The second facesheet has a central adhesive label opposite the pocket, and a surrounding border liner opposite the rim. The label is removable from the pocket for separate use therefrom, and the pocket is separately usable by removing the liner therefrom.

Abstract: A card with removable stickers includes a sticker assembly including a first layer of small stickers on which are printed different pictures and are cut to facilitate their removal, a second layer of backing paper having a back side which is colored with an opaque, reflective, copper-colored material, a third layer of adhesive, a fourth layer of double-sided release paper, a fifth layer of removable film made of transparent resin, and a sixth layer of adhesive, and a card adhered to the six layer of adhesive, whereby when in use, the backing paper is first removed, and then the double-sided release paper is removed from the transparent removable film leaving the transparent removable film on the card, thereby enabling illustration of the card to be completely seen and the stickers be adhered on the removable film, and writing can also be done on the film.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tubular label with pre-printed fixed information adapted to be wrapped around a container body of a container with an inwardly facing surface of the tubular label contacting the container body and the pre-printed fixed information being visible from the outside of the container. The tubular label includes printed arbitrary information such as lottery indicia provided on the inwardly facing surface by a non-impact printer in such a manner as to be invisible through the outwardly facing surface of the tubular label. An elongated tubular member and method of manufacturing the same, as well as a labeled container are also provided.

Abstract: A double blind study label for use in, e.g., a drug study. A first portion of the label, identifying the test drug, is coupled to a vial containing either the test drug or a placebo. The second portion of the label identifies the actual contents of the vial, along with instructions in case of an adverse reaction, but all of which is concealed by an scratch-off, opaque layer. The second portion is severed from the first portion and held by the testing agency. Thus, every participant believes he/she is taking the drug under test. Should the participant suffer and adverse reaction, the testing agency can be contacted whereby the opaque layer is scratched off the emergency instructions relayed to the participant.

Abstract: Transparent sheets of acetate carrying a band of adhesive on the reverse side adjacent to one edge can be used for making notes on text and illustrations. Preferably provided in a tablet of plural, stacked sheets and most preferably provided in a kit form with erasable markers adapted for marking on acetate, the sheets may be applied to a whole page of text or to a drawing. The markings can interact with the text and drawings because the underlaying surface is visible through the sheets. Thus, the user may make annotations exactly where and how desired.

Abstract: Label sheets are formed from a continuous web of laminated stock material comprising a face stock layer and a liner layer secured together by an adhesive layer. The stock material is delaminated and an adhesive deactivating material is applied to the adhesive layer in longitudinal strips to create active and inactive adhesive portions. Label sheets are formed by cutting the web of stock material transversely. Individual labels are formed on the label sheets by kiss-cutting the face stock layer. Each individual label includes an attachment end with active adhesive and a free/unattached end with inactive adhesive. A method of manufacturing partially-secured labels includes the steps of delaminating a stock material, deactivating strips of an adhesive layer, and relaminating the stock material. The method also includes the steps of cutting the stock material into individual label sheets and kiss-cutting the label sheets to form individual, partially-secured labels.

A top panel overlies the upper surface of the base label and is joined to the base label adjacent the first end. The top panel has an upper surface. A tab having upper and lower opposed surfaces overlies the upper surface of the base label. An adhesive patch is interposed between the base label and the tab adjacent the second end. The adhesive patch secures the lower surface of the tab to the upper surface of the base label. A laminate cover overlies the top panel and the tab. A laminate adhesive secures the laminate cover to the upper surface of the top panel and releasably joins the laminate cover to the upper surface of the tab.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a label/form combination assembly which will be able to withstand the harsh environment present in a laser printer in both simplex and duplex imaging modes. The label/form combination document is constructed of two separate materials joined together at a coplanar joint. A variable image receptive, pressure sensitive stock being comprised of a coplanar combination of facestock, pressure sensitive adhesive and release liner overlapping a laser bond paper is used in the label/form combination. A joint is formed when a portion of the liner of the pressure sensitive stock is removed, exposing its pressure sensitive adhesive. The exposed pressure sensitive adhesive is adhered to a strip of the laser quality bond sheet to create a bond between the label and the bond sheet. A remaining portion of the liner is adhered to the laser bond sheet with a cold bond adhesive that results in a double bond. The finished construction is die cut to form at least one rounded corner.

Abstract: An envelope sheet assembly for securing into a brochure or binder includes multiple sheets overlying one another so that the assembly is of uniform thickness to facilitate printing thereon. The envelope sheet assembly is preferably 8½ inches by 11 inches in size, and the envelope is preferably 11 inches by 4½ inches. Permanent pressure sensitive adhesive is employed to hold the sheets together and to form the envelope. The adhesive is also applied to the sealing flap, with a removable strip coated with a suitable release agent (i.e. silicone) protecting the adhesive coated flap. Perforations permit easy removal of the envelope from the assembly. The perforations can have a cut and tie pattern wherein the ties attach the envelope to the sheet assembly. The sheet assembly frames the envelope at all outside edges of the envelope or some of the outer edges of the sheet assembly can form outer edges of the envelope.

