Abstract: A card shuffling machine (10) includes a turntable (14) in which a plurality of cards (26) rest in respective trays (24). When the turntable (14) is spun, a tongue-like detent (30) resiliently strikes a circular arrangement of peg-like dividers (28) which progressively slows the turntable (14) to a stopped condition. A pointing device singulates one of the cards (26) which can be lifted from its tray (24) and the indicia thereon announced as a game decision. The indicia on the singulated card (26) can be scanned with a machine-readable code and processed through a digital processor (38) to resolve a variety of games played through respective computerized consoles (44).

Abstract: A wagering game wherein a player is dealt a card and the dealer is dealt a card, and a player wins if a player's card and the dealer's card are of equal rank, or if a player is dealt a second card that falls in rank between a player's card and a dealer's card. The player is given an option to exchange his or her initial card. The player is also given an option to double his or her wager before his second card is dealt. A bonus round can also be offered wherein a bonus card is dealt and the player wins a bonus if the bonus card falls between the dealer's card and the player's second card.

Abstract: A method of simulating a traditional craps game experience using a specially designed deck of thirty six (36) playing cards to determine play rather than rolling dice. The deck of playing cards includes one card for each possible roll combination of a pair of dice. The deck is shuffled so that the cards are drawn at random to simulate a player rolling dice. The stickman activates the shuffler to draw a card from the shuffled deck. A bar code on the drawn card is read into a computer via a scanner and the computer then provides a visual representation of a dice roll on the monitors provided on either end of the craps table with the visualization showing the dice landing on the roll combination dictated by the drawn card. The display is activated when the shooter rolls the trackball mouse.

Abstract: A method of playing a Blackjack game provides a side-bet against a bust. Should a bust occur the bust card is combined with four subsequently dealt playing cards to define a five-card poker hand. This resulting poker hand is compared to a predetermined hierarchy of poker hands, and payouts are awarded for winning outcomes.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of conducting a game, such as a game of poker, conducted in stages with a game decision performed at each game stage. A game wager is received and a game stage is conducted. After a game stage, a player decision of placing a wager or folding is received. After at least one additional game stage, a second game decision is received from a player electing to defer of folding or placing a re-entry wager. A game outcome is determined and the game is resolved.

Abstract: A method of playing a poker-type wagering game is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: a) placing a mandatory Ante bet to participate in a poker-type card game against a dealer hand; b) placing a mandatory Super Bonus bet on the occurrence of one of a predetermined plurality of winning poker hands; c) a dealer dealing at least two hands of cards to the dealer position and a hand of cards to each player participating in the game; d) and when the dealer's first hand meets or exceeds a predetermined high ranking hand value, discarding the first hand and playing the second hand; e) each player placing an additional mandatory Bet after viewing at least the player's hand of cards to stay in the game; f) resolving each player hand against the dealer hand; g) paying the player on the Ante and Bet if the player's hand ranking exceeds that of the dealer; and h) paying the player on the Super Bonus bet if the player hand is one of a plurality of predetermined winning poker hands.

Abstract: A wager for casino craps which allows a player to win when a come out shooter makes a hard point (e.g. rolls 2/2 or 3/3 or 4/4 or 5/5), and then the shooter makes the point (before the shooter rolls a seven) with the same hard point (e.g. 2/2 or 3/3 or 4/4 or 5/5). If the shooter does not roll a hard point (1/1 and 6/6 are considered ‘craps’ and are not points) or the shooter rolls a hard point on the come out roll but does not make the same hard point before rolling a seven (or makes the point without rolling the hard point), then the player loses the wager.

Abstract: A source of symbols with two primary distinguishable characteristics is provided in a wagering environment. A player has wagering opportunities on a sequence of events, wagering on either of the primary distinguishable characteristics for each event in the sequence of events. Playing cards may be used as the source of symbols, such as a 52-card standard deck with one or two jokers or other non-standard cards. Wagers can be placed on each of the number of events in the sequence and special events that occur in the sequence (all symbols of the same characteristic, a particular card or other predetermined events). Side bets may also be placed on the events. Bets may be placed on the color of a limited number of cards dealt to a community flop, with the joker(s) providing a basis for house retention or profits on wagers.

Abstract: A method of playing a poker-type bonus to another game that is triggered by an event in the game. After being triggered, a plurality of revealed, two-card starter hands and five unrevealed community cards are displayed. The unrevealed cards are then revealed. Each starter hand is combined with the community cards to form complete hands. The player is paid a predetermined amount if any of the complete hands is found in a pay table.

