Abstract: The invention relates to a windscreen wiper drive mechanism in which an output lever can be fixed on a gear wheel at a predetermined angle, the gear wheel adopting a position at a defined angle. Before assembly, the output shaft should be connected to the output lever in such a way that it cannot be detached. The invention also relates to a method for assembling a drive system of this type. The inventive method consists essentially of the following steps: moving the gear wheel into the defined end position (park position) independently of engagement with the output shaft and then connecting the output shaft to which the output lever was previously undetachably fixed to the gear wheel, with a press fit. Advantageous embodiments describe appropriate bearing possibilities for the gear wheel and suitable steps for facilitating the pressing-in process.

Abstract: A motor having gears which transmit rotations of a rotor to an output shaft through a gear mechanism made of gear trains, comprises a gear mechanism provided with an intermittent rotation mechanism including a primary gear which rotates upon receiving rotations of the rotor and a secondary gear which meshes with the primary gear and rotates intermittently. The primary gear has a tooth unit for driving the secondary gear, a tooth-shaped hole, which is provided adjacent to one side of the tooth unit and with which a meshing tooth of the secondary gear meshes, and a control unit which is provided adjacent to the other side of the tooth unit so as to stop the secondary gear for a given period such that the primary gear is asymmetric around the tooth unit. When the primary gear rotates in a predetermined direction, the meshing tooth meshes with the tooth-shaped hole to intermittently rotate the secondary gear.

  • Patent number: 6252317
Abstract: An electric motor includes a plurality of coils through which passes a ring rotor having a plurality of magnets supported thereon. The magnets are arranged about the ring rotor to be equidistant from an axis of rotation coinciding with the motor output shaft. The polarity of the magnets are alternated with North poles of adjacent magnets facing toward or against the direction of rotation of the rotor. The position of the rotor is detected and correspondingly electrical energy is applied to the coils to induce electro-magnetic fields which couple and superimpose with the magnetic fields of the permanent magnets. When the electrical energy is alternated between a certain voltage level and its inverse, each coil is able to simultaneously attract and repel adjacent magnets, thereby causing rotational movement of the rotor. The coils may be formed with superconducting materials and enclosed so that they may be cooled to superconducting temperatures. Other features to improve motor efficiency are shown.

Abstract: Two of the three feed rings to beheld in a rotating cylinder are fitted into respective mounting holes, which are formed on both end of the rotating cylinder so as to have circular openings, and are fixed by locking rings so as not to slip off. The center feed ring is fitted into a mounting portion, which is formed at a predetermined position on a circumferential wall of the rotating cylinder so as to have a slit-shaped opening, and is engaged with a thread groove formed on a rack shaft which pierces through an axial center of the rotating cylinder. Moreover, a bearing is fitted inside the rotating cylinder. The bearing is brought into contact with a circumference of the rack shaft so as to stand a radial load applied to the rack shaft. Such a structure realizes firm engagement between the feed rings and moving shaft, and thus a movement transforming device, which has a simple and compact structure capable of secure movement transformation between rotational movement and linear movement.

  • Patent number: 6158558
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electromechanically operated disc brake for motor vehicles, which consists of a floating-type brake caliper as well as an actuating unit arranged on the caliper. The actuating unit exhibits an electric motor which adjusts an actuating element via a reducing gear. The actuating element in turn causes one of two friction linings provided in the brake caliper in a displaceable manner to be brought into engagement with a brake disc. In order to be able to maintain high clamping forces with very low electric power, the present invention proposes that means (20 or 21,22) be provided to prevent reverse rotation of the rotor (10) of the electric motor (6) when the current supplied to the electric motor (6) is switched off after said electric motor (6) was activated. At the same time, this measure minimizes heating of the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 6114771
Abstract: A resilient restricting member of a rotation restricting member which restricts a pinion moving body from rotating is accommodated in a frame of a restricting member holder under a flexed and loaded state so that the rotation restricting member has a sufficient rotation-restricting function as long as the rotary force of the pinion moving body does not exceed the load acting thereon at the time of engagement and restriction of rotation. When a pinion gear abuts the end face of a ring gear and the pinion moving body is restricted from moving forward, the entire rotary force of an output shaft acts on the pinion moving body. The resilient restricting member flexes further in the restricting member holder to allow rotation of the pinion moving body, thus enabling the pinion gear to mesh the ring gear. Thus, the rotary force of the output shaft is converted to the advancing force of the pinion moving body surely even when the spiraling of the helical spline is not so large.