Abstract: Storage time of a perishable item in a perishable item storage system is tracked using a set of reusable labels with distinguishing features that associate each label with a distinct time unit. The distinguishing features are used to group labels, each group being associated with one of the time units. The labels permit a user to readily determine by visual inspection a time when a labeled item was added to the perishable item storage system. The time units may be days of the week.

Abstract: A carrier sheet comprising a printed paper sheet having an integrated detachable card with a magnetic backing and method of manufacturing same is described. The carrier sheet is comprised of a printed paper sheet having printed matter on at least a front face thereof. The printed matter contains card information printed in a card area. A polyfilm patch is adhered over the card area and over the card information printed thereon. A thin flexible patch of magnet material is adhesively secured on a rear face of the paper sheet and extends over the card area. A die-cut is made in the sheet and delineates the contour of the card area and extends through the polyfilm patch, the paper sheet and partly into the patch of magnet material to form a burstable region along said die-cut to hold the card in the carrier sheet. The die-cut can have any ornamental shape.

Abstract: A data package assembly comprises a substrate which includes a panel portion and a data card portion detachable from each other. The data card portion has an exposed face and a concealed face on opposite sides of the substrate, with personal identifying indicia on the concealed face correlated with a prepaid account. The data card portion is folded into an overlapping relationship with the panel portion so that the panel portion faces the concealed face of the data card portion and thereby conceals the personal identifying indicia without requiring folding of the panel portion. The data card portion is detachably retained in overlapping relationship with the panel portion, at least a major portion of the exposed face of the data card portion being visibly exposed.

A novel method is also taught for first separating the strip label from the form, inverting it, and reapplying it to the laminating strip to thus form a matrix within the form with adhesive securing the strip label to the laminating strip. The matrix may then be separated by separating the laminating strip along its defining separation line yielding a self-laminated strip label for application to a marker tab of a file folder or the like.

Abstract: A latent fingerprint lifting and recordation device of the type which provides a permanent and official fingerprint document. The device includes a flexible transparent latent fingerprint lifting sheet having one adhesive surface and a flat opaque somewhat thicker, less flexible sheet defining a perimeter frame and a removable central area which defines a protective cover, the perimeter frame being substantially similar in size and shape to that of, and adhered in generally coextensive fashion on one surface thereof against the adhesive side of the fingerprint lifting sheet. When the transparent fingerprint lifting sheet, with the perimeter frame adhesively attached thereto, is separated from the protective cover, an imaged latent fingerprint may be lifted and recorded on the adhesive surface. The latent fingerprint thereafter is protectively sandwiched for viewing through the transparent sheet when the protective cover is adhesively reattached to the adhesive surface to form a permanent fingerprint document.

In a preferred embodiment, the tool comprises an ordered, linear sequence of pieces of coated abrasive connected by fully pliable hinges. The hinges allow virtually 360° rotation of the planes of adjacent pieces about each other, and permit the tool to accordion-fold together tightly, so that the tool becomes very compact for storage, transit and special uses. The grit sizes progressively increase from one abrasive piece to the next, thereby facilitating a choice of grit sizes within a single tool. On the non-grit surface of each piece is a distinctive labeling addition that includes indicia characterizing the grit size and abrasive nature of its corresponding grit surface. The distinctive labeling addition includes mechanical reinforcement, such as plastic, thin metal or cardboard. Each piece may abrade a work piece individually and without necessarily using any tool other than hand or fingers.

Abstract: A resealable label flap for use with a product package including a tamper indicating tab that remains in contact with the package body to indicate that the label flap has been removed from the package body. The tamper indicating tab includes a first ink layer that defines an indicia or pattern on the top surface of the tamper indicating tab. A second ink layer is applied over the entire top surface of the tamper indicating tab, including over the first ink layer. The second ink layer does not bond to the first ink layer. When the label flap is initially pulled from the product package, the tamper indicating tab separates from the remaining portions of the label flap. As the tamper indicating tab separates from the label flap, the first ink layer and the second ink layer separate from each other such that the portions of the second ink layer applied over the first ink layer remain in contact with the top layer of the label flap.

