The base ply and the at least one top ply are adhesively coupled, in a first portion of the label, to each other such that the top surface of the base ply and the back surface of the at least one top ply are in contiguous juxtaposition with each other along the first lengthwise dimension and the second lengthwise dimension, respectively, and along the first widthwise dimension and the second widthwise dimension, respectively.

Abstract: A business form according to the present invention including a ply of label stock, a ply of release liner stock, and a ply of message or record bearing stock, may be configured as either a continuous or cut sheet form. The ply of label stock has one side coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The ply of release liner stock has a release side that engages with the adhesive on the one side of the label stock. The release liner ply and the label stock ply have edges that are laterally offset from one another so that a narrow longitudinal strip of adhesive is unengaged with the release liner. The ply of message bearing stock is adhered at one edge to the label stock at the narrow longitudinal strip of adhesive. A plurality of cuts is defined by, and extends through, the release liner from the back of the business form, whereby the structural integrity of the business form is enhanced.

The information on the label and detachable portions is easily edited by an operator at a control panel of the weighing scale. A conversational display is provided which allows easy editing and also allows specials, recipes, etc., to be displayed. A molded cover is provided to prevent moisture from entering the weighing scale without interfering with the operation of the weighing scale.

A printed portion is made by printing on the portions other than the film 20 of the support 10 in substantially the same color as that shown when the film 20 is viewed from the front. The discrimination medium A appears to be red at the support 10 and the film 20 when viewed from the front (although the film has a metallic luster), but at a larger viewing angle, the film 20 changes to blue by the blue-shift of the polymer cholesteric liquid crystal so as to exhibit a color different from that of the support 10.

The method includes providing a sized portion of the label that includes a waterproof soft flex vinyl facestock material containing a non-mobile plasticizer agent. The printing is also resistant to the moisture and ice that form on the container when it is removed from the liquid nitrogen. At room temperature, the label must be capable of being stretched without breaking at least 10% in both the MD and TD. Labels are sized, cut, the release liner is removed, and the label with its adhesive surface is applied to the container.

Abstract: An information-bearing laminar assembly, suitable for use as an identification card, is disclosed. The assembly is characterized by the provision therein of an embedded halftone image security feature that becomes visible essentially only when the assembly is view in transmitted light. The information-bearing laminar assembly comprises an inner information-bearing layer interposed between a first and a second light-transmissive protective outer layer. The inner layer contains both visible information-bearing indicia and an imagewise halftone pattern of laser-ablated microholes. The light-transmissivity of the information-bearing inner layer within said half-tone pattern is imagewise differentiated at each microhole as a function of the microhole's penetration depth. Sandwiched between the protective outer layers, the halftone pattern is imperceptible when the information-bearing laminar assembly is viewed in reflections and perceptible when the information-bearing laminar assembly is viewed in transmission.

A polyfilm patch is adhered over the card area and over the card information printed thereon. A thin flexible patch of magnet material is adhesively secured on a rear face of the paper sheet and extends over the card area. A die-cut is made in the sheet and delineates the contour of the card area and extends through the polyfilm patch, the paper sheet and partly into the patch of magnet material to form a burstable region along said die-cut to hold the card in the carrier sheet. The die-cut can have any ornamental shape.

Abstract: An integrated gift card packet is machine printed and formed and comprises a paper form having at least two panels interconnected together. The panels are retained in facial contact by detachable tabs or glue tabs. Each of the panels has an inner and an outer surface. Printed information is provided on some or all of the surfaces. Card information is printed in a card area on the inner and outer surfaces of one of the panels. The card information contains a bar code identifying goods/services and a dollar value associated therewith. The bar code may have a card I.D. code. A poly patch is adhesively secured on the inner surface of one of the panels and extends over the card area. A rear multi-layer patch is adhesively secured on the outer surface of one of the panels and also extends over the card area. The multi-layer patch has an adhesive coating on the outer surface to secure a poly film thereto.

Abstract: An index tab labeling system for use with suspended file folder of the type having vertical slots along an upper margin, the labeling system comprising a flexible index tab having a single layer of flexible material with lugs for insertion into the vertical slots in the file folder. A pad of labels is affixed to the index tab by a releasable adhesive. The pad of labels has multiple labels which are held to each other by releasable adhesive. The user may write index information on the uppermost label and when the index information requires changing, the uppermost label may be peeled off and the next label is made available for index information to be entered thereon. A pad of three labels is considered to be optimum. When all the labels in one pad are used, a new pad of labels may be releasably adhered to the index tab. In an alternative embodiment, each of the labels may be supplied with a portion that does not have a releasable adhesive applied to it.

