  • Patent number: 9383182
Abstract: A measuring device includes a support frame, a distance sensor and display (DSD), and a measuring arm. The support frame includes a first support arm, a linking rod, a poke rod, an elastic member, and a second support arm. The DSD includes a movable measuring head. A fixed measuring head is arranged coaxially with the movable measuring head to measure a distance between them. The poke rod includes a poke portion and a resisting portion. When the poke portion is pulled towards the first support arm, the resisting portion can resist against the linking rod, and the linking rod rotates to move the measuring heads.

  • Patent number: 7246977
Abstract: An indicating device with large graduations for a plane is installed at a combining section of a main base and a worktable of the plane, including a graduation ruler, a pointer and a rack. The graduation ruler formed as an arc is provided with graduations with number figures for readings. The upper end portion of the pointer faces exactly to the graduation ruler for pointing to one of the graduations. The pointer has gear teeth in its lower round edge for engaging with gear teeth located on one side of the rack. Therefore, a displacement the worktable moves relative to the main base can be clearly and easily read from the graduations of the graduation ruler.

  • Patent number: 7047153
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the probable existence, location, and type of defects in a workpiece is described. The apparatus includes a sensor subsystem, an optimizer, a control subsystem, and a computer system having a processor and computer readable memory. Sensor subsystem senses a first section of the workpiece and produces signals corresponding to a physical characteristic of the workpiece. The computer system is configured to generate a workpiece model based on the signals produced by the sensor subsystem. In an alternate embodiment, a defect assembler can be provided to merge signals from a plurality of sensor subsystems. The defect assembler can also be configured to generate the workpiece data model. The optimizer is configured to generate workpiece segmentation recommendations based on the workpiece data model.

  • Patent number: 5987764
Abstract: A gage for measuring the external threads of a threaded body has a segment housing formed from a housing body. The housing body has a generally U-shaped cross section with a bottom extending between a pair of opposite, upright sidewalls so that a channel with a longitudinal axis is defined. First and second gage segments are configured to engage the threads of the threaded body when the threaded body is positioned between the first and second segments and the first and second segments are closed together. The first gage segment is fixed to the housing body, and the second gage segment is received within the channel of the housing body. The second gage segment moves linearly within the channel along the longitudinal axis to allow the first and second segments to be separated for insertion of the threaded body between the first and second segments. This also allows the first and second segments to be closed together for engagement with the threaded body.

  • Patent number: 4875294
Abstract: A device for quickly and accurately determining the depth of cuts in a key, and for other depth determinations associated therewith. This device has a fixed anvil member having a flat top surface, as a reference surface, with a transverse slot to accept a second edge of doubly-cut key. A tip member having a selected configuration is biased toward this reference or "zero position" surface. Deviation of the tip member away from this reference surface is displayed in a visual manner on a dial indicator, a digital readout indicator or the like. The dimensioning of all the cuts of a key can be performed in seconds to accuracies of about 0.0005 inch. The cuts to be dimensioned can be in edges of the key or in flat side surfaces. Also, the pins of a lock tumbler can also be dimensioned with the embodiments of the invention.
