Patent number: 10378466Abstract: The control system of the internal combustion engine comprises a control part controlling an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst. The control part alternately sets a target air-fuel ratio between a rich air-fuel ratio and a lean air-fuel ratio and controls the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas so that an output air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel ratio sensor becomes the target air-fuel ratio. The control part corrects the output air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel ratio sensor so that when a scavenging occurs, the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas changes to a rich side more than an amount of deviation expected to occur in the output air-fuel ratio due to the occurrence of the scavenging. The control part increases a lean degree of the target air-fuel ratio when the scavenging occurs compared with when the scavenging does not occur.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2016Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Yuki Morita, Kinji Morihiro

Patent number: 8561394Abstract: Suggested is a procedure for heating a catalyst in the exhaust gas system of a supercharged combustion engine with direct fuel injection and variable gas exchange valve control by producing a reactive exhaust gas fuel/air mixture in the exhaust gas system, whereby an air percentage of the reactive fuel/air mixture is thereby produced that air is rinsed from a suction system of the combustion engine over its combustion chambers into the exhaust gas system. The invention distinguishes itself thereby that the combustion engine is operated in idle mode after a cold start with a greater valve overlap and/or a greater valve overlap profile than in a normal operation where the catalyst is already heated as well as with an apportionment of a fuel amount that has to be injected before a combustion into at least two partial injections per ignition and combustion chamber and with a suboptimal ignition angle efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2008Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Guido Porten, Juergen Raimann

A sharp edge or blade member is held to an interior surface of one of the legs at an angle to the terminal ends of the legs. A movable blade cover may be provided for safety. A plastic package to be opened is inserted between the open ends of the legs and the blade member brought against the plastic package by squeezing the two legs together and directed across the surface of the plastic package to sever the plastic package and open the same for removal of an item or items held therein.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2006Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Inventor: Christopher Anastasi

Publication number: 20100122465Abstract: A hand-held slicing device having a handle connected to a slicing tray. The slicing tray includes a ramp leading to a fixed blade. The ramp is readily adjustable such that the height of the edge of the ramp most closely adjacent the blade can be raised or lowered. In one version, the ramp can be raised or lowered by sliding a support structure connected to a knob that can be slideably adjusted by the user's thumb. The device may include a series of julienne blades that are selectively extendable above the slicing ramp or retractable below the ramp.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: PROGRESSIVE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Larry Holmes, Sascha Kaposi

Patent number: 7694615Abstract: A food slicer having a blade is disclosed having a runway for supporting food prior to cutting by the blade and a landing for supporting the blade and the food after being cut. The runway and landing are adjustable for selecting a thickness of a food slice. The runway and landing are simultaneously adjusted, by a single mechanism, so that the blade and runway are maintained generally parallel with respect to each other. The adjusting mechanism includes a plurality of rotatable cam portions that engage with respective portions on the runway and landing so that each of the runway and landing may be oppositely pivoted around an end to maintain the parallel relationship. The food slicer also includes on-board storage for inserts, such as julienning or cubing inserts. The storage is located on a bottom of the runway, which is pivoted upward for storage.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2006Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Helen of Troy LimitedInventor: Dean DiPietro

Patent number: 7690120Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for retro-actively cutting wiper blades, comprising a first guiding element (D) which engages in grooves which are arranged on both sides of the wiper blades, and a second guiding element (L) which is arranged in close proximity to the edge of the lip (M) of the wiper blade which is to be retro-actively cut. A blade (J) is arranged in close proximity to the second guiding element (L). The second guiding element (L) has a fixed width such that the lip (M) of the wiper blade is guided in a smooth-running manner.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2003Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Inventors: Harald Sieke, Martin Sieke

Publication number: 20090300922Abstract: A deburr tool for deburring an end of a conduit includes a handle, cutting bit, and head. The handle is to grasp the deburr tool. The handle has a handle axis. The cutting bit includes a distal end, proximal end, body portion and a cutting profile. The body portion is generally cylindrical and has a bit axis. The cutting profile is generally “U” shaped and resides in a plane generally parallel to the bit axis. The cutting profile tapers from an opening disposed at the distal end to an arcuate base. The opening has a distance between a first side and a second side that exceeds a wall thickness of the conduit. The head rotatably secures the cutting bit to the handle. The bit axis coincides with the handle axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2009Publication date: December 10, 2009Inventor: William Matthew Ames

Patent number: 7624507Abstract: This invention relates to a hand held cutting device comprising a handle (62), a cutting head (63), a cutting element (4) attached to the cutting head (63), and a guiding and supporting element (2) extending from the cutting head (63). The guiding and supporting element (2) and cutting head (63) are arranged to form a protecting periphery (100) such that any part of a cutting edge (4A) of the cutting element (4) does not protrude outside of said periphery. The guiding and supporting element (2) includes a distal portion (2A) arranged to form a feed channel (64) together with a portion (60) of the handle (62) and a support device (1) is arranged on the guiding and supporting element (2).Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2007Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Assignee: ES Equipment ABInventor: Martin Bergstrand

Publication number: 20090106985Abstract: A hand-held implement for trimming mounted photographs, posters, and other laminates includes a handle, an edge guide connected to the handle defining a side surface for traveling against the peripheral edge of the substrate, and an upper guide connected to the handle defining a lower surface for traveling against the exposed front surface of the laminate. A blade, mounted on the upper guide, has a cutting edge extending below the lower surface of the upper guide and immediately adjacent the side surface of the first guide. When the side surface is stabilized against the peripheral edge of the substrate and pushed forward, the blade produces an edge perfectly matched to the edge of the laminate and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2008Publication date: April 30, 2009Inventor: Lamoyne W.
