I.c. (internal Combustion) Engine Making Patents (Class 29/888.01)
  • Patent number: 11686242
Abstract: A pre-combustion chamber system is presented. The pre-combustion chamber system includes a pre-combustion chamber housing defining a pre-combustion chamber, a cooling chamber housing surrounding the pre-combustion chamber housing, a cooling chamber defined between the pre-combustion chamber housing and the cooling chamber housing. The pre-combustion chamber system includes a flow agitator arranged in the pre-combustion chamber housing protruding into the pre-combustion chamber. The flow agitator increases flow disturbance in the pre-combustion chamber for improving mixture of fuel and air. Cooling of the pre-combustion chamber system is improved by dividing the cooling chamber into a cooling inner chamber and a cooling outlet chamber or by arranging cooling fins in the pre-combustion chamber housing extending into the cooling chamber.

A plurality of non-overlapping occluder members are mounted in the flow passage and have synchronized movement due to devices externally of the flow passage. The occluder members have mating edges which engage when closed together to substantially restrict flow through the passage. The occluder members are movable to multiple open positions wherein the mating edges are spaced apart to permit unobstructed and centralized flow through the passage.

Abstract: An oil distribution and cooling system for diesel engines of the design represented by the 6.4L POWER STROKEĀ® engine. The stock oil cooler and cover are removed and a manifold is positioned in place of the removed stock oil cooler and cover. The block has oil in, oil out, coolant in and coolant out ports which align with those on the engine. Coolant is directed to an adapter plate and a relocated oil cooler which may be the removed cooler or a replacement, preferably of the oil-to-air type. Oil to be filtered and cooled is directed through the manifold to a filter and then to the cooler. Cool, clean oil is returned to the manifold for distribution to various engine locations.