Abstract: Labels having a permanent section and at least one removable coupon section are made from polymeric sheets or rolls suitable for printing and forming, at high rates of production, blown or injection in-mold labeled plastic containers are based on a polymeric white opaque, transparent, translucent or contact clear substrate monoaxially oriented and having a thickness in the range of 0.002 to 0.008 inches. The polymer film is reverse pattern-printed with an abhesive coextensive with the detachable portion then overcoated on the container-facing side with a continuous coating of heat activatable adhesive. Such sheet or roll can be printed and then cut into individual labels for affixing to the container as part of a in-molding process. Recyclable containers are provided at high speed without missing labels or doubled labels due to feeding problems.

The die cut base paper layer, adhesive layer and breakaway layer comprise an information card wherein the breakaway layer has a greater affinity for the adhesive layer than the top surface of the primary film layer such that when the information card is removed from the form, the breakaway layer stays adhered to the bottom surface of the base paper layer.

The manufacturing/vending system comprises a centralized ticket manufacturing controller located at a centralized location and one or more vending devices located at remote sites. Each vending device is operatively coupled for communication with the centralized ticket manufacturing controller, normally via a network connection. Each vending devices is further equipped with a printer and ticket media, so that a customer is able to purchase on-demand tickets from vending device in communication with the centralized ticket manufacturing controller. Additionally, the vending devices may be configured as electronic aid to display the results of the purchased lottery tickets in entertaining ways to the customer.

Abstract: The invention relates to an inscribable security film, in particular for use in the automotive sector, and to a method for inscribing it. The security film contains an identification medium which is capable of diffusion and is locally liberated or fixed selectively by means of a contactless inscription process. If the security film is adhesively bonded to a substrate, the identification medium causes permanent marking of the substrate, which ensures unambiguous identification of the object in question.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a medication management system that is simple, reliable and extremely easy to use. It comprises a label having a plurality of raised tabs that are depressed upon taking a medication to provide a tactile and a visual record of medication use. It can be secured to the medication container, and thus is not subject to being misplaced or forgotten. The system can be integrated with a pharmacy's computerized pharmaceutical record and prescription label printing system or it can be a stand-alone paste-on label. Alternatively, it can be used in combination with blister packs to dispense medication while maintaining a record of use. The label can be in the form of an overlay, which is placed over a preprinted container or a container having a prescription label. The use of a pressure sensitive releasable adhesive permits the removal of the overlay label in the event that is it necessary to read information on the underlying label.

Label sheets are formed by cutting the web of stock material transversely. Individual labels are formed on the label sheets by kiss-cutting the face stock layer. A method of manufacturing partially-secured labels includes the steps of delaminating a stock material, deactivating strips of an adhesive layer, and relaminating the stock material. The method also includes the steps of cutting the stock material into individual label sheets and kiss-cutting the label sheets to form individual, partially-secured labels.

The patch layer may be secured over the entire die cut and form layer portion to form an integrated label intermediate, or half of the patch layer may be secured over the die cut and form layer portion to form a fold-over card intermediate. In both embodiments the adhesive layer remains on the bottom surface of the patch when the label or card intermediate is removed from the form. By avoiding the use of any release materials, liners, layers and coatings, the remaining form layer is completely recyclable.

The customs declaration forms and dispatch notice of the mailing form may be variably printed with information to aid in the non-domestic delivery of the mailpiece.

Abstract: A clear polymeric label including a delaminatable mask layer is provided. The label includes a non-cavitated mask layer having a first side that is suitable for forming a cohesive bond with an adhesive, preferably a water-based adhesive. The cohesive bond between the first side of the mask layer and the adhesive is grater than the cohesive bond between the second side of the mask layer and its adjacent layer, whereby attempted removal of the label results in separation of the mask layer, which remains attached to the container, and masks the adhesive.

The form includes a face ply which has a pattern of adhesive applied to at least a portion of the inner face, and a release liner which includes a pattern of adhesive which exposes a portion of the release liner to direct adhesive contact to the face ply without intervening release coating to permanently adhere a part of the release liner to the face ply. The release liner has a surrounding protective border provided with release coating on the release face thereof and which is removed prior to application to the substrate, and a slip which remains with the form as applied to the substrate. The face ply includes lines of perforation defining a central portion.
