  • Patent number: 4786064
Abstract: An infant seat which converts from a car seat into a stroller. The infant seat comprises a chair connected to a wheel frame on which the wheel set is mounted. The wheel set consists of front and rear wheels connected by a linking means. When the wheel frame is in a stowed condition, it supports the chair in either a forward-facing or rearward-facing car seat configuration. The wheel set is stowed behind or below the chair while the car seat is secured to the automobile seat by the automobile safety belts threaded through the wheel frame. To convert the car seat into a stroller, the wheel frame rotates about its pinned connections to the chair to simultaneously deploy the linked front and rear wheels. The chair back reclines with respect to the chair bottom to convert the stroller into a carriage. Modifications of the wheel frame allow the infant seat to be converted into an infant rocker. Accessories such as a sun shade and footrest also extend from the chair.

  • Patent number: 4300783
Abstract: A transportable body has side plates mounted thereon which are movable between box and seat positions. In the box position, the side plates cooperate with the body to form a box for converting the vehicle to a load carrying vehicle. Also, in this box position, an elongated handle member has one end pivotably connected to the body and extends outwardly therefrom for pulling the vehicle. In the seat position, the side plates cooperate with the body to form a seat for converting the vehicle to a ride-on vehicle. In this seat position, the handle member is coupled to and extends substantially at right angles to the body.

  • Patent number: 4284286
Abstract: A handtruck having a collapsible supporting surface adaptable for converting the handtruck into a portable work table. The handtruck is provided with a toe blade extender pivotal between folded and operative positions adjacent to the standard toe blade of the handtruck. The toe blade extender has dual functions. First, in its operative position parallel to and in abutment with the toe blade, it enables the handtruck to handle bulky loads. Second, in an intermediate position between its folded and operative positions, it serves as a support for a planar supporting surface which is pivotally attached to the handtruck frame at the opposite end thereof from the toe blade extender and serves as a work table when pivoted away from the handtruck frame and supported by the toe blade extender.

  • Patent number: 4269096
Abstract: A portable workstand for power tools and the like which is convertible from a tool utilization condition to a portable condition wherein a wheel and a pair of handles extend therefrom for wheelbarrow-like portability. The handles are connected to the wheel in an arrangement such that pivotal movement of the handles from unextended and depending positions to their extended positions moves the wheel from a retracted position within a cavity in the stand to its extended position. A hand brake for the wheel is provided and provision is also made for releasably retaining the handles in their extended positions against inadvertent movement therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4266679
Abstract: The upper works of a boom machine such as a crane is supported for rotation about a vertical axis on a lower portion of modular construction. The lower portion comprises a hub-like member having four leg module holders which are equidistant from said axis and spaced around it at uniform intervals and to each of which a leg module is detachably securable. To outer ends of the leg modules can be secured pad modules or extension leg modules that have ground engaging pads at their outer ends; or laterally opposite pairs of leg modules can be detachably connected to crawler modules. The hub-like member also has a pair of body module holders at opposite sides thereof, each laterally intermediate a pair of leg module holders, to which wheeled transporter modules can be detachably secured. Alternatively, with crawler modules installed, a hydraulic power module for energizing them can be secured to one body module holder.

  • Patent number: 4258826
Abstract: Two frame sections are hingedly attached at their top and each frame section contains a pair of wheels at the bottom. One of the frame sections consists of a pair of laterally spaced parallel side rails having horizontal steps disposed therebetween. The other frame section contains a pair of parallel spaced channel bars on which ride a vertically movable platform. The platform can be hoisted along the channel bars by use of a hand crank and winch assembly. The two frame sections can be folded together for use as a conventional hand truck or the frame sections can be folded apart and the wheels locked for use as a stepladder.

  • Patent number: 4253546
Abstract: A hand truck comprises a frame having handles at its rear end, wheels attached at least to the front end of the frame on opposite sides of its bottom, and a load support provided on the upper side of the frame and mounted on the frame shiftably longitudinally of the frame. Loads can be transferred from the truck, for example, to the bed of a light van positioned at some distance above the ground or from the bed to the truck by raising or turning down the truck on the principle of the lever, with the load support attached to the frame at a position corresponding to the level of the bed. The truck can be connected in a slanting position to the bed by a connector attached to the rear end of the frame to take loads from the vehicle along the truck as by a chute. The frame is foldable into two. The truck is usable also as a stepladder when the frame is held in an inverted V-shaped half-unfolded position by a holder.

  • Patent number: 4240646
Abstract: Apparatus for use both as a platform for drum-set performances and as a carrier for such a set. The apparatus consists of a rectangular bottom section with two or more side members hinged thereto for raising to a vertical position or lowering to a horizontal position. Castors are attached to at least two of such side members so that when they are raised, the castors extend downward from the bottom section, and when lowered, the castors are retracted above the bottom section. With the side members raised, the drum-set can be placed upon the bottom section, and the entire unit rolled, or carried by provided handles. With the side members lowered, the drum-set can be placed upon the bottom section and side members, and the apparatus used as a performance platform.

  • Patent number: 4235449
Abstract: A hand truck having side frame rails which are hinged near the center to fold and act as ground engaging stabilizers for supporting the structure in a step stool configuration. Cross braces between the frame rails serve as steps and the bed of the truck becomes the top platform of the step stool. The truck has a retractable extension bed, which, in the step stool configuration, interlocks with the folded frame rail portion to form a rigid triangular braced structure. Normal use of the unit as a load carrying hand truck is not compromised by the step stool forming elements.