Abstract: A mailer type business form intermediate, and method of producing a mailer from the intermediate, effect folding in a novel manner in order to produce a business form that is particularly advantageous for providing a negotiable instrument, such as a bank check or money order. The intermediate has conventional components, but with first, second and third fold lines defining a sheet of paper comprising the intermediate into first through fourth panels. The fourth panel has indicia defining the negotiable instrument and at least one line of weakness separating the negotiable instrument from the rest of the fourth panel. Tacking adhesive patterns may be disposed substantially parallel to the top and bottom edges of the intermediate to hold the first panel second face to the second panel second face adjacent the top edge and second fold line, and to hold the fourth panel second face to the second panel first face adjacent the first and third fold lines, when the intermediate is folded about the fold lines.

Abstract: A form with a well has a form layer with a top and a bottom surface and a perimeter, a die cut through the form layer that defines a portion of said form layer within said die cut, a patch layer having a perimeter and top and bottom surfaces, and an adhesive layer that is repositionable and peelable. The patch layer is adhesively but removably secured to the bottom surface of the form layer such that the die cut and form layer portion are entirely within the perimeter of the patch layer. The form has a well, that is created by removal of the form layer portion from within the die cut. The bottom of the well is the top surface of said adhesive layer and the sides of the well are the edges of said die cut. The adhesive layer has a greater affinity for the patch layer than the form layer portion such that when the form layer portion is removed from the form, the adhesive stays adhered to the patch layer. Articles such as photographs may then be inserted into the well.

Abstract: An adhesive preventing system containing a flexible tape member that may be in the form of either a sticker or an elongated tape is disclosed. This flexible tape member has an upper and a lower side and has two patterns printed on the upper side of the flexible tape member, one of which is printed with a material that is capable of bleeding through the flexible tape member and being dispersed into the underlying materials. A pattern which does not absorb the bleed-through material is printed on the underside of the flexible tape member. The underside of the flexible tape member also has disposed on it a frangible layer of material that does not adhere to the pattern printed on the underside of the flexible tape member. An adhesive layer is disposed over the frangible layer.

A discrete patch of leaflet adhesive is applied to the upper surface of the release liner. The leaflet adhesive patch has an end edge. Abstract: A mailer intermediate is formed from a sheet having at least one transverse fold line dividing the sheet into a first panel and a second panel such that the first panel longitudinal dimensions are equal to, or exceed the second panel longitudinal dimensions. The second panel is folded over onto the first panel. A temporary tacking agent is applied to the face of the sheet to temporarily tack down the folded over, transverse edge of the lower panel. The mailer intermediate may be processed in this pre-folded condition according to the user's variable imaging needs because there are no loose edges to catch in printer output stacking trays, or jam in internal components of printers. The longitudinal edges of the return envelope panel may be permanently sealed prior to printing, or may be sealed later during processing through folder/sealer equipment.

For this purpose, a label portraying a company logo is applied to an article which is to be marked. The label has openings such that the UV paint reproduces the logo on the surface of the article in an unobservable manner when the outer and inner edges of the label are painted over with the UV paint. The logo remains as a non-marked surface portion in the invisible UV film after the label is removed. The invention is suited for protectively marking equipment against theft.

The device includes a plurality of spindle structures for supplying a continuous strip of protective film and the continuous strip of liner to a laminating structure which adheres the continuous strip of protective film to the continuous strip of liner over the labels disposed thereon to form a single continuous strip of laminated liner. The laminating structure has a drive wheel with a plurality of teeth arranged upon the surface of the drive wheel so as to engage a plurality of tractor feed holes formed into the continuous strip of the laminated liner. Abstract: A tuck label for placing on a shipping package. The tuck label includes a substrate portion and a single sheet label portion with adhesive included on a surface. The label portion further includes one or more fold lines that define upper and lower adjacent print panels, both of which can receive printable indicia. A score line is placed in the label portion to define a mount region, a printable surface region and a pull tab region. The pull tab region is disposed between the mount region and the printable surface region, and includes a pull tab with at least one layer of adhesive so that, upon folding of the label portion along the one or more fold lines, the pull tab becomes multi-layered for increased strength and durability.

Abstract: A method and means for consistently applying and aligning labels is provided. A label form includes a label section having at least one tactile alignment guidance feature and a backing member removably attached to the label section. In one embodiment, the backing member having a first side and a second side, each removable from the label section independently and when the first side is removed from the label section, the alignment guidance feature on the label section is exposed so that the alignment guidance feature can be aligned with a corresponding alignment guidance feature on a stock member, such as a folder.

Abstract: A hang tab that is used to suspend an article and display a removable coupon is provided in the form of a uniformly thin flat sheet of synthetic resin material having a coupon section integrally formed with the flat sheet with tearable perforated portions and cut portions around the perimeter of the coupon portion. The coupon portion is easily removable from the hang tab. A separate bonding section having an adhesive layer is provided adjacent the coupon portion and a hole for hanging is provided remote from the bonding section. The adhesive layer adheres to the product to be suspended using the hole. A consumer may remove the coupon from the coupon portion after purchase of the product.
