  • Publication number: 20020063436
Abstract: A footrest assembly 15 comprises a footrest 17 and a clip 18. The clip 18 has a shank 27 to be inserted into and fixed to a hollow tubular support 22, 23 extending from a rear surface 21 of a step of the footrest 17, and a resilient engagement pawl 29, which serves as a vehicle body panel fixing portion, formed in a shank portion from protruded from the end of the support. A protrusion 33 for defining the height of the footrest is provided at the intermediate region of the side surface of the shank 27 of the clip 18, and is arranged to engage with an end face of a notch 26 formed at the end of the support so as to prevent the shank from being further inserted. The protrusion 33 is formed at the side surface of the shank of predetermined strength which allows the protrusion to be shorn by the end of the support when a vehicle collision of a predetermined impact force causes the shank to be pressed to the support of the footrest.

  • Publication number: 20020060490
Abstract: According to a conventional hydraulic-pump-type barber or beauty chair having legs which spread out, radiately and in parallel to a floor surface, from the lower part of a pump, a seat part itself is large and heavy, which results in a high center of gravity. Thus, the chair can quite possibly turn over while it is moved. Further, the legs are arranged at the lower position on the floor surface and are arranged in parallel to the floor surface, resulting in a difficult cleaning under the legs. The present invention is provided with a ring-shaped bracket for fixing the legs with sandwiching the upper part of the hydraulic pump, the upper bracket, and the cylinder part, one another, thereby realizing a design, wherein the legs are radiately arranged therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6273443
Abstract: A universal elevating leg rest assembly for a wheelchair. The leg rest assembly includes an upper hanger plate mounted on a front tube member of the wheelchair. A lower hanger plate is mounted on the front tube member in a vertically-aligned, spaced-apart relationship with the upper hanger plate. A universal bracket assembly is pivotally mounted to the upper and lower hanger plates and allows the elevating leg rest assembly to be positioned on either the left or right side of the wheelchair. A latch mechanism allows the universal bracket assembly to be locked in place or unlocked, swung-away and detached from the wheelchair, if desired. A calf clamp assembly is hingedly connected to the universal bracket assembly. A release mechanism including an arcuate-shaped cam surface frictionally engages an arcuate-shaped cam surface of the calf clamp assembly to lock the leg rest assembly at a selected vertical position.