Abstract: A trivia game includes more than one answer choice to each question. The players generate each answer choice.

Abstract: A side wager for blackjack that allows the player to win when the player loses a hand that the player would have expected to win. If the player is initially dealt a good hand, e.g., 20, and the player still loses, then the player can be rewarded by collecting a “bad beat” award.

Abstract: In a casino game, such as Roulette, players are offered the ability to place a repetitive event wager that the same event will occur consecutively a particular number of times in a row. In the example of Roulette, before the roulette wheel is spun, a player places a repetitive event wager. The roulette wheel is then spun, and the ball lands on a particular pocket. If the event did not occur as a result of the spin, the repetitive event wager is over, and the player loses the wager. If the event did occur, the process is repeated. Ultimately, if the event occurs the particular number of times in a row, the player is paid a payout of a predetermined multiple of the amount of the repetitive event wager.

Abstract: A player places an ante wager to participate in the play of the underlying card game. An initial deal of at least one communal partial hand of poker consisting of at least one card is dealt from a single (or multiple) standard deck(s) of cards, standard deck(s) of cards with certain cards removed, or standard deck(s) of cards that is augmented by wild cards or jokers, especially with a partial communal hand consisting of two face-up cards. The player is directed to consider the partial hand and is then directed to choose to play the partial hand as either a 5-card stud game, a 6-card stud game, or a 7-card stud game by placing an additional Play wager on a particular Play Bet circle (i.e., the 5-card game, the 6-card game or the 7-card stud game. Three additional community cards are then dealt face up to complete the 5-card stud hand, and subsequently a 4th and 5th community card.

Abstract: An improvement to two groups of wagering games with at least one player hand and a dealer hand. In one group, the gaming pieces in a hand are divided into two or more sub-hands. In the other group the games include a Reverse Bet and/or a Push Bet. Games may be in both groups. In the improved versions of these games, at least one type of wager has a minimum hand value, known as a qualifier. When a pre-specified hand has that hand value or higher, one method of settling wagers is used. Otherwise, a different method is used for settling at least one type of wager. Introducing this qualifier allows a casino to adjust the advantage for the dealer, making several desirable options practical for these games.

Abstract: A wagering game between a dealer and one or more players involving one or more decks of cards, a plurality of betting boards and player markers. Each betting board has four betting places corresponding to one of four card suits and two betting places corresponding to one of two card colors. A ladder presenting progressively increasing designated odds payoff is represented above the betting places. Each player makes a bet by selecting a betting place with a marker. A dealer deals one card. If the betting place matches the suit or color of the card dealt, the player is a winner. The winner may accept the designated odds payoff or may continue play during the next iteration at a higher designated odds payoff. If the player's betting place does not match the suit or color of the card dealt, the player loses and the dealer is the winner.

Abstract: A roulette game including a board game surface and roulette wheel, wherein besides the traditional roulette wheel wagering opportunities, an additional novel wagering area is provided for additional “side betting.” That is, a side wagering area comprising ten individual wagering areas corresponding to a digit value 0, . . . , 9, is provided for the game board surface. A bettor may conduct a wager by placing a chip or marker on a particular digit value of the side wagering area for indicating a wager that a resulting digit of a one digit or two digit whole number roulette spin outcome will match that digit value being wagered. The payout odds for a winning side bet adheres to house advantages established for both American and European style roulette games.

Abstract: A method of playing a side game is provided in combination with a game of chance such as Pai Gow Poker where a dealer hand of playing cards is dealt to a dealer and a player hand of playing cards is dealt to a player. The method includes receiving a side game wager from the player, which is resolved according to the playing cards in the player hand. Typically, the side game wager is resolved according to non-poker combinations, such as characteristics of the playing cards including card color, picture cards or the like.

Abstract: A preferred method includes displaying a plurality of indicia-bearing game pieces 12 on a gaming grid 14. A player then selects game pieces 12 that are adjacent and that have matching indicia 16. Preferably, the matching adjacent game pieces 34 that are selected are then removed from the gaming grid 14. One or more prizes are awarded in association with the selection and removal of the matching adjacent game pieces 34. Preferably, the player is also provided with the ability to shuffle any remaining non-selected game pieces 32, after all matching adjacent game pieces that are perceived by the player are selected and removed. In this regard, it is possible that the player may overlook some matching adjacent game pieces 34. Additionally, some preferred embodiment gaming methods incorporate the use of multiple indicia 16 on each game piece 12 for potentially matching with adjacent game pieces.

