Abstract: An inertial actuator for active vibration control utilizes a single cylindrical actuator module of the “voice coil” type. A moving armature assembly, including a soft iron shell with a tubular sleeve coaxially surrounding a core with two permanent magnets and corresponding pole plates, is suspended compliantly by a flexure assembly including a multiple-stack array of shaped flexure strips and a pair of end support flexure plates mounted to a base. Two magnetically charged annular air gaps at the pole plates in the moving armature traverse two corresponding annular coils wound in a tubular bobbin that extends as a heat-sinking mounting column attached to the base. This form of inertial actuator provides cost benefits along with improved performance and reliability due to the stability of the moving parts and uniformity of linear motion.

Because the positions of the frond ends of the slider blocks in the slider moving direction relative to the stator salient poles of SIDE-A are shifted from those of SIDE-B by P/2 corresponding to 180 electrical degrees, thrust ripples occurring on SIDE-A and SIDE-B have a relationship such that they are displaced by P/2. Accordingly, the coaxial alignment accuracy improves, Moreover, the ring-shaped permanent magnet comprising the Nd—Fe—B magnetic material expands in its radial direction when cooled down, while the supporting member comprising a resin contracts, thus the permanent magnet is firmly held by the supporting member. • Patent number: 6917127
Abstract: An outer stator of a motor is mounted in a linear compressor for compressing a coolant gas. The outer stator comprises a coil assembly having a coil wound on a bobbin with flange parts and a plurality of core blocks that surround the coil assembly. The flange parts of the bobbin are provided with bobbin pressers that include protrusions so that the core blocks and the bobbin are pressed by a cylinder block and a back cover mounted in the linear compressor when the outer stator is in the linear compressor. The core blocks and the coil assembly of the outer stator are assembled in the linear compressor while the core blocks and the coil assembly of the outer stator are integrally attached to each other. Consequently, relative movement between the coil assembly and the core blocks is effectively prevented when the linear compressor is operated. Furthermore, shifting of coil wound on the bobbin is effectively prevented.

  • Patent number: 6917126
Abstract: A sliding means with built-in moving-magnet linear motor is provided, realizing high-speed operation and much response ability of a table to a stationary bed, and also accurate position control of the table to the bed. With the sliding means of this invention, armature windings carry a three-phase current while a driving circuit is transferred to the external driver to make the bed slim in construction. Thus, the sliding means is reduced in overall height. A field magnet of rare earth permanent magnet is effective in raising flux density, thereby providing high propulsion for the table. An encoder to monitor a position of the table is an optical encoder having an optical linear scale, which contributes to improvement in accurate monitoring. The construction in which the armature windings connected to cords, lines, and so on are placed on the stator side has no fear of causing dust and dirt, thus realizing clean environment.
