    Abstract: A motor vehicle having a roof that can be opened and a roof closing device that can be adjusted between a position closing a roof opening and a position exposing the roof opening. An opening is provided within the roof closing device and is adapted to be optionally released opened or closed by means of a movable closing element. This is especially advantageous when the roof closing device, in it folded position, forms a functional unit and especially at least one back seat of the vehicle, and when, while the roof closing device is in the folded position, the closing element, in its open position, allows access to a safety device, especially at least one belt buckle of a safety belt device that is associated therewith and located behind the roof closing device in the folded position.

A second cross member positioned rearwardly of the moon roof opening increases rigidity of the reinforcing moon roof frame module.

This roof assembly can be mounted to the vehicle in an optimized manner for ease of assembly, color matching, and to provide structure to support a mounted sunroof assembly.
