  • Patent number: 7262532
Abstract: A motor structure resistant to liquid intrusion features two modules, the first having an electronically commutated external-rotor motor (20), which motor comprises an internal stator (22) that is arranged on a bearing tube (30) and is separated by a first air gap (24) from an external rotor (26; 92), which latter comprises a rotor cup (40) that is open at one end and is joined at its other end to a shaft (46) that is journalled in the bearing tube (30), further having a permanent-magnet arrangement (76), arranged at the open end of the rotor cup (40), for magnetic interaction with a second permanent-magnet rotor (92), forming part of the second module. The first module is separated from that second rotor (92) by a second air gap and forms therewith a magnetic coupling (94), so that a rotation of the permanent-magnet arrangement (76) brings about a rotation of that second rotor (92).

Abstract: A method of increasing the quantity of input/output (I/O) decode ranges using system management interrupts (SMI) traps is disclosed. In one aspect, the present disclosure teaches a method of increasing the quantity of I/O decode ranges using SMI traps in a chipset including generating a system management interrupt (SMI) based on information causing access to an I/O address that triggers a SMI trap. The I/O address operably received at the chipset via a bus. The method further including automatically reprogramming a decode register in the chipset such that the I/O address forwards the information to a device on the bus.

  • Patent number: 7071590
Abstract: A coaxial dynamical system includes a motor having a transmission shaft, a dynamical transmission member rotatably connecting to the transmission shaft, and a magnetic driving mechanism connected between the transmission shaft and the dynamical transmission member. The magnetic driving mechanism includes a sleeve assembly, a sleeve fixing member, a magnetic coupler and a magnetic driver. The magnetic coupler has a first multi-pole magnet and is positioned next to the transmission shaft. The magnetic driver is fixed to the transmission shaft corresponding to the magnetic coupler and has a second multi-pole magnet with an opposite polarity relative to the first multi-pole magnet of the magnetic coupler. When the dynamical transmission member is fails, the magnetic driving mechanism is prevented from adversely affecting the normal working of the transmission shaft through the magnetic driver by disconnecting from the magnetic coupler.

  • Patent number: 6700264
Abstract: An induction pump driving system has a motor shaft, a pump shaft, a first magnetization body, a second magnetization body, an electrical coil, a yoke, and a nonmagnetically electrical-conducting body. The first magnetization body is mounted on the motor shaft and is driven by the motor shaft. The second magnetization body is provided inside a seal cover that is provided at one end of the pump shaft. The first magnetization body, the second magnetization body, the electrical coil, and the yoke are configured to constitute a closed magnetic path. The rotation of the motor shaft is configured to change the magnetic flux of the closed magnetic path to have the nonmagnetically electrical-conducting body, which is coupled with mechanical means, induced with an eddy current and thus, exert an electromagnetic force on the body so as to rotate the pump shaft.

  • Patent number: 6680555
Abstract: The invention is based on an electromagnetic hysteresis unit (1, 23) with magnetic north pole (4) which are arranged to alternate with magnetic south pole (5) on a magnet body (2, 3) in a peripheral direction (15) about an axis of rotation (14) at a distance from the magnetic south poles (5). The magnet body (2, 3) comprises a magnet coil (6). A hysteresis ring (16) connected with a rotor (17) can be moved with a slight play in relation to the poles (4, 5). It is proposed that the peripheral surfaces of the north pole (4) and south pole (5) lie on the same circle and opposite the same peripheral surface of the hysteresis ring (16). Thereby is created a radial construction space for embedding the hysteresis ring (16) in the rotor (17) which consists of material of good heat conductivity and optionally for providing cooling ribs.

  • Patent number: 6657351
Abstract: A flux generator base unit electromagnetically coupled with a receiving unit to transfer energy into the receiving unit. The base unit includes one or more permanent magnets that produce a magnetic flux, which passes through a receiver coil in the receiving unit. The receiver coil is either disposed in a separate housing that is electrically connected with a portable device, or integrated into the housing of the portable device. Either the permanent magnets or a flux shunt is moved in the base unit to produce the varying magnetic flux that is coupled to the receiver coil. As a result of the varying magnetic field experienced by the receiver coil, an electric current is induced in the receiver coil, which is conditioned (e.g., rectified, filtered, and regulated) by a conditioning circuit to charge a battery or energize electronics contained in the portable device.

  • Patent number: 6417591
Abstract: A magnetic coupling mechanism which can transmit rotational force of a motor with high efficiency and is simple in mechanism and unlikely to damage bearings, etc. and also unlikely to contaminate a laser gas, and in which flakes from plating or the like will not cause an operational abnormality. The magnetic coupling mechanism transmits rotational force from a motor shaft outside a laser chamber filled with a laser gas to a shaft of a gas-circulating fan in the laser chamber to rotate the fan. A first magnet group is provided on an inner peripheral surface at one end of the motor shaft. A second magnet group is radially coupled to the first magnet group through a ceramic partition constituting a part of the wall of a container of the laser chamber. The second magnet group is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the fan shaft.
