Abstract: Systems and methods for generating shadows for a media guidance application are provided. A display of a media asset is generated that includes a media object with a shadow at an object shadow position. Object shadow information is stored corresponding to the shadow of the object and the object shadow position. In response to receiving a user request to access a media guidance application, a media guidance application display corresponding to the user request is selected. A guide shadow is generated based on the stored object shadow information and the media guidance application display. The guide shadow is combined with the media guidance application display for display to the user.

  • Patent number: 6914376
Abstract: A frame for supporting a tension-type shadow mask of a color CRT, which can increase the contact force of a damper wire at the peripheral portion of the shadow mask thus to improve the howling phenomenon is disclosed. The frame comprises a pair of first frames, each having a portion for supporting a shadow mask, respectively; and a pair of second frames combined with the first frames for applying elastic force to the shadow mask, wherein each of the portions for supporting in the first frames has inflection points where the curvature of the portions for supporting is increased at peripheral portions thereof after the first frames are compressed, for supporting the shadow mask and increasing a friction force for a damper wire at the periphery of the shadow mask.

Abstract: A color picture tube includes: a glass panel having a substantially rectangular-frame skirt; a rectangular frame holding a shadow mask; and a support spring elastically supporting the frame inside the skirt and fixed to a first position at inside surface of a long side of the skirt and to a second position at the facing outside surface of the frame. The first and second positions are away in horizontal axis direction perpendicular to tube axis and substantially parallel to the long side. The second position is more away from vertical axis perpendicular to tube axis and horizontal axis than the first position. Materials for the support spring and frame are selected so that, in horizontal axis direction, thermal expansion amount of the support spring between the first and second positions is substantially same as that of the frame between the second position and vertical axis when the tube is operated.
