  • Patent number: 4569563
Abstract: In a slide structure employing balls comprising an outer element formed by a U-section element 1 provided with flanges 2, the inner element 8 is constituted by a tube which is deformed in such manner as to include two lateral wings 10 each one of which is between two concave grooves for receiving the balls 16. Beyond the portion of the tube deformed in this way, the tube is bent and devoid of flanges so as to enable it to extend through the opening 3 of the U-section element 1 before resuming its initial section. The tube terminates in fixing tabs. Sheared and deformed portions which are evenly spaced apart along a central longitudinally extending boss 18 of the inner element constitute a rack for driving or locking the inner element relative to the outer element.

  • Patent number: 4254991
Abstract: A chair apparatus particularly useful by crew members in oceangoing powerboats has a seat assembly attached to a support flange assembly. The support flange is adjustably coupled to an upstanding support member which is fixed to a support surface to allow the seat assembly to be moved vertically along the upstanding support member. The side portions of the seat assembly are adjustable in and out to accommodate the width of a particular occupant. A posterior support extension is hinged to the front portion of the seat assembly to provide increased sitting space when, for example, the boat is not racing. The posterior support extension is rotated downward and out of the way when the boat is racing. A non-rebound impact absorption pad is attached to the interior surfaces of the seat assembly. The pad has a plurality of layers of visco-elastic foam, each layer having a different degree of firmness.

  • Patent number: 4103969
Abstract: An adjustable wooden studio bench has four legs, the upper portions of which are connected by a pair of horizontal top rails provided with vertical openings through which the legs extend. A horizontal footrest rail like the top rails is mounted on the lower portions of the legs. The front legs are connected with the back legs by means of cross bars with vertical openings for the legs. The cross bars may support a tray. Each rail and bar has a vertical slot through each end extending from the opening out through the adjacent end to form a pair of horizontally spaced jaws that are drawn toward each other by a fastener extending through them to clamp the rails and bars to the legs. When the fasteners are loosened, the rails and bars can be moved vertically on the legs. The top rails support a seat that is slidable lengthwise of them.
