  • Patent number: 5957513
Abstract: A container lifter (2), suited for lifting and moving 5-gallon water bottles (4) by the neck (6), includes a U-shaped collar (14) with proximal and distal portions (16, 18), a side brace (28) extending from the distal portion of the collar and a handle (34) extending from the proximal portion of the collar. A horizontally-oriented container can be removed from a delivery truck and placed in a generally vertical orientation. To do so, the collar is slid sideways onto the neck of the bottle, the handle is pulled horizontally so the collar engages the neck ring, and the bottle is pulled from the truck. Once free from the truck, the bottle swings down to a generally, but not completely, vertical orientation at which the proximal portion of the collar and the side brace engage the neck. The container lifter can also be used to lift and move generally vertically-oriented bottles with the proximal portion of the collar and the side brace engaging the neck.

  • Patent number: 5848816
Abstract: A foldable animal pull apparatus which forms a rigid bar when two rigid bars of equal-length are extended. Attached at a center position of the two attached bars is a flexible connector and hook clasp attachment which serves as an animal pull for the removal of fallen animals from the woods. The animal pull apparatus forms a rigid two-piece bar when extended, with two handles and a cable and hook hanging from the center of the bar. When folded, the animal pull folds into compact shape which can be carried in the pocket or in a vest of a hunter. The benefit of the foldable animal pull is that the structural integrity of the extended two handled bar is improved by a support block and pivoting mechanism which provides a two-handled bar that is strong and durable.

  • Patent number: 5435610
Abstract: The device and method of the invention enables a single workman to drive a tongue and groove subflooring panel into mating connection with a prelaid subfloor panel without the use of a sledgehammer. The device fits over and receives and is secured to the usual driving plank as an operative part thereof. An elongate handle extends upwardly and backwardly at an acute angle to and from its lower end portion, which is fastened to the upper face of the plank centrally and transversely thereof so the workman standing on the panel facing forwardly with his legs spread apart longitudinally therealong uses his weight to flatten the panel while he forcefully pulls the device backwardly, so the driving plank, whose rearward longitudinal edge face abuts the grooved forward edge face of the subfloor panel to be driven, drives such subfloor panel into mated connection with a rearwardly positioned, prelaid, subfloor panel.

Abstract: A sanitary device for collecting and disposing of canine fecal matter is disclosed. The device uses a scooper device with a disposable bag which is formed from a bag blank. The bag blank has a collection portion on the upper surface, and a closure device for closing a bag formed therefrom. The closure device is attached to the periphery of the lower surface. During use the scooper device maintains the collection portion of the bag blank in a substantially flat condition. The bag blank, upon mounting for use, substantially covers and protects from soilage the scooper device. After canine feces is collected on the surface of the bag blank; the bag is formed by operating the scooper device; and, then is securely closed to form a disposable bag.

Abstract: A wallboard carrier with a supporting platform to hold the wallboard and a pair of shanks extending upwardly from said platform and leading to a horizontal handle. A lip on the outer edge of the platform, opposite the shanks, holds the wallboard on the platform between the lip and the shanks. Ridges or grooves running across the platform prevent the board from slipping horizontally along its longitudinal edge. The bottom of the platform is rounded, so the lip may be placed underneath the edge of a piece of horizontal wallboard and the board rolled onto the platform and into a vertical position for carrying.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for transporting wafer cassettes. A wafer cassette handle is characterized by an elongated cylindrical handle positioned horizontal and in parallel to the front face of a wafer cassette and attached to the cassette by engagement members engaging grooves provided in the cassette. The operator's hand carries the handle and cassette by grasping the handle in an underhand grip with the back of the hand engaging the front face of the cassette or a support plate connected to the handle. The underhand grip minimizes wrist strain and encourages operators to hold the cassette high in the air, where particulate contamination is at a minimum.