Abstract: A method for arranging indicia on a game surface and on an associated roulette wheel. Indicia indicating numbers from 1 through 36 are arranged on the game surface in ascending order with half of the numbers associated with a first color and half associated with a second color. The numbers are arranged in three groups of twelve, each group having three even numbers and three odd numbers associated with each of the two colors. Indicia indicating each of the numbers are arranged on a roulette wheel such that no two adjacent numbers on the roulette wheel are associated with a same color, are disposed in a same group, are disposed in a same column, are disposed in a same row, or are disposed adjacent one another on the game surface and such that each pair of numbers disposed substantially diametrically across from one another on the roulette wheel is disposed in a same group and column on the game surface.

Abstract: A gaming machine with interactive pop-up windows providing enhanced game play schemes, including side-bet schemes, is described herein. Placing a side-bet utilizing interactive pop-up windows enables the player to make an additional wager to “purchase” one of any number of game enhancements, or to “side-bet” that the game outcome will include a particular symbol or symbol combination, depending on the side-bet scheme enabled for a particular gaming machine. In an embodiment, the player has an option to select one or more side-bet(s) via a pop-up window(s) prior to game play initiation. In another embodiment, the player has an option to select one or more side-bet(s) via a pop-up window(s) after a partial game outcome is displayed.

Abstract: Methods of playing a baccarat card game variation are presented including: providing a 52-card deck of playing cards; placing a wager a player bet line or a banker bet line by a player, where the wager includes a player bet line wager and a banker bet line wager; dealing a pair of cards to each of a banker hand and a community hand, where the banker hand includes a banker face-up card and a banker face-down card, and where the community hand includes a first community face-up card and a second community face-up card; if a community hand sum is less than 4, dealing a community hit card to the community hand; if the community hand sum is greater than 6, standing on the community hand; and if the community hand sum is greater than 3 and less than 7, optionally dealing a community hit card to the community hand.

Abstract: A game is provided based on the results of a random value generator, and a playing surface useful for some versions of the game is also provided. Some versions of the game involve a dice game reminiscent of bunko, in which rewards are given based on the results of die rolls. Like bunko, these versions of the game require infrequent decision-making during play, allowing the players to relax and socialize instead of constantly concentrating on the details of play. A gambling version of the game is provided, in which payouts depend in part on the number of target values rolled.

Abstract: Disclosed is modified roulette game wherein a plurality of values are selected and analyzed during each round of play. A set of predetermined playing cards is used to determine values that determine the outcome of bets. The gaming method includes: dealing a plurality of community cards from a predetermined set of cards and using a predetermined community card (e.g., last card dealt) to determine the result of all roulette-type bets. The player may also make optional side bets based on the outcome of two or more of the community cards dealt (e.g., that the community cards will form a winning poker combination (poker-type bet) or that the first and last community cards dealt will be jokers (Wild Viking bet)). A gaming layout is also disclosed and includes a plurality of betting positions that correspond to the predetermined set of cards, the poker type bets, and other types of possible bets.

Abstract: A card game and method of playing the card game is disclosed. The card game involves placing cards into pre-defined card positions in the form of grids or matrices. For example, a 3×3 grid is filled with nine cards. Game outcome combinations are defined by three horizontal, three vertical and two diagonal pay lines. Another grid arrangement includes a 3×3 grid with each row and column having an extra card position at each end thereof. Accordingly, after the 3×3 grid is filled with random cards, a player may select one or more pay lines after which the two extra card positions are filled. The player is paid for any winning hands formed of the five card defined by the selected pay lines. Countless grid arrangements and pay lines are conceivable. In other versions, the player may replace one or more initially dealt, displayed or otherwise provided cards. The card game and method disclosed herein may be played through an electronic gaming device, over the Internet or at a live gaming table with a dealer.

