  • Patent number: 4118046
Abstract: A removable, easy to use rocker assembly is provided which can be quickly installed on a standard wheelchair without modifications or damage to the same and which includes a pair of shiftable arcuate rockers movable between a retracted and rocking position without the necessity of having the occupant leave the wheelchair, or complicated, time-consuming adjustments of the assembly or chair itself. The overall rocker assembly includes a pair of separate, identical, rocker structures respectively and removably mounted adjacent the wheels of the chair and independently shiftable for selective positioning of the rockers in a chair-supporting, rocking position. The rocker structures each include a frame removably secured to the wheelchair, linkage pivotally coupled between the frame and rocker, and stabilizing means for preventing unintended movement of the rocker in use thereof relative to the chair so as to present an extremely stable rocking wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 4114914
Abstract: A foldable multi-purpose cart is provided in which two rectangular frames on which webbing is supported are hingedly connected together. The hinge means include means for locking the hinge means when the cart is fully opened with the frames being angularly displaced from each other by about 180.degree.. Two respective pairs of wheels are rotatably mounted at the corners of the respective frames remote from the hinged connection of the frames. One of the frames is sufficiently smaller than the other in the dimension normal to the hinging axis to permit the frames to be folded together, without mutual interference of the respective pairs of wheels, into superposed relationship by relative rotation of the frames toward each other.

  • Patent number: 4106590
Abstract: A combined hand truck and ladder having a frame with a pair of elongated side rails and longitudinally spaced interconnecting cross braces. An upper back frame member is pivotally connected at one end to the upper end of the frame and is pivotally movable from locked positions parallel to the frame to an extended 90.degree. angle positions. The pivotally connected end is spaced a short distance from the end of the frame so that when the frame is inverted, an angled support provides a freely supported ladder. The frame member also has lower wheels and an extended support foot to be used in the hand truck mode.

  • Patent number: 4105242
Abstract: A cart convertible between a chair position and a bed position includes a horizontal seat frame pivotally coupled to a leg rest frame, a back frame, and four depending legs. The forwardmost pair of the depending legs and the back frame are coupled by an adjustment means for simultaneously raising the forward pair of legs and lowering the back frame toward a horizontal position thereby facilitating rolling the cart onto a raised platform having limited vertical clearance such as onto the loading gate of a station wagon. The rearward most pair of the depending legs can also be raised toward a horizontal position thereby facilitating positioning of the entire cart on the raised platform.

  • Patent number: 4092032
Abstract: An assembly kit comprising primary, secondary and intermediate sub-frames of tubular material which are all telescopically connectable to each other for erecting demountable frame structures. Each primary sub-frame has two side members and two cross members connected to the side members at positions spaced from the ends of the side members by a fixed distance. Two pairs of legs, having a length equal to the fixed distance, project respectively from the junctions of the side members and the cross members to one side of the side members. Each secondary sub-frame has two "L"-shaped side members and two cross members connected, respectively to the junctions of the arms of the "L"-shaped side members and at positions spaced by said fixed distance from the free ends the long arms of the "L"-shaped side members. The "L"-shaped side members are of tubular material which is a sliding fit on the tubular material of each primary sub-frame and have short arms equal in length to the fixed distance.

  • Patent number: 4009762
Abstract: A convertible ladder-carrier vehicle assembly includes a pair of parallel tubing elements connected by at least four transverse tubing elements. A second pair of tubing elements are positioned slidably within the first pair. Both pairs of tubing elements have aligned apertures. At least one resilient member having a hook element at each end is secured between the first pair of tubing elements detachably within the aligned apertures of the first and second pairs to thereby maintain the second pair of tubing elements in fixed relation to the second pair. A wheel assembly is detachably connected to each side of the first pair of tubing elements, journalled in intermediate transverse tubing elements.

  • Patent number: 3997213
Abstract: Tubular assemblies are interpivotally connected so as to form a stable seat when the assemblies are pivoted into an expanded position but form a wheeled carryall when in the collapsed position. One assembly cooperates with the other assemblies to provide a seat back when in the expanded position and likewise provides a gripping handle for manual movement when the assemblies are in the collapsed position. A second of the assemblies has wheels attached thereto which are pivoted out of engagement with the surface when in the expanded position but pivoted so as to provide wheeled engagement with the surface when the assemblies are interpivotally collapsed. The third assembly cooperates with the wheeled assembly to provide the seating arrangement in the expanded configuration and the carryall portion when in the collapsed configuration.

  • Patent number: 3984115
Abstract: A baby carrier which can be converted into an infant's stroller comprising first and second tubular frame members which are bent to form a three-sided rectangular shaped opening in order to support a baby seat. The extending ends of the first and second tubular members are connected to articulated joints so that parallel spaced apart front and rear legs can be connected to the tubular members. At the ends of the legs are provided wheels so that when the legs are opened to their fully extended position, they form a stroller for the seat. One of the tubular members includes loops which are formed as handles at the rear portion of the seat. A shoulder strap is also provided as well as a back rest which spans between the ends of the tubular members adjacent to the articulated joints.

  • Patent number: 3944242
Abstract: A new supporting structure for a mobile home comprising pre-stressed concrete and a method for making same. The supporting structure comprises a rectangular floor, supported by beams on the lower surface of the floor. A pair of large longitudinal beams are formed on the lower surface of the floor adjacent the longitudinal edge of the floor. A plurality of smaller transverse beams are formed on the lower surface of the floor connecting the longitudinal beams. Both the longitudinal and transverse beams are pre-stressed. Means for attaching wheels and a towing hitch are provided. The supporting structure is cast in a single piece in a bed provided with channels for the longitudinal and transverse beams. The beams are pre-stressed in a conventional manner either by pre-tensioning or post-tensioning tendons. After the concrete has set and the tendons anchored, the supporting structure is lifted out, and wheels and a towing hitch attached.
