  • Patent number: 4750259
Abstract: An armature group for mosaic printing head has a plurality of armatures wherein each armature which is part of an actuation electromagnet associated with one of a plurality of printing needles, is fixed to an elastic arm of a spring steel spider having as many arms as there are armatures. The spider, besides performing an armature positioning function allows the armature group to be handled as a unitary element which is easy to assemble. The thrust arm of each armature further has a double bend so that the plane between such arm and the corresponding needle head is perpendicular to the axis of the needle and passes through the fulcrum of the armature. This minimizes the buckling force which the needle has to undergo during the actuation phase. The construction of the armature group can be accomplished by a completely automated manufacturing process.

Abstract: The object of the invention relates to the technical sector of microelectronics. According to the process, one starts off with a hollow stainless steel tube (1) of determined diameter; the tube (1) is shrunk for a certain length (1a) and flattened, the remaining part is flattened to form two opposite flat non close joining faces (1b) and (1c); a slot (1b1) is machined in one of the flattened faces (1b) and a hole (1c1) in the other face (1c); a blade (2) provided with an axial notch (2a) on one of its edges is inserted between the two faces (1b) and (1c); through the hole (1c1) formed in one of the faces, a powder is inserted, designed to carry out microbrazing after heating; the assembly is placed in to a furnace to insure bracing of the blade (2) with the flattened parts and simultaneously filling by microbrazing remaining cavities between the blades and the flattened parts; the ends of the flattened gripping parts are rounded off; the flattened gripping areas are ground.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for forming laminates of plastics resin films and metallic foils. The plastics resin film is adhesively bonded to the metallic foil. The bonded laminate is then rolled under pressure to thin both the plastics resin film and metallic foil layers. In addition to reducing the thickness of the laminate, the rolling operation increases the length of the laminate and orients the plastics resin film in the machine direction.

  • Patent number: 4719688
Abstract: A method is provided for the installation of an insert in a plaque or the like. The insert is provided with a bore having a limited access such that a hook-like protrusion on a stand can be inserted into the bore whereafter the stand is rotated to bring the hook-like attachment into engagement with a socket-like arrangement included within the bore. The method involves use of successive drilling tool reciprocal movements for successively drilling a hole and then installing the insert in the hole. The method also involves orienting a series of inserts for installation by vibrating the same, culling out non-oriented inserts, and successively placing the oriented inserts on a matching projection on a slide which carries the inserts successively to installation position.

Abstract: Conventional joints between a fluid line and a body of a fluid injector are typically threaded or brazed. Such threaded joints are sometimes too bulky for certain engine compartments of limited space and such brazed joints are sometimes difficult to make with repeatable high quality. The present invention provides a relatively compact and inexpensive sealed joint for a fluid injector which includes a housing, a body, and a fluid line. The sealed joint is solely formed by an interference fit directly between an end portion of the fluid line and both the housing and an end portion of the body.

Abstract: A method of sealing off a vaporization chamber provided in a soleplate of a steam iron by means of a cover is described. The vaporization chamber has an outer wall which has an upper edge remote from the bottom surface of the soleplate and having an upwardly opening continuous recess or groove provided therein. The method comprises placing the cover over the vaporization chamber in contact with the upper edge of the outer wall and applying high pressure to the cover, the cover material being forced into the recess to sealingly connect the cover to the soleplate before the pressure is released. There is no need for any additional sealing materials between the chamber and the cover and no need to screw or rivet the cover onto the soleplate.
