  • Patent number: 8925210
Abstract: The current marking gauges, mortise gauges and circle marking gauges on the market require use of a ruler to measure distances prior to marking, which is inconvenient and time consuming. Moreover, the accuracy of the marked dimension is inexact due to the low accuracy of using a ruler. Furthermore, parallax error created by transferring the measured distance between the rule and the gauges also needs to be accounted for, which reduces accuracy even further. This present invention helps to improve the accuracy of the measurement and marking of the gauges, increases efficiency, convenience, saves time and is easy to use. The new product is a digital multifunctional marking gauge, that includes a Digital Unit, Main Slider, Beam, Display, Fixed Pin, Adjustable Pin, Adjustment Slider, Fence, Calibration Frame, Calibration bar, Setting Block, Scriber, Set function button of the Digital Unit, Locking Screw, Fixing Screws and related components.

  • Patent number: 8336215
Abstract: In an image card where an image is formed on a thin plate made of special synthetic paper or plastic by engraving by sweeping the plate with the engraving needle through relative movement of an engraving needle and a plate, it is impossible to form a hidden image which can be viewed when a viewpoint is changed or form an image formed by watermark engraving and the hidden image within the same plane. A hidden image is formed on an image card by engraving while angles of stripes of striped patterns are changed in response to shading of an image. Further, an image engraving device is provided with a rotary driving unit, and engraving is performed in a state that an extending direction of striped grooves of the hidden image and a forming direction of the engraving are made equal, so that a wall face of a groove is always formed by the same side face of an engraving needle and undulation does not occur on the wall face of the groove. Similarly, a shape of a bottom face of the groove is made even.

  • Patent number: 7513049
Abstract: A marking tool comprising bottom, base and top polyhedral shaped portions integrally joined such that the top and bottom portions are skewed with respect to each other and the base, such that a plurality of selected spaced distances are defined between adjacent walls of the top and bottom portions relative to walls of the base portion.

  • Patent number: 7484308
Abstract: Crafting and graphics instrument including a base plate, a movable rod, a control mechanism for controlling movement of the rod relative to the base plate such that movement of the rod in only one direction is allowed while movement of the rod in an opposite direction is prevented, and an actuating arm assembly movable to different angular positions relative to the base plate. The actuating arm assembly includes at least one shaped surface enabling formation of a line or cut by drawing a writing implement or a cutting implement along it. As the rod moves, the actuating arm assembly also moves so that the shaped surface is laterally displaced across a substrate on which the instrument is placed. This enables the formation of a series of parallel lines or cuts in or on the substrate. A table-mounted version is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020157269
Abstract: A device for measuring and marking lines and points on a steel I-beam includes a rib for contacting the outside of an I-beam flange along a line opposite the center of the beam web, a measuring blade that rests on the beam web and measures distances from the outside of the flange, and a bridge for connecting the measuring blade to the rib in a way in which the measuring blade is held perpendicular to the flange. The device marks I-beams faster and more accurately that was possible using prior art tools and techniques.

  • Patent number: 6233835
Abstract: A scribe/guide tool used as a compass and to layout stair stringers. The tool is also used in conjunction with a straightedge or a rule to function as a compass, and is most often used in pairs. A scribe means is removably inserted into the body of the tool. The tool includes a clamping means with smooth surfaces to affix the scribe/guide tool to another cooperating tool. A clamp element is moved up and down relative to the main body via a screw drive. Position indicating edges of the main body of the tool are tapered to a very narrow point to reduce the possibility of accumulated error when marking a workpiece with the tool as a guide.

  • Patent number: 6230413
Abstract: The invention is a tool for marking the diagonal miter cut locations on the horizontal and vertical molding strips of a door or window and for spacing the strips from the edge of the jamb. The tool has parallel, spaced-apart, first and second surfaces, with means attached to the second surface for marking the miter cut locations. The tool also has parallel, spaced-apart, third and fourth surfaces, with the spacing between the third and fourth surfaces corresponding to the distance between the molding strip and the edge of the jamb. Preferably, the means are a pair of blades. In operation, the tool is positioned adjacent a jamb and a strip of door molding, and a swiping movement of the tool scores the strip to mark the miter cut location. The tool enables the precise marking and spacing of moldings relative to jambs or other pieces of molding where precise marking and spacing is required.
