    Abstract: A vending machine cabinet is retained in a closed position by a hook that is engaged by a vertically moveable latch bar that can be latched closed without requiring a solenoid. The latch bar is moved by means of a cam attached to one of the hooks. Prior to engaging the hook, an angled surface of the cam engages a surface defined by the opening in the latch bar. As the door is closed, the cam rotates through an angle thereby lifting the latch bar until the upwardly extending finger of the hook can move through the opening of the latch bar. When the door is fully closed, the surface of the cam is moved from beneath the edge of the opening in the latch bar thereby allowing the latch bar to drop behind the hook, latching the door closed.

    Abstract: A door locking apparatus of the invention is suitable for locking and unlocking a door of a dispenser and a case thereof. The apparatus includes a door lock mechanism situated between the door and the case for latching the door at a locked position, a solenoid mounted inside the door for releasing the door lock mechanism, a receiver mounted inside the door and connected to the solenoid, and a transmitter for sending an ID signal from an outside of the door to the receiver. When the receiver receives the ID signal from the transmitter, the solenoid actuates to release the door lock mechanism. Since the door lock mechanism is not seen from the outside of the door, the lock is protected from bad mischief and burglary.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes a floating latching mechanism for a safe door. The safe door is secured to the safe box using several pins to latch the door to the safe box. The pins have a connecting end which is slightly smaller in diameter than the hole on the bar. This allows the pin to float on the bar to remedy any misalignment between the pin and the pin support member hole. A bushing is inserted into the pin support member hole to provide a noiseless and maintenance free movement of the pin every time the safe door is latched and unlatched. The floating latching mechanism allows for greatly simplified alignment of pins to the pin support member, and reduces maintenance and noise.

The dual locking mechanism has a single pivot key that acts to place two deadbolt locks in either a locked or unlocked position simultaneously. The deadbolts may be oriented at various angles to one another. Typically, the deadbolts are oriented at a 90 degree angle from one another, with one deadbolt locking into the side frame of a door, and the other locking into the upper door frame or floor. The mechanical arrangements of the locking mechanism allows one deadbolt to be broken or forced into an unlocked position without affecting or unlocking the other independent deadbolt.

    Abstract: A striker plate attached to the door frame or door jamb associated with a door provided with a dead bolt lock of the type having vertically reciprocating bolts received in aligned apertures in a pair of lugs attached to the strike plate. In the present invention, the strike plate is provided with lugs having a larger than normal area and which project inwardly of the body of the lock and have a second pair of aligned apertures for receiving a security pin so that when the security pin is in position, the door cannot be opened even if the lock bolts are retracted. In addition, the lugs have a third pair of aligned apertures receiving the security pin which has a safety chain or cable attached thereto and anchored to the lock or door so that the door can be opened a limited distance when the lock bolts are retracted thereby enabling an occupant to safely open the door a limited amount in order to determine whether the door should be completely opened or not.