Abstract: Card and/or dice games which can be played among several players. Each player tries to obtain a better poker hand than the other players. A player with the best poker hand can win the pot.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for verifying players' bets on a gaming table is comprised of a system that can detect the monetary value of a wager that is placed by a particular player at a gaming table. Once all betting is finalized, the detected monetary value of the players' bets is locked and/or recorded thereby preventing that value from being changed by the addition or removal of betting chip(s) from a player's respective bet. If after the results of the gaming round, there is a discrepancy or mismatch between a player's wager and the locked monetary value of a player's bet, casino personnel will be alerted of the player's possible cheating practices thereby enabling them to investigate the matter.

Abstract: A side bet game, for a game of blackjack between a dealer and a player where the player is dealt two initial cards and the dealer is dealt a single initial card, involves allowing the player to place a side bet in addition to a blackjack hand bet of the game of blackjack and determining a three card hand comprising the two initial cards of the player and the single initial card of the dealer. The player is paid a winning amount if the three card hand is comprised of three eights, suited or unsuited, is comprised of a 5-6-7, is comprised of any three-of-a-kind, is comprised of two 8's, is comprised of a total of 8, 18, or 28, or is comprised of two cards with matching index values.

Abstract: A card game has several groups of cards with the cards of each group identified by a common color and the cards of each of the groups are successively numbered. A player is given four cards face down and four cards in his hand. In a play of the cards, a player displays one card from his hand and selects one of his face down cards to play it against. The player declares whether the displayed card is higher or lower than the selected card and wins points if his declaration is correct.

Abstract: A method for playing a multi-player table game similar to craps includes use of a point generation device capable of randomly selecting one outcome from a group consisting of thirty-seven or thirty-eight possible outcomes. Betting locations similar to the game of craps are provided on a betting surface (12). Twelve common betting locations (22) allow proposition bets based on the sum of two six-sided dice, together with an additional possible outcome comprised of a wild non-die depiction. Player positions (18) are designated about the betting surface (12), with replicas (48) of each player position (18) affixed within each of the twelve common betting locations (22), as well as at respective first (54) and second (56) color bet locations distributed about the betting surface (12). Game play enables a dealer to handle only value cheques. The game method can utilize a variety of point generation devices (14, 14?) thereby making the game suitable for many jurisdictions and interesting for players.

Abstract: Electronic game systems with player-controllable security for display images are described. In one implementation, an exemplary multiplayer system hides the identity of virtual game artifacts, such as playing cards, being displayed as images, but allows the player to whom the virtual game artifacts are assigned to view the identities of the virtual game artifacts at will. A sensor or a player-controlled device, such as a switch or a touch screen display, can change a display image in order to hide or reveal at least part of the identity of the virtual game artifact. The display image being secured by the system can be a virtual representation of a playing card, die, dice, domino, game tile, game-piece, roulette number, slot symbol, icon, or token. The system can also shield the identity of the virtual game artifact while the display image is at one visual size, and reveal the identity of the virtual game artifact when shrinking the visual size of the display image to afford security.

Abstract: An improved video draw poker game is disclosed wherein for each round of game play five hands of cards are sequentially dealt and played. Bets are placed on each hand, and the player selects some cards in each hand to be held, or to be rejected and replaced. Cards that are either held or rejected by a player in one hand of cards are moved forward to be played in a subsequent one of the five hands of cards to attempt to develop a better hand. The moved cards are replaced in the hand from which they are originally dealt.

Abstract: The two game systems I have invented: POKER CRAPS and MAXI POKER are played using a table and a device. Same identical table is used for both systems. Table provides 13 racks for players' chips. Racks are numbered 1 through 13 identifying each player numerically. Table displays twice 44 symbols, one on right hand side, and once on left hand side: 10 poker hands 14 color symbols 13 numbers 1 through 13 4 card suits: hearts, diamonds spades, clubs 3 symbols: joker, mega, red 7 Symbols: see page 3 of my Patent Application. Two separate devices used: one for each game system. Each device has a stationary circle with slots displaying same symbols as table, and a spinning wheel with arrows. Spin wheel is manually made to rotate and stop pointing winners or losers. Pages 8-10 of my Patent Application explain how to play both game systems.

Abstract: One method for playing a poker game is provided. The poker game comprises dealing an initial hand from a deck of playing cards. A player is allowed to discard and replace as few as none, and as many as all, of the cards from the initial hand. The resulting hand is evaluated to determine whether the player has a three-of-a-kind, and if so, a second draw is triggered. The second draw provides the player with another opportunity to obtain a four-of-a-kind without the need for an additional wager, by allowing the player to discard at least one card and draw a replacement card for each card discarded.

