Patent number: 11600992Abstract: The present application provides an electric protection circuit, which relates to the field of battery power. The electric protection circuit includes a battery pack, a main positive switch, a load device and a main negative switch connected in series. The main positive switch and/or the main negative switch include at least one semiconductor switch. The main positive switch and/or the main negative switch in the electric protection circuit are connected in parallel to a protection module, which absorbs electric energy across two terminals of the main positive switch and/or the main negative switch when the main positive switch and/or the main negative switch are turned off. The technical solution of the present application can improve the safety of the electric protection circuit.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2019Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., LimitedInventors: Jinbo Cai, Zhimin Dan, Wei Zhang, Yizhen Hou, Xiong Zheng

Patent number: 9641072Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus to drive reactive loads are disclosed. An example apparatus to drive a reactive load includes a reactive component in circuit with the reactive load, a first switching element in circuit with the reactive load to selectively hold the reactive load in a first energy state and to selectively allow the reactive load to change from the first energy state to a second energy state, a second switching element in circuit with the reactive load to selectively hold the reactive load in the second energy state and to selectively allow the reactive load to change from the second energy state to the first energy state, and a controller to detect a current in the reactive load, and to control the first and second switching elements to hold the reactive load in the first or the second energy state when the current traverses a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2014Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Abderrhamane Ounadjela, Jacques Jundt, Olivier Moyal, Henri-Pierre Valero, Sandip Bose

Patent number: 9437100Abstract: In an example implementation, a system includes a control module, one or more electric circuits, each electric circuit including a resistor and one or more notification devices in parallel, and a supervisor module electrically coupled to the control module and the electric circuits. The supervisor module is configured to receive input electric power, the input electric power having a voltage in a range of 12 to 16 VDC, and apply, to each electric circuit, first electric power having a first polarity and a voltage of approximately 12 VDC. The supervisor module is also configured to determine, based on electric power returning from each electric circuit, an operational state of each respective electric circuit, and receive, from the control module, a trigger signal indicative of an alarm event.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2014Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Inventor: Jeffrey D. Patent number: 5872478Abstract: An SCR firing circuit is provided which includes a plurality of opto-couplers, diodes, a capacitor and an SCR, utilized to control the AC power applied to a load, such as a vibratory feeder. In various embodiments of the invention, one or more opto-couplers act as solid state switches and also isolate a control signal from the AC line voltage. The capacitor is charged from an AC power source through the diode during a half cycle of the AC line voltage, and remains charged until the SCR is triggered. In response to a control signal rendering the opto-couplers conductive, the capacitor is discharged through the opto-couplers to fire the SCR and provide AC power to the load. A back-to-back SCR firing circuit is also provided which fires a first SCR when a line voltage is positive and which fires a second SCR when the line voltage is negative, which may be utilized to adjust the frequency of the application of power to the load independently of the frequency of the AC power supply.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1996Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: FMC CorporationInventor: David G.
