game items. If the active subset of game items is defeated by an immediately previous subset of game items, the press-your-luck challenge is ended. If the active subset of game items is not defeated by an immediately previous subset of game items, the player is offered a return equal to a total value of the active subset of game items. If the player accepts the return, the player is awarded the return and the press-your-luck challenge ends. If the player declines the return, a subsequent phase of the press-your-luck challenge is begun.

  • Patent number: 7845642
Abstract: A multi-stage card game includes stages at which each player selects which unrevealed cards are to be played. In one implementation, bets are received for at least some stages of a multi-stage poker-like game. Cards are dealt into an unrevealed dealer hand and an unrevealed player hand for each player. For at least one of the stages, each player selects one of the cards from the player's unrevealed hand to reveal in order to access a progression of payout schedules. Each player's hand accumulates player-selected cards across the stages of the game and across associated payout schedules, until all cards are revealed. A player's poker hand is then compared to the dealer's poker hand for potential payout. Opportunities for bonus bets are also interjected into implementations of the game.

  • Patent number: 7815500
Abstract: An interactive poker game which provides a predetermined outcome to a player. The gaming device initially displays a plurality of individual sets or hands of face down playing cards. The gaming device determines, based on the obtained predetermined game outcome, one or more playing cards to display to the player for one or more of the individual hands of playing cards. The gaming device then enables the player to select one of the individual poker hands to play as the player's active poker hand. The gaming device determines which playing cards must be provided to the actively played poker hand to provide the player the selected predetermined game outcome. The active poker hand is provided any determined cards which when combined with any previously revealed playing cards in the player selected poker hands results in a poker hand with an associated payout equal to the payout associated with the predetermined game outcome.
