Abstract: A clamping arrangement for clamping connecting flanges of two machine housings which includes a number of tightening claws or clamping shoes distributed about a circumference of the connecting flanges for clamping the connecting flanges together. Tightening surfaces are provided on the tightening claws or clamping shoes and the connecting flanges for drawing the connecting flanges together. At least one radially extending bolt is provided for each of the tightening claws or clamping shoes with the bolt passing through an associated tightening claw or clamping shoe.

Abstract: A quick disconnect coupler in which a plurality of jaw clamping units are supported around the periphery of a pipe section for clamping the flange of a second pipe section in engagement with the first pipe section. Each hydraulic unit includes a support member secured to the outer periphery of the pipe and a frame member slidably supported on the support member for sliding movement parallel to the axis of the pipe. An overcenter toggle linkage connects a jaw member to the frame member. A rotatable cam pivotally secured to the frame member engages a stop on the support member. One end of a hydraulic actuator is connected to the cam for rotating the cam while the other end is connected to the toggle linkage for moving the jaw. The actuator causes the toggle linkage to move the jaw into clamping engagement with the flange of the second pipe, while the other end of the hydraulic actuator rotates the cam whem the toggle linkage reaches the overcenter locked position.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for permanently and sealably connecting two duct sections, the duct sections having peripheral flanges forming opposite and corresponding halves of a composite, T-shaped peripheral flange extending outwardly from the duct sections. The composite flange has an upper cross-piece portion and a lower upright portion, the lower upright portion of the T-shaped flange containing a continuous reservoir of deformable gasket material.
Abstract: The coupling disclosed is for attachment to a loading arm and permits attachment of the loading arm to flanges of different diameters by providing adapters which are releasably secured to the coupler. A different size adapter is utilized for each different size flange that the coupler is to be fastened to. The clamp arms move radially outward from the flowway through the coupler to accommodate larger size adapters which fit with larger size flanges to which the coupling is to be attached.
Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for securing together mating faces of hydraulic manifold blocks so as to securely seal aligned ports on the mating faces, the arrangement consisting of a slot having a sloping sidewall formed in each side of the manifold blocks adjacent to the mating surfaces, and includes respective clamping elements having contours adapted to engage the sloping sidewalls of slot pairs brought into juxtaposition when manifold block pairs are placed in position with the mating faces abutting each other. The clamping elements are drawn into the slots by means of threaded fasteners passing through the clamping element and mating position with respect to each other received in threaded bores in the respective manifold blocks, the interaction between the sloping slot and clamping element contours being such that the mating manifold faces are drawn tightly together.
Abstract: A coupling for sealingly joining together two sections of gas-containing pipe. The coupling comprises an annular housing having two end sections with an inside diameter substantially the same as the pipe outside diameter, and an intermediate section with an inside diameter greater than the pipe outside diameter and forming an annular space therebetween. The two end sections are capable of being welded to the pipe, and into the annular intermediate space is inserted an annular elongated C-shaped sleeve. Also included are pressurization means for compressing the sleeve against the pipe sections to seal the joint therebetween.
Abstract: A slip joint interconnects the exhaust gas duct of a gas turbine engine to the hot gas inlet duct of an associated heat exchanger by a flange clamping arrangement. The joint allows translational motion of the heat exchanger in the fore and aft axis relative the engine resulting from thermal expansion in the heat exchanger. In addition, a limited amount of misalignment between the engine exhaust gas duct and the heat exchanger hot gas inlet duct is permitted. The easily assembled simple flange clamping arrangement allows a low clamping pressure and thus a low resistance to slip between the two elements.
Abstract: Pipe ends are connected by a pipe joint comprising radially extending flanges, a sealing ring and clamping means connected to one of the flanges by holding means extending substantially radially inwardly toward the axes of the pipe joint. This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 587,617, filed June 17, 1975 and now abandoned.
Abstract: A U-lock has a pair of hinged channel-like arms with flared free ends and a U-shaped spring strap handle connected to the arms and adapted to push them onto and hold them in clamping positions on flanges of irrigation pipe sections.
Abstract: A quick coupling device for maintaining in axial flow-through alignment a first flow-through member with a second flow-through member, the first member having clamping means attached thereto coacting with a flange means of the second member to provide a sealing relationship between the first and second members.
Abstract: Valve casings at the ends of two cryogenic conduits are held together by brackets which can be locked but are driven apart for fast separation. Valves in the casings close automatically when the conduits separate.
Abstract: A flange connector adapted to connect flanges of pipes for use in the transportation of various substances, such as liquids, powdered substances, and other fluids is provided. The flange connectors according to the present invention comprises a pair of first U-shaped holding members having resilient pipe alignment means and a second U-shaped holding member, such first and second members being arranged to be circumferentially spaced from each other by an angle of 120.degree.. These three members are affixed to annular gasket interposed between the stationary and movable flanges of the pipes to be connected. By virtue of this construction the movable flange is brought into transverse or radial alignment with the fixed stationary flange.
Abstract: A metal reusable barrel for storing and shipping fluids. The barrel is capable of being disassembled after initial use to minimize the space required for transporting the barrel back to the original shipper and also minimize the expense of reconditioning the barrel for reuse. The barrel comprises two barrel halves, each in the shape of a frustum with the larger end open and the smaller end sealingly closed by a circular plate. The open ends of the two barrel halves are sealingly clamped together to form a fully assembled, leak-proof barrel. When the barrel is empty it may be disassembled by detaching the two barrel halves from one another and nesting one inside the other for shipment back to the producer. In their disassembled condition the barrel halves can be easily cleaned and reconditioned because of the accessibility of their interior surfaces, after which they may be reassembled and reused.
Abstract: An annular member to be fitted around a small-diameter pipe has drawing means and pressing members. The drawing means connect the annular member to a large-diameter pipe, and the pressing members to the small-diameter pipe to thereby connect the small-diameter pipe and the large-diameter pipe together.
