Publication number: 20040108659Abstract: A three-dimensional archery target having at least one three-dimensional body segment. The body segment includes an outer surface having at least one target aperture. The target aperture is connected to a chamber within the body segment. One or more planar target elements are located in the chamber and subject to a compressive force on major surfaces thereof. The planar target elements comprise a plurality of side edges forming a target face accessible through the target aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2002Publication date: June 10, 2004Inventor: Larry R. Publication number: 20040104533Abstract: A backstop for decelerating and trapping projectiles generally includes a support structure having an inclined surface and a projectile trapping medium disposed on the inclined surface. The projectile trapping medium may be either a resilient granular ballistic medium or a combination of a ballistic medium with a hydrated super absorbent polymer (SAP) gel. Preferably, the support structure is made of a shock absorbing, foamed, fiber-reinforced concrete, such as SACON®. In embodiments, the support structure also includes an enclosure. Additives may also be mixed into the projectile trapping medium to control alkalinity and prevent leaching of heavy metals.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2002Publication date: June 3, 2004Inventors: Steven L. Patent number: 6726209Abstract: The present invention relates to a dart board assembly which makes a front dart board positioned on a rear board rotate smoothly while preventing separation due to the vibration from rotation of the front dart board. The front dart board includes a flat panel; a central shaft rearwardly protruding at the center of the flat panel, an inner stepped portion stepped at the inner diameter of the central shaft to a predetermined depth, and an engaging recess formed at the center of the central shaft for engaging a screw spike. A connection shaft is formed with a plurality of stepped portions including a proximal stepped portion inserted into the inner stepped portion of the central shaft, an intermediate portion supported by the inner diameter portion of the rear board, a distal stepped portion stepped and coupled to the inner diameter portion of a ball bearing, and a through hole formed at the center so that the screw spike can be passed through.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2002Date of Patent: April 27, 2004Inventor: Yong Cheol Kim

Publication number: 20040036221Abstract: A shooting target which will give indication of whether the shooting target has been hit and where the shooting target has been hit has a plurality of non-conductive layers. A plurality of conductive layers are provided wherein a single conductive layer is coupled between non-conductive layers. A communication module is coupled to the plurality of conductive layers for monitoring when a metallic object forms a connection between at least two of the plurality of conductive layers for indicting when and where the shooting target has been hit by the metallic object.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2002Publication date: February 26, 2004Inventor: Dan L. Publication number: 20040007819Abstract: An object comprising a sleeve having an opening and compressible material within the sleeve. The compressible material being formed by first compressing the material in a first direction, then compressing the material in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and then compressing the material in a third direction perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction. The material is placed into the sleeve through the opening along the third direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2003Publication date: January 15, 2004Inventor: Doug Twichell

Publication number: 20030227137Abstract: A toss-game structure for poolside use includes a target supported at a height from a base and having front and rear portions defining an interior space. The target front portion includes at least one opening for receipt of a tossed object in the interior space. The target portions each have surfaces defining a portion of a substantially prolate sphere for collectively simulating a football shape. A support post includes opposite ends engaging the base and the target rear portion such that a majority of the target is positioned forwardly of a front edge of the base. The structure further includes a backstop having upper and lower portions. The upper portion is curved about a vertical axis to define a concave surface in the form of a partial cylinder. The lower portion is curved about horizontal and vertical axes in the form of a partial bowl.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2002Publication date: December 11, 2003Inventors: Alan M.
