Abstract: A structure and a method for coupling a protective net to a flexible tube, comprising shaping the flexible tube, wrapping the flexible tube with the meshed protective net made of stainless steel, and welding both ends of the flexible tube to both ends of the protective net. A solution heating process for the flexible tube and welding process for the flexible tube and the protective net are simultaneously carried out under the same condition in the same furnace. As a result, the protective net and the flexible tube are uniform in terms of physical properties. Furthermore, intergranular corrosion of stainless steel by inevitable stress generated upon welding a flexible tube and a protective net using any one of conventional methods, and crevice corrosion between a welding ring and a flexible tube, are prevented.

  • Patent number: 6481762
Abstract: A pipe coupling for attachment to a pipe includes a sleeve. One end of the sleeve is configured to receive a pipe end. The pipe coupling also includes an annular gasket disposed within the end of the sleeve for encircling the pipe end. The coupling includes a flanged assembly for compressing the annular gasket to form a seal between the pipe and the sleeve. The sleeve and the gasket are configured so as to define a leak path between an axially inner portion of the gasket and the inner surface of the sleeve, whereby pressurized fluid from the pipe may pass along the leak path so as to pressurize a radially outer surface of the gasket and urge the gasket against the compression flange to enhance the seal between the gasket and the sleeve.

Abstract: A self-flaring fitting assembly for semi-flexible, convoluted tubes or pipes is provided. The inventive fitting assembly, which basically comprises an adaptor, a nut, and a split bushing assembly, eliminates the need for sealing gaskets, is reusable, and further facilitates the ease and speed of installation of semi-flexible piping systems. When used with jacketed tubing, the present inventive fitting assembly is capable of both preventing the undesirable movement of the jacket during installation and assembly and of reducing or eliminating exposure of the tubing located within the fitting assembly to contaminants or corrosive materials found in the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 6164704
Abstract: The invention relates to a hose fitting, more specifically, for a brake arrangement in a motor vehicle, for connecting, in a compression-proof manner, a multi-layer hose to a metallic end piece. At least part of one free end of the end piece engages with the inside of the hose and features at least one bulge, with a metallic pressed sleeve encompassing the hose, overlapping the bulge and also featuring, lateral to the bulge, respective first pressed sections. The crux of the invention is based on the fact that elastic and electrically nonconducting surface layers are arranged on the hose and end piece, upon which are arranged, in each case, a second pressed section in a liquid-tight manner. The invention is associated with the advantage that a hose fitting is sealed with respect to electrolyte penetration from the outside, and that, moreover, local cell formation, with resultant corrosion of the hose fitting, is prevented.

Abstract: A reliable sleeve unit with a water-absorbing swelling rubber that provides a reliable seal to a branch hole and the branch stop while controlling the development of rust. The rubber layer is applied on a cylindrical metal sleeve having a flange on its outer circumference in a manner such that a certain height length of the metal sleeve from its bottom end face is left uncovered. The height length of the flange is set to be long enough for the flange to be inserted into the inner circumference of the branch pipe to be connected to the branch hole. The rubber layer is applied onto the metal sleeve in a manner such that the height length of the rubber layer coating the metal sleeve is approximately equal to the wall height of the branch hole, or in a manner such that the bottom edge of the rubber layer is set to be higher than the bottom end face of the metal sleeve.

Abstract: A frame construction includes at least one nodal connection element and several tube-shaped frame elements connected thereto. The frame elements and the nodal connection elements are manufactured by hydraulic internal high pressure forming and are joined via plug-type connections. Each nodal connection element has at least two connections for adjoining frame elements. The nodal connection element consists of at least two internal-high-pressure-formed tube-shaped hollow bodies in a nested configuration. The hollow bodies are made of different materials, and have different cuts in the area of the connections--viewed in the longitudinal direction of the respective connection, allowing connection with frame elements made of corresponding different materials. In the area of each connection, one of the two hollow bodies, in addition to being connected in a plug-type connection with the adjoining frame elements made of the same material, is connected by an additional connection.
