U-shaped Circular Band Radially Directed Either Inwardly Or Outwardly Throughout Its Circumference Patents (Class 277/481)
  • Patent number: 11333245
Abstract: An oil control ring according the present disclosure includes a pair of side rails, and a spacer expander disposed between the pair of side rails. The spacer expander includes a plurality of sets and each set includes a lug part and a rail facing part. For each set, the lug part is in contact with an inner circumferential surface of either of the pair of the side rails, and the rail facing part is provided adjacent to the lug part and faces a side surface of either of the pair of the side rails. The lug part satisfies a following condition (1): W/H?1.5??(1) In condition (1), W indicates a width of the lug part at a position 0.05 mm away from a highest position of the lug part in a direction towards the rail facing part, and H indicates a height difference between a highest position of a region on the rail facing part adjacent to the lug part and the highest position of the lug part.

  • Patent number: 8662047
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus has an internal combustion engine (9, 9?, 9?) and a starter device (8). The internal combustion engine has a piston (10, 10?) which has at least one piston ring (37, 38). In order to avoid a delay when starting the engine, at least one recess is provided in the cylinder bore (26) which bridges the at least one piston ring (37, 38) in at least one position of the piston (10, 10?) and which has a distance (n, o, p) to all function openings of the engine (9, 9?, 9?) configured in the cylinder bore (26). To reduce the compression in the combustion chamber (25), the piston (10?) has only one piston ring (37) or two piston rings (37, 38) are provided having respective piston ring gaps (39, 40) defining an angle (?) which is up to approximately 45°.

Abstract: In the case of a multi-part oil scraper ring (10) for internal combustion engines, having a U-shaped expanding-spring ring (1), which is provided with axial indentations (2), for forming radially outwardly aligned resilient limbs (3, 4) which are connected to one another by means of radially inwardly situated webs (5), and having at least two annular lamellae (7, 8) which are provided with in each case parallel flanks (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) and are stacked via their flanks as stacking planes (SE) to a height (hL) and are arranged between the resilient limbs of the expanding-spring ring in order to define a nominal height of the oil scraper ring, according to the invention, an at least three-part oil scraper ring of a minimum axial installation height and with an improved oil-scraping effect should be obtained in that at least in each case one of the flanks (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) of the lamellae has, in its radially inwardly situated wall region, a cut-out (11) which has a support face (12) for the engagement of the resil
