  • Patent number: 8376463
Abstract: Angle adjustable backrest made of a lightweight, durable, adjustable, backrest for ultralight manual wheelchairs. Light-weight material can include composites for a rigid backrest for promotion of healthier and functional interface. Angle adjustment can be any desired range such as a range from ?5 degree to 55 degrees (i.e. 85 degrees to 145 degree with respect to horizontal with the seat). No tools are necessary for any of the angle adjustments. The backrest has a horizontal adjustment (fore-aft) that can be any desired range such as 1 inch. The height selection depends on the length of the wheelchair frame tubes. The present invention improves the ease and simplicity of adjusting the backrest by or for the user, as well as enhances the aesthetic appearance and adds features necessary for achieving commercial readiness. The present invention can be retro fit onto a wide range for ultralight wheelchairs.

Abstract: Chair having a backrest that is adjustable into differently-angled positions includes a first body having a structure defining the chair seat and support legs. A second body forms the backrest of the chair. The lower portion of the second body projects into the inner space defined by the first body. The lower end of the backrest is pivotally engaged to both sides of the lower portion of the first proximal either one of its front or back ends. The seat and the backrest respectively include multiple elongated elements extending from the bottom to the top of the backrest and from the back to the front of the seat. The elongated elements of the seat and backrest interleave with each other, allowing angular displacement of the backrest towards the front or back ends of the seat and, resulting in different inclination angles of the backrest.

Abstract: A recliner assembly for a vehicle seat that has a pair of adjustable recliners are disposed on opposite sides of the seat that connect a seat back to a seat base. The recliners are shifted between a locked position and an unlocked position by manually pivoting a connector rod. Each recliner has a gear plate and a guide plate that are each associated with one of the seat base and seat back. An easy entry module is also provided to release the seat back to pivot over the seat base to provide access to an area behind the seat back. A static connector may be provided that connects the gear plates of each of the pair of recliners and retains the gear plates of each recliner in alignment with the corresponding gear plate of the other recliner.

Abstract: The invention relates to a link chain having two or more rows of chain elements, wherein the chain elements of one row are rotatably connected to those of the adjacent row in the chain plane in such a way that each chain element has two rotational axes, of which in each case one of the two rotational axes belongs to two different chain elements in adjacent rows, and that the chain elements of one row are connected to one another by means of toothed devices at their ends in such a way that the chain is flexible in the chain plane. The chain elements at one end of the link chain are likewise provided, at their outer side, with a toothed device, which is in engagement with an actuator. The actuator is a pneumatic actuator, a hydraulic actuator, an electromotive actuator or a manual drive actuator. The actuator may have a latching fitting, wherein the latching fitting is provided with a toothed surface that is in engagement with a toothed surface of a chain element in one row.
