  • Patent number: 10993538
Abstract: A seat apparatus includes a base having a central ridge structure on the top of the base. The central ridge structure is round on the top and slopes downward from front to back. A secondary ridge structure may be included on top of the central ridge structure. Using the seat apparatus, a person with a hemorrhoid condition can sit on the seat apparatus, and using their own body weight, create pressure between the affected area and the central ridge structure. The pressure bias the hemorrhoid to be repositioned in the user's body, relieving discomfort and, with long term use, can improve sphincter control to better prevent hemorrhoid conditions.

Abstract: A therapeutic leg elevation device and an associated treatment method are disclosed. The device includes a first inclined surface for supporting a patient's thigh and that tilts the thigh at an angle above horizontal that is also less than an angle that can kink the femoral vein. A second inclined surface supports the patient's lower leg and also tilts the lower leg above the horizontal at an angle sufficient to permit gravity to augment blood flow. The first and second surfaces define an angle that positions the knee and lower leg at an angle that relaxes the hamstring and gastrocnemius muscle for comfort and prevents the popliteal vein from being compressed by the tibia. The second inclined surface has a limited length that permits a patient's feet to extend over the end of the second surface to prevent pressure on the heel. The device includes an inflatable interior component and a cushion layer covering the inflatable interior component.

Abstract: Passenger seating arrangements are detailed. At least some arrangements permit each passenger to access an aisle of a vessel without contacting an adjacent passenger. Movable footwells may be utilized to floor-level access when retracted and function as steps when extended as a seat is converted to a bed. This structure authorizes decrease in seat pitch without decrease of bed length, permitting additional seating to be included in a cabin of a vessel without diminishment of passenger comfort.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes devices, methods, and systems for leg elevation. The leg elevating device includes a leg support platform, a base platform positioned adjacent the leg support platform, and a first and second lift positioned between and coupled to the leg support platform and the base platform. The leg support platform can have a first horizontal position relative the base platform when the first and second lift are in a first position, an angled position relative the base platform when the first lift is in a second position and the second lift is in the first position, and a second horizontal position relative the base platform when the first and second lift are in a second position. Also, the leg support platform can be a predetermined height above a floor surface when in the first horizontal position, such that the leg elevating device is locatable under furniture.