Abstract: The present invention provides a game for play between a player and a dealer including an initial bet, a set of player cards, and a set of dealer cards. The player cards are arranged into at least first and second player hands, while the dealer cards are arranged into at least first and second dealer hands. The player may make elect to make a supplemental bet following arrangement of the player cards but before arrangement of the dealer cards. The initial bet and the supplemental bet are resolved by comparing the player hands with the dealer hands. The present invention also provides a method of playing the game described herein.

Abstract: A method of conducting a wagering game is disclosed. Players may place wagers on a designated player's hand or a banker's/dealer's hand. Once wagers are placed, the designated player and a banker/dealer are each dealt two cards. A point value is established for the two cards based on a scoring system wherein aces count as one point, tens and face cards count as zero points and twos through nine count as their face value. The point values of the player's hand and the banker's/dealer's hand are then compared to determine a winner based on which hand is nearest to nine. For two digit hand values, only the one's digit is used. Winning wagers are paid at 1 to 1 odds. Should a tie outcome occur, all players pay a commission on their wagers whether on the player's hand or the banker's/dealer's hand. In an alternative version, each player plays individually against a banker/dealer.

Abstract: A method of playing a blackjack game permits a player to place an initial wager on either the player's hand or on the dealer's hand. If placed on the player's hand, play continues under traditional blackjack rules. If the initial wager is placed on the dealer's hand, play of the player's hand is substantially in accordance with the house rules for play of the dealer's hand. If both the player's hand and the dealer's hand bust when the bet is on the dealer's hand, a portion of the initial player bet is forfeited to maintain a house advantage.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for playing a dice game. The game uses two ordinary six-sided dice, one gold and one red rolled on a table felt. A player may choose from various wagers on each roll. The “red” bet shall win if the red die is higher than the gold die. Wins pay even money, less a 5% commission, and ties push. The “gold” bet shall win if the gold die is higher than the red die. Wins pay even money, less a 5% commission, and ties push. The “any Pair” bet shall win if both dice roll any pair. “any Pair” bet wins shall pay 4 to 1. There are six “Specific Pair” bets, one for each pair from 1-1 through 6-6. Wins on “any Pair” bet each bet shall pay 30 to 1.

Abstract: A dual wheel roulette game apparatus and method of use is disclosed. An apparatus for facilitating a roulette game includes two distinct, independent roulette wheels. Numbered compartments on each wheel designate conventional roulette numbers (e.g., 1-36) such that a number has two chances to occur. Additional compartments are added to each wheel to increase the number of wagering opportunities. One wheel may have more compartments than the other such that a jackpot wager and payout may be based on outcomes associated with lower probability outcomes.

Abstract: A method of playing a blackjack game permits a player to place two wagers, obtaining two blackjack hands, and a bonus wager to participate in a side bet. Abstract: A system and method for facilitating play of a poker game utilizing mathematical dealer qualification criteria that impact the manner in which the game proceeds. The player(s) and dealer ante, and starting hands are dealt to the player(s) and dealer. The player may fold and lose the ante, or place a bet. The dealer's starting hand must meet mathematical qualifying criteria, such as a particular sum of point values assigned to each card. If the criteria is not met, the dealer does not qualify, and the player(s) win the dealer's ante amount. If the dealer's starting hand qualifies, the dealer calls the players' bets, and deals a community hand. Using their respective starting hands and the community hand, each of the players and dealer arrives at a resulting hand. If a player's resulting hand beats the dealer's based on poker rank, that player wins.

Abstract: A bet which may cause a regular payout to be given to a player is received, and at the same time a bet which may cause a bonus payout which is given to the player separately from the regular payout to be given together with the regular payout is received. By receiving a bet on a game result based on values of several dice cast, a craps game for determining win or loss of the player is executed. At least the regular payout is given in accordance with a bet made by the player who has won the craps game.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for verifying players' bets on a gaming table is comprised of a system that can detect the monetary value of a wager that is placed by a particular player at a gaming table. Once all betting is finalized, the detected monetary value of the players' bets is locked and/or recorded thereby preventing that value from being changed by the addition or removal of betting chip(s) from a player's respective bet. If after the results of the gaming round, there is a discrepancy or mismatch between a player's wager and the locked monetary value of a player's bet, casino personnel will be alerted of the player's possible cheating practices thereby enabling them to investigate the matter.
